ATENCIÓN: La Autoridad del Parque Estatal Jekyll Island ha comenzado la restauración de dunas para la sección norte de la Isla Jekyll. Waste of time and money

Love Jekyll Island for its beauty. This review is about the rental. It is small but okay for 2 adults and dogs. The kitchen area was - nicely stocked with cookware, dishes,etc. The condo is dark, dank and has the worst furniture and bathroom. The sofa, chair and drapes are straight out of Grandma’s basement. Too low for adults to sit comfortably-same with table and chairs. The bathroom is unsuitable for adults-vanity,sink,toilet all outdated and too low. Shower outdated and uncomfortable. Bed is okay, linens clean and some of the decorative are really cute. No view from the patio-just shrub and brush. Two bad, because this place has such potential.

No beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Been coming to the villas for 20 years often on, love it, but having absolutely no access to the beach is a huge disappointment. If anything can be done about the stairs would definitely come back, otherwise thinking of renting elsewhere.

A Villa For Two

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As expected, this Villa is for a couple. The decor was average, the home clean. Given the size of the bedroom, there were no closets, so clothes hung on the provided hooks. The two chests of drawers were useful, however. The Villas as a group are a great place to stay. J R's front office staff was very accommodating. Check-in was effortless and the property was available early!

Not what we expected

Reviewer Comments: I loved being on Jekyll Island for 3 months even though everyone remarked that this time of year is usually rather warm; however, it was pretty cold. I wrapped myself up to keep warm. Lots to do: riding bikes and playing tennis and playing bridge. Only issue was the unit was very dark.

Nice place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo is one of the smaller units at Villas by the Se, but it was fine for us - a couple with a dog. I wish that filters for the coffee maker were included either at the property or in the gift bag. Also with there were hangers on the rod in the closet. Finally, the vanity in the bathroom is extremely low, just above my husband's knees. I had to sit on the toilet to put in my contact lenses!

February 2023 Stay

We’ve been staying at Villas by the Sea for years. This is a smaller unit but perfect for us (a couple and our dog). The decor is outdated but decor is not why we stay here. I would like to have had hangers on the closet rod and the bathroom vanity has got to be raised but overall a very comfortable place to stay for a long weekend. Clean and great location.

Nice Place. Could have been made nicer.

Nice Place, we enjoyed the unit and both the unit and grounds were pet friendly, our Westies enjoyed their vacation as much as the wife and I did. But, could have been made nicer if the interior details/accessories were properly maintained. Sliding glass door rollers/tracks were worn making door difficult to open. Screen door off track and adjustment screws were not properly installed - screen door practically inoperable - Screen door curtains also difficult to open. Back porch should have had a porch light. Top drawer to left of stove in kitchen off track - I put the drawer back on track several times but it came off track every time drawer opened. Utility closet filthy and incredibly cluttered. Both direct TV remotes faulty - the one for the bedroom TV had inoperable chanel change buttons (number pad); the one in the living room TV had inoperable volume button - I changed batteries to no effect, need new TV remotes. The bathroom vanity top was so low that I had to practically get on my knees to shave and brush my teeth - the vanity mirror so low that the entire top of my head was cut off, had to squat to see that my hair was properly brushed - I'm 5'11". On the positive side, The kitchen worked and was nicely equipped with silverware, glass ware, and pots and pans. Especially nice was the presence of a dishwasher. The HVAC system was efficient and effective. I would recommend the unit but for the money, I'll find better on my next Jekyll visit. Jekyll reality was GREAT to work with and if not staying in a hotel, I will always use them to find me a rental.
