We could not have asked for a better host or property. It was perfect for our family. The pool is incredible, just beautiful. We also very much enjoyed the screened in lanai. If you have kids then her game room was so well stocked with board games and fooz ball. There were tons of beach toys chairs and towels. We even worked a jigsaw puzzle. All the beds were comfortable. We had car troubles while we were there and Jan was so helpful with that. And definitely rent the golf cart. It was perfect for riding to the beach and close restaurants. We can’t wait to book again!!

Heated hot tub and pool was great. The host was available every time I messaged with questions or concerns and fixed things promptly. Proximity to the beach was nice. Garage was stocked with everything you would need for the beach including bikes, golf cart (extra to rent), sand toys, chairs and beach mats. Kitchen was large to accommodate our group of 12. We would happily stay here again.

Jan is a fantastic host. She provides all the amenities you might need (bikes included!) and is very communicative. We contacted her on a question regarding the hot tub and it was remediated right away. Our 2nd stay at the house and it’s fantastic!

Our family has enjoyed vacationing in and around Destin for many years now. This was our second private-pool house after many years in condos and community-pool houses. The pool was very nice if a bit small (basically a trade-off for having a spa which was also nice). I thought we would use the outdoor seating area more, but we found it was a bit too random for more use than while we were in between pool times.The bedrooms were fine, and none of the beds received complaints. The master is HUGE (maybe too big) at the expense of the other bedrooms. The master and the bunk room are the only ones with attached baths, and the bedroom just inside the front door must travel through the living room to a restroom in the middle of the night.I think our biggest issue with the rental was an expectation we had from the headline when we booked - the golf cart is (as of June 2026) NOT included in the rental price. We should have read more carefully in the caption of the photos. Note to self: read all the captions for caveats next time.Jan (the owner) was very cordial in her communications and was understanding when Vrbo changed the way they charged for the 2nd payment. Toward check-in there might have been too much communication, but I must remember that this will be the first visit to Destin for some families.I don't think our family will stay at Ocean Retreat Villa next year. We will look again for a house with attached bathrooms as that was our biggest want after our stay.

Great vacation home

We had a great experience, me and the family had no complaints, we received excellent communication from the Property manager and had a great stay/trip overall. The location of the property is great, you’re pretty much centered in Destin and have easy access to anywhere you need to go. The house is very large, plenty of space for the whole family.

What memories are made of!

Perfect Destin beach house

This house was perfect for my family. We loved the gated community, kids enjoyed the pool. The homeowner kept in touch and responded right away when I had questions. I've been coming to Destin for over 10 years and this house is my favorite!

Beautiful neighborhood, close to the beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Destin! This home was lovely and in a beautiful neighborhood. The heated pool and hot tub were the highlights! The golf cart was perfect for the short trip to the beautiful white-sand beach! Jan was easily accessible and quite helpful! We would definitely recommend!

Relaxing Vacation Destination

Perfect Week! Jan T and the house were both great. House has everything you could want. Great kitchen with all the amenities. Rooms and beds were all comfy. Pool was great for just relaxing and reading. Kids went to the beach everyday. Quick golf cart ride to drop them off and not a bad walk if necessary. Neighborhood is quiet and community center was great. Close drive to lots of restaurants and shopping (including grocery store). A all around.

Beautiful house

We loved this house! There are 5 bedrooms so we had plenty of room for our family. The pool is amazing & the property is close to the beach & restaurants. So many things were supplied with the house & communication was great! We hope to come back soon!

Quiet and Relaxing

Loved our stay. No issues with the home as the listing and photos are accurate. Quiet gated neighborhood. The pool was great for young kids and adult alikes. Plenty of pool floats, toys, towels available for use at the house (huge perk).

I'm Jan - lover of food, travel, exercise and meeting new people. My husband and I have adult twins that live in Atlanta, and we spend most of our time in Destin.

The Destiny East neighborhood is an upscale, gated community that has amenities that are unique to this HOA. When you come through gate, the streets are lined with pavers and sidewalks that lead to the beach. From the house, you can easily walk to the clubhouse to enjoy the community pool, spa, gym, theater, tennis, pickleball, basketball, and sidewalks for walking, biking and running to the beach. There is a tunnel that is part of the sidewalk that take you below the road.
The house is centrally located to explore everything that Destin and the surrounding areas have to offer.

When you walk into the house, your eyes lead you to the view of the lanai, salt-water private pool and spa. You will love basking in this pool and spa while everyday life melts away. At night-time there are LED, multi-colored lights. You will love relaxing in the screened-in lanai in the day, and night time with LED lights.
There are many upgrades including; quartz counters in the kitchen and bathrooms, upgraded tile floor in the master bedroom, new tile in the master shower and more.
The inside of this spacious house has an open concept kitchen, and high ceilings. The home is light, bright and airy with a lots of window and natural light. Plus, the two comfortable entertainment areas for your group/family to connect, gather and make memories.
