Great location on a channel, house comfortable for 4-6 family members

Enjoyed our second consecutive year at this location. Close to town yet quiet channel, easy pontoon docking, easy access to lake. Needs more comfortable mattress in main bedroom, new shower head in downstairs bathroom but otherwise great stay.

Great spot, nicely decorated, comfortable lake cottage!

Our family had a wonderful time relaxing at this cottage. We had a few very warm days but it stayed very comfortable downstairs & upstairs too. The Oakwood neighborhood is so nice & a great place for walking & the owner was very accommodating & answered our questions immediately. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice home in a quiet area. Neighbors were friendly, house was well equipped. The bedroom downstairs has a full size mattress not a queen so a bit small for two adults.

Very nice place. Some of the beds were lumpy .But overall very nice place nice and open. Located near the Oakwood which made everything convenient. Would do it again. Thanks David

Perfect week at the lake!

My husband, our adult children, and two grandchildren. Spend a wonderful week at this property on Lake Wawasee. Perfect location! My grandchildren could fish off of the pier, swim, and we were allowed to park our pontoon boat on their pier which helped tremendously. The house is accurately described. Wonderful sunroom, well stocked kitchen, and Beautiful open area to visit. Across from the house are basketball courts and grassy area for our grandkids to play. HIGHLY recommend!

RELAXING

The house was beautiful -- totally up to date, had everything we needed and more, open floorplan was perfect for our group when cooking and hanging out, back yard was peaceful backing up to water in a "cul-de-sac", location was convenient to stores/restaurants, lake was very nice for our boating (tubing, waterskiing), host was very accommodating and responsive when I had questions. We definitely will be back!

Cute cottage

Cute little cottage. Sleeps 6. Very clean and is comfy. Nice grill outside. Bedrooms upstairs connected-loft style. Narrow canal must back boat out of canal. Lake beautiful and clear. Enjoyed our week.

Enjoyable stay on Lake Wawasee

Great location on a quiet channel at Lake Wawasee. First floor open concept was recently renovated with modern feel. Nice enclosed sunroom and private boat tie off on channel. Does sleep 3 couples but only one private bedroom downstairs. The upstairs has a loft with queen bed and “bedroom” that has a door but a large square cutout in the wall facing the loft so the room is not really private. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Lake Wawasee

The property was great. The living space was enough for our family of 6 to eat and hangout. The beds were more tight for my older kids. If your short and skinny you will be fine..lol. I guess you have to remember its a lake house and location is everything. The house is walking distance from everything so that was why we picked this location. Owners were very nice and took care of any issues timemanner.

Overall good experience

We fit 6 adults comfortably. More than that would have been tight. Beautifully updated downstairs, except the shower doesn’t drain you have to use a squeegee. The upstairs bath was not updated at all, it was dark and no one felt comfortable using that shower. Other reviews said the upstairs was hot so we brought fans with us and were very comfortable. The lake is only a few houses down from the beginning of the channel. You can see it from the house.

Loved everything about our stay!

We’ve rented houses on several IN lakes over the years & this was by far the best home we’ve stayed in. Check-in and out was easy with the owner’s support & response time exceptional. Neighbors were incredibly friendly, helpful & also invested in making our stay a great experience. The community is beautiful. Tons of walkers every day & felt safe enough for our college-aged daughter to go on walks by herself. Oakwood Resort was also receptive & accommodating, allowing us to park our boat trailer out of the way on their property. The house was very well stocked with everything needed & more. You’ll want to bring beach towels, a spotlight for navigating the dark, narrow channel after night-time boat rides (though we had no issues without one), a fan or two for more air circulation upstairs (though we didn’t have any & were just fine) & extra bag(s) of ice if you’ve got a larger group. Love everything about this home away from home & would definitely go back!

Oakwood area rental

Love the property-great area to walk, great spot for hooking up boat for the week, kitchen cooking utensils provided were more than adequate; mattress downstairs could be upgraded, but otherwise enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for a week. The living area looks like pics. The plumbing barely works. They saved no money for the basics. Beds were very uncomfortable and the downstairs bathroom barely drained and shower barely spayed at all. We have stayed at oak wood for years and the cabins are basic but at least plumbing works. Also the AC doesn't work on second floor. We have stayed at many rentals and never, ever been charged with additional feed. Not this time. Was told there were pictures of dirty rugs that weren't provided and charged 200. Good luck

Excellent Vacation

We love staying here and had a wonderful vacation. The owners are wonderful! Communication was excellent and they were extremely friendly. The location is very peaceful and calm. We loved being so close to the Oakwood resort, which is just a short walk up the street. The home is located near all of the main restaurants that are situated on the water. It's not far from the main grocery store in town. There is a basketball and volleyball court across the street, which our boys enjoyed. We met all the neighbors (including those who live across the canal). Everyone was extremely friendly. We loved talking to everyone in the area. The home is cozy, modern, and clean. The laundry room made things convenient throughout the time we were there. We docked our boat at the home during the week. Just FYI for anyone with a boat: there is public boat launch on the south end of the lake. This house is on the northern end. I was able to orient myself on the water to different location using the Oakwood resort. My wife drove my truck and the boat trailer from the launch to the house (successfully, and so we're still married). The lake is awesome. The sandbar on the lake is really nice for swimming. *If you are taking a boat to this location and want any additional info, please feel free to contact me.

Syracuse rental in Oakwood

Could not access check in and check out info. When contacted VRBO help line, it stated it had no record of our reservation. In error, I had input an incorrect cell phone number to contact me for check in difficulty. Difficult to contact hosts. Very rough start to vacation

Wedding weekend

We rented this home for our son's wedding weekend at Lake Wawasee. The home was very nice in the main living area and decorated really cute. The beds were really creaky and the showers were in less than ideal condition. The upstairs is all open and not much air movement. Loved the enclosed back porch!

Frontline Getaway

The property is very cozy in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The park across the street is great for children to run off their energy while being able to keep a close and watchful eye from the house. There is plenty of dock space, with friendly property reminders placed nearby, to park a boat or 2. The house itself is very open and welcoming to its guests. There was not much parking space at the house itself, but the public lot is not very far down the way. Overall the neighborhood is very kind and welcoming other than a certain watchful eye who made it known to not take kindly to renters at this property. Regardless of a small challenge, everyone was absolutely grateful to finally have a break from our daily lives and jobs to enjoy the lake with our friends and family.

Lake Wauwausee

Beautiful home, very clean, great layout for dinners with family. The bedrooms upstair are open, no walls or doors which made it a little difficult. Also could use a fan upstairs, very hot.

Slow responding

The kitchen was amazing! Upstairs bedrooms were open concept and weren't listed as open concept. The main bedrooms mattress was not comfy. The whole place was pretty clean. Wasn't informed how the check in process was prior to my stay. The internet was slow and didn't get the best reception. Bring your own beach towels. There is no fire pit on the property :(. All in all I would stay here again in future.

Ladies weekend

We brought our boat down for the weekend and absolutely loved this location. The house is beautiful, tons of seating! Only downside was parking, the driveway was quite shallow making having a boat trailer a little complicated! 10/10 would stay here again!

Great Rental! Tucked away quietly in an otherwise busy area

Small, charming, renovated cottage on a shaded canal. Very clean, new linens, towels and kitchen supplies. Owners very helpful and responsive. View of the lake from small second floor balcony. 2 upstairs BRs are closer to open dorm room. No fire pit (need to change that picture), also needs a wi-fi upgrade. Very walkable location- paths, Oakwood, Restaurants. We would definitely rent there again.
