Nice stay at the Challies Chalet. Property was nice and close enough (drive) to the local private beach (passes are supplied). We have Family that have a place on Pine which is why we chose to stay here. The property is located at the top of a steep hill that would be difficult to walk up, not a big deal for us but worth noting. Property was well equipped, had plenty of room, was clean and had everything you need for a nice stay. The only issues we had, which unfortunately is what you remember, were with the neighbors. Nothing too big, but on the first night we received a noise complaint from the Rental Company that we were "partying" at 2am, it definitely was not us as we were a smaller group of families with young kids and were all asleep by 10pm. Could have been a mistake, but there were only 2 other properties located by us. Secondly we moved a car out off the end of the driveway to let another car leave, parking across the street. The adjacent neighbor immediately came to tell us "only locals are allowed to park on the street". I get it there are rules, but we are talking minutes. The same neighbor also had 2 trucks and 2 bobcats parked on the street. I am not certain, but pretty sure this is the same neighbor who made the noise complaint. Seems like they just don't like short term renters in their neighborhood.

Weekend in the snow.

We had an amazing time spending quality time with my family. The house it self was very cute, nice and clean. Lots of games and books available to play and enjoy. We would definitely recommend.

Great House But Be Extremely Aware of the Neighbor

The arrival to the property started off with an ambush from the neighbor across the street. In order to back into the driveway of the rental property we had to drive up on a snow embankment across the street that was at the entrance to an access point of a conservancy lot that the neighbor uses for vehicle storage. He screamed at us and threw stuff at our car, and exclaimed that we were on private property. After further investigation, it turns out were not on private property, we were still within the constraints of the road, but because lines are invisible in the snow, it was an assumption on his part. It was an extremely unnerving experience and we were on egg shells with him our entire stay. In addition to this the refrigerator was broken, it appeared that it hadn't been functional in a while. The rental company had a mini fridge there upon arrival, but that was not enough, so we had to contact them and ask for more, so they ended up bringing 2 additional mini fridges. I would expect for a property that commands this type of money there would be a contingency plan to repair or replace broken appliances prior to guest arrival. Aside from those two overwhelmingly negative situations the house itself was pleasant. The sauna and game room were definitely enjoyable and the beds were comfortable. But for us, it's not worth dealing with that neighbor to return to the property ever again, life is too short to stress over narrow minded bullies; especially if you have to pay for it

Perfect start to 2025 in Tahoe City!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property from Jan 1-4th. The house is in a relatively convenient location for skiing in Palisades. The roads were plowed promptly during during a storm that came through, so we never had any issues getting to the house or leaving from it. The kitchen was well appointed, making it easy to home cook meals for our group. We enjoyed hanging out around the upstairs dining table and down in the game room. One small note (not a problem, but may be relevant to some groups) - the bedroom with the queen bed has the door to access the garage in it. So, we were frequently walking through that room.

Beautiful Stay in Tahoe City

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. It is lovely, and sits in a nice neighborhood close to the Lake. The location was a few minutes from the restaurants and shops of Tahoe City, but very quiet. We were surprised by the bear wires, given that we had never traveled to the area before, but got used to them quickly. I would happily recommend this home to others.

Beautiful home and very quiet neighborhood

Beautiful home in very quiet neighborhood. Located quite high up the side of a mountain area. Home had all the amenities we could possibly want however, the TV Wi-Fi was a bit spotty. Property management was very very helpful. I thank them for their hospitality. We would definitely stay in this home again of course it’s in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Lake Tahoe.

Nice Sunnyside location

My friends and I enjoyed our stay in this home. Our only complaint is not being provided with the small things like soap, shampoo, kleenex. Otherwise, it was great.

Perfect property

We enjoyed our stay very much. The property is beautiful, well decorated and clean. We had an issue and the property manager responded very quickly. Our 2 year old twin granddaughters enjoyed their bunk beds and play room.

Awesome Tahoe Rental

We had an incredible stay! The house was awesome for our family of 5, and my parents joined us for a couple of days. Great location. The Sauna and pool table were fantastic. The bedrooms were great, and the beds were comfy. The dining area fit our family and my brother's family very nicely. The only slight drawback was the Smart TV in the main area was a bit dated, and didn't have Disney or Apple TV app options for the kids. Otherwise, everything was top-notch. Would happily stay there again.

Great house for family time

We enjoyed our time together at this home. It met our expectations and needs for a family vacation. We would certainly stay there again. Great location to the activities we wanted to do. Quiet neighborhood. The roads were even kept clean with all the snow we had. Communication with rental company was spot on. Perfect memories were made.

Loved our stay!!!

We really appreciated staying in this beautiful and cozy home, very well situated, not a far drive from skiing at Palisades. Everything was terrific and very comfortable. This home is well appointed and there was plenty of space for our family of five. It was a welcoming place to return to after our days of skiing. Our young adults loved the pool table and sauna. Views of the pines were spectacular from the many windows, especially after the snow storm. We would recommend this home to any of our friends!

Beautiful Tahoe Home

Loved this house. Large, roomy, clean, and fully equipped. Great location in Tahoe City. We had a ton of fun with our grandsons playing pool. Location was great.

second time staying - loved it!

This was our second time staying here and we loved it just as much as the first. Tons of room, games for the kids, pool table, sauna, stocked kitchen. What isn't to like about this property. Will be staying here again in the future for sure.

50+ Inches of Snow - no problem

Lovely stay during the extreme snow event of 2023. This home is well up the mountain from the lake but with many homes in that area. While 4 wheel drive is recommended in the winter the roads and driveway were incrediblely well maintained. The owner makes the garage available so our cars were warm and dry. The home very well equiped and maintained and quite roomy. Great for family groups will a great play room for the kids. The kitchen and living room were also great and comportable for us adults. Thank you to the hosts and rental service company who present and responsive to our calls.

Vacation home

House was juat what we needed for 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 young ones in bunkbeds. Our only problem was all the unleashed dogs. 1, known as Merlin, chased and scared my little granddaughter. Not happy about all the dogs running loose. Besides that, it was a wonderful vacation home.

Felt like being at home

Very nice house, confortable, great social areas, too bad we couldn’t use the BBQ in the terrace. Kitchen very well equipped, very good utensils, cutlery and glassware, makes a difference when cooking, drinking a good wine or mixing your favorite drink.

Gorgeous home!

This home was beautiful and much larger in person. It had all of the amenities, games, and a fully stocked kitchen. It’s a quick drive to Palisades and downtown Tahoe city. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. Check in and check out were super easy and I will definitely plan on staying here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!
