Great Property Close to Beach

Came for Fourth of July with a group of friends. House is spacious and clean. Great patio/pool area to relax and only about a 10 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommended property.

Perfect property!

Booked Coastal Haven for my sons wedding weekend. We were hoping for enough room for 6 adults, and possible extra sleeping space just in case we had anyone needing a bed during the weekend. Turned out we had 8 for a couple nights and this house handled it beautifully!!! The property is well appointed, clean and spacious! We enjoyed the fabulous outside space and pool even when it was raining. Karen is a wonderful host who communicates promptly which I very much appreciated. We will definitely be returning!

Not well heated pool

The Good: easy check-in and check out process. About a 10 min walk to beach (need to cross A1A). Very close to a large children's park that the kids loved. The Not so Good: heater to pool was not working. Pool too cold to swim for the little kids. The guest room bathroom is in rough shape - bath was clogged with black film on bottom so that was unpleasant. Outdoor grill also very dirty.

Great location for beach and Mayo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I stayed at Coastal Haven in Jax Beach for 6 weeks while he received care at Mayo Clinic. It’s a short drive of under 10 min to Mayo. Since it was Nov-Jan during our stay we did not use the pool, but it was cleaned by a service regularly. Our dog was with us and he enjoyed the fenced back yard, but there are bare areas that became very muddy after rain or irrigation so take plenty of paw wipes as there are no back door floor mats for paws (or shoes!). The walk to the beach is not long, but would be a bit of a hassle if toting a lot of beach equipment. The neighborhood is good...lots of dog walkers and a short dog walk area near a canal nearby. The furnishings upstairs in the MBR are nice. It has the only 2 table lamps in the entire house ! It was a very comfortable mattress and soft linens. The MBR bathroom is spacious. The other 2 bedrooms are sparsely furnished with only beds (middle bedroom has a nightstand), but adequate for short stays I suppose. The furnishings downstairs are not particularly comfortable. The couches are well used with cushions that offer no support. The dining table and metal chairs are industrial so have held up well. The decor is dated and for the price of the rental, I was expecting more of a step up. It was nice having the 1/2 bath downstairs and the laundry area is sufficient. The kitchen is lacking somewhat in dinnerware (small bowls primarily and plastic ware for outside or kids use) and prep utensils like measuring spoons and cups (I did purchase these and leave at the house). The bake ware and pots and pans are all top notch. The owner is good to work with and responds quickly. The property was clean.

Coastal Haven (11/24/2021 - 12/01/2021)

We desperately wanted to love Coastal Haven, but can only give 3 stars and won't rent it again. THE GOOD - Property is spacious, inside and out. We hosted Thanksgiving for our family, some who we haven't seen for 18 months due to COVID. Our grandkids used the pool daily and the adults relaxed around the outdoor firepit and covered grill area. THE BAD - For the money we spent, we expected a near-perfect rental. This property didn't come close. Upon arrival, it had not been cleaned properly (coffee grinds in coffee maker, trash can full / stinky, counters dirty). Worse yet, the oven we critically needed for Thanksgiving hadn't been cleaned in some time. The caked-on grease was nauseating. Karen blamed her cleaning person and offered to send her back, but we didn't trust her and re-cleaned everything ourselves. The downstairs half-bath (the one everyone used because of its proximity to the great room/outside area) was not ready for guests. The hot water faucet was never hooked up, so people had to wash their hands using cold water. Also, the mirror was literally connected to the wall using blue painters tape. We prayed no one would get hurt. Although the heated pool was a great diversion for our grandkids, we had to skim and rake hundreds of leaves 3X per day to make the pool usable. Why? Because the picture of the backyard on VRBO is NOT accurate. The backyard trees and shrubs are severely overgrown and continuously drop leaves into the pool. THE UGLY - On Thanksgiving Eve, the kitchen sink started draining extremely slowly and the garbage disposal didn't work. On Thanksgiving, we reported the clog, and Karen sent a handyman on Friday who advised the gears were shot. He reported this to Karen who took no action to replace it during our stay. NOTHING screams vacation like having to hand-wash dishes for 21 meals while waiting for the water to drain enough so you could rinse the dishes in clean water. THE LITTLE THINGS - Over the sink, there is a wooden plaque that reads "Little Things". That's what was missing from this rental. Karen responds via text promptly, but doesn't follow through. On her VRBO listing, there's a picture of an indoor fireplace, but it doesn't work. We requested to have more than 3 cars in the driveway for Thanksgiving dinner, but were told "No", so family had to park a half-mile away and walk. It's always the little things. We have pictures and video of these issues, but there is no way to post them on VRBO.

Beautiful summer week!

This was our second visit to Coastal Haven! The first during our son's wedding, and now, after the birth of our first grandchild! This home is wonderful for family and friends to gather and enjoy all the Jax beach area has to offer. The fenced yard and pool are private and inviting, and the main living area is cozy for a few, or a much larger crowd! The host has thought of everything and responds promptly to any question or issue! We will absolutely return!

It was definitely worn down house and not as clean as I would have liked.

Spring Break

Our family truly enjoyed staying at this house. We have stayed at several houses in the Jax Beach area and this is one of our favorites. The main floor is an open floor plan and accommodates a large family. The heated pool was a great bonus for the kids to enjoy swimming at this time of the year when the water is not very warm. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space for our whole family (all 7 of us). It is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. The kids *loved* the pool. My 8 year old asked multiple times if we could move in permanently :-)

Family Vacation to the beach

The home was beautiful and looks just like the pictures! The swimming pool was a favorite place for the family. Karen was kind and communicated quickly and efficiently. The house location to the beach and restaurants was ideal.

Perfect Family Reunion!

Fabulous few days at Coastal Haven! Our family of 6 was able to reunite for a few precious days and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jax Beach. The home was perfection! The backyard felt like a little oasis for us! Karen added special touches to our visit and was prompt and attentive as an owner. We will certainly keep the property at the top of our list for our next visit.

Birthday Fun For My Daughter

We wanted a place close to the beach and comfortable for our group. This place checked all of the boxes. Grocery stores and restaurants are close. The kitchen is spacious making it easy to host everyone. The pool and backyard were perfect. We had a great time and will stay here again.

Beautiful house

This place was amazing for family coming in! Everything was comfortable clean! Hanging out and grilling was the best instead of going out during COVID! I honestly didn’t care to leave the house because it had everything we needed. The pool was the perfect addition! 6 of us were more than comfortable.. could have for 8 just as well. The owner was the icing o the cake! Answered every question immediately! I’ll definitely be booking this again soon!

Perfection!

We booked this home for our family of 8 with a dog. The home was perfect for our families Thanksgiving dinner. The backyard was a paradise. We relaxed by the pool and enjoyed fires in the poolside fire pit every night. We walked to the beach daily to enjoy some sand in our toes. There was parking available near the beach access but we opted to get some steps in! Everything you need to rest and rejuvenate is available in this home.
