My ONLY complaint is the massive amount of cobwebs and dead bugs in our cottage. Our girls were freaked out to sleep on the sofa bed because of all the webs and bugs on the lights and ceiling - both dead and alive. My husband had to clean the huge spider webs off of the light fixture over the kitchen table. It had dead moths and other bugs stuck in the web….not very welcoming and just plain gross. We would have cleaned the others off just to make the couple days better but didn’t have anything tall enough to reach the vaulted ceilings. ?? Pearla (spelling?) was awesome. She was incredibly helpful both times we called the office.

Nice space for 2 - overlook was peaceful. However, music from evening performances in the harbor area carried quite well. This was nice when the individual was a mellow folk-rock singer, but was a bit irritating when another performer leaned toward edgier music. All quiet by 9:30 pm. We stayed 4 nights, only received 2 dishwasher pods, and had to purchase additional to cover our needs. Seriously??

Because of our waterfront location, sound can carry across the harbor more than many guests expect. The Boardwalk does its best to be mindful of neighboring guests, which is why live music concludes by 9:00 p.m., allowing for quieter evenings afterward. Regarding the dishwasher pods, we provide a complimentary starter kit that includes a small supply of essentials, such as coffee and dishwasher pod, to help guests get settled. For longer stays, any additional supplies are the responsibility of the guest. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us better communicate what is included prior to arrival. Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

This was a very cute and close getaway for our 46th anniversary. We always expect to pay double the price when we celebrate because it lands on Memorial Day weekend. This was pricey and we did get anxious to start our weekend so we arrived before 3:00 check in and had to pay 40.00 extra to get in. I was honestly a bit disappointed because I emailed the host asking for an early check in but got no reply and maybe it would not of mattered, but it was ready of course and we thought about it later and was like hmm… we should of just waited.The instructions for check in was to go to the welcome center and get your “welcome kit”and parking pass, which was a map to the house and a receipt for the 40.00 dollars. We had a great time it was very relaxing and we enjoyed the property and the people were so friendly. I would of done a 5 star across the bar but we did have a issue with the shower not draining, (hubby cleaned the trap and it seemed better) and the TV kept losing connection each night which became a bummer come late evening. Over all it was a pleasant weekend and wonderful anniversary.

Wonderful little get away!

We were looking for a relaxing get away for two and we certainly found it at Heritage Harbor! The house was VERY clean. It was cozy and relaxing. Heritage Harbor is a safe little area with bright cheery rental houses lined up like doll houses. This cottage had a beautiful view with a deck overlooking the water. There was excellent communication for check in and check out. The nearby town of Ottawa has a bunch of cute little shops and great local restaurants. Too bad we did not stay long enough to try them all! It was also the perfect driving distance to Starved Rock State Park. The gorgeous hiking there is what we came for, and the great accommodations at Heritage Harbor will have us coming back, for sure!

The house we stayed at was great.

The house we stayed at was great. Clearly very new, but because of that it seemed to be missing a lot of the key "starter kit" items. We had to go buy dish soap, trash bags, salt, pepper, cooking spray, etc. We were hoping the house would have basic items like that but it seems like no one had ever really cooked in it. Your customer service was great

Receiving the email with all the house rules and events in Ottawa was very helpful, kudos to you for having everything at my fingertips. Our stay was wonderful.

Our stay was wonderful. I was able to kayak for the first time. It was a very relaxing weekend. Would definitely visit again, maybe next time in the fall. Only interacted with the marina staff. Very friendly and courtesy.
