Well, every so often we get a clunker, and this is one of those times. I am very familiar with this villa as I personally did a majority of the renovation and furnishing in 2020, and I gutted and redesigned the bathrooms in 2022. As I could not imagine what on earth would elicit such a poor review, I went to the villa this morning to investigate. I wholeheartedly disagree with Mrs. Barber's assertions, with the exception of some dust on baseboards, which will be rectified today. There is no staining of baseboards that I could find anywhere. The furniture is not tired and the rug in the primary bedroom (a specially selected Safavieh wool rug) is not worn out. The villa is not cavernous. I found a small fleck of paint missing on one kitchen cabinet approximately the size of 1/8 of an M and M. The edges of the cabinets are "rubbed", which is an aesthetic finish of which Mr. Barber may not be familiar. I do know is that the Barbers did not reach out to us to request additional cleaning, even though I left them (as with every guest) a personal note to call me directly if anything is amiss and I will ensure prompt service. Not a peep. However, the Barbers stay did coincide with the worst Memorial day weekend weather on record-- wind, rain, and temps in the upper 50's. It has been my experience over nearly 17 years in the industry that people are most upset about anything and everything when the weather "ruins" their trip. These statements are not an accurate representation of this lovely property, but sadly, will live forever on the internet. Hello Jim and Nicole-- Horrors! We never heard a peep from you! Our 24 hour contact number is printed in lots of places for your immediate use whenever needed. We have no contact from you at all-- Cleanliness is paramount to us and if there was a cleaning need, we would have been there in a jiffy. Truly. All you have to do is call. We wish no one ever saw a palmetto bug on Hilton Head, but if they do, again, all is needed is a call. Plus- we supply a plethora of cleaning products in our properties, always to include Clorox products. And honestly, dear readers, these bathrooms have been updated. I do not often disagree with our reviewers, but this is one is unfair and untrue. Sigh. Beverly
