Oceanview 2 BR cottage across from Pleasant Beach!

Location, location... steps from the beach with an ocean view! Steps Away Beach Cottage is a great coastal location for families with children and couples too! We are situated on a quiet cul-de-sac just across the street from Pleasant Beach in West Harwich. Guests love the privacy of the location and of course, the easy beach access. We have off-street parking so you don't have to worry about a beach sticker. Free WiFi and cable/Roku are provided.

Steps Away is a traditional New England-style cape with a later addition, forming a duplex with private, separate entrances and outdoor areas. Both suites have ocean views. This listing is for the 1100 sq. ft. Dune Suite, a two-bedroom suite with with fully-equipped kitchen, living/dining room area, 1.5 baths and sleeps up to 5. Free WiFi is provided.

The Dune Suite has one large bedroom with a King sleigh bed and a bunk bed, plus one small bedroom with a single twin bed. The primary bedroom has plenty of light with sliders to the backyard plus two sunlit French doors out to the patio areas. There's a TV in this bedroom with Roku access to Netflix, Max (HBO) Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock and Disney+. The small bedroom, perfect for a child, has just enough room for the bed, bureau and a sink. Both bedrooms adjoin a water closet, and a full bathroom is off the hallway.

You'll have everything you need with a fully equipped galley kitchen, living room/dining room combination and pull-out queen sleep sofa. The living area has a cable access plus Roku streaming access as well. There is a large bay window with a peaceful view of the cul-de-sac and the ocean over the rise. You'll have a spacious backyard perfect for ball games, badminton and corn hole.

This is a family-owned cottage and most of our guests having been staying with us for 10+ years.

Pleasant Road Beach is a public, family-oriented beach with approximately 100 plus yards of natural shoreline. In addition to sunbathing, swimming, shell collecting and boogie-boarding, you can also stroll the water’s edge for approximately a mile in either direction. One can even walk past the breakwater to swim across the Herring River into Dennisport and back. The breeze is great for kite-flying and listening to the surf in the evening.

The cottage itself is a Duplex, with adjoining but separate and private suites. The Dune Suite enjoys private access and a completely private "home" environment including living room, kitchen, full bath and bedrooms.

West Harwich, Massachusetts is just west of the cape “elbow” and just east of all the upper Cape congestion. The drive from Boston is approximately 1-1/2 hours. West Harwich enjoys a mid-Cape Cod location, offering visitors easy access to the warm-water beaches of the Nantucket Sound. A quaint Cape town in its own right, West Harwich is also an ideal staging area for exploring the classic New England seashore that Cape Cod exemplifies.

Harwich is known for its many cranberry salt bogs, which produce cranberries that are commercially farmed. Harwich also contains the largest lake on the Cape, called Long Pond, which serves as a private airport for seaplanes. Harwich enjoys access to the Rail Trail, a wonderful 25.5-mile paved biking path that extends from Dennis to Wellfleet. In the summer, the town is host to the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The team plays at Whitehouse Field.

Steps Away is close to everything you'll need, but out of the mainstream resort traffic. Except for the grocery store, you never have to leave. If you desire more activity, we are minutes to restaurants, bike trails, golf, tennis, kayaking and more. There are nearby activities for children such as the trampolines, race cars, baseball cage and bumper boats. Two free off-street parking spots are provided.

The cottage is situated on a 1/4 acre, just steps from the warm water of Nantucket Sound. We are the second house from the beach on a private cul-de-sac at Pleasant Road Beach. Our guests have access to the beach across the quiet road and up through our deeded right-of-way beach path. It’s a convenient and less than a minute walk to Pleasant Road Beach, ideal for families with children. The beach has clean, soft, white sand with gentle waves. It's the 'warm' side of the Cape without the dramatic low tides of the Bay side.
Please note, upon booking you will receive a link to our rental agreement, which much be signed in order to finalize your reservation. We are happy to share that we do not charge an up-front cleaning fee in order to provide value to our guests. We do expect guests to leave the property clean as they had found it. A simple and reasonable check-out list will be provided to you. Guest will be charged for any special or unreasonable cleaning needed.

No candles, smoking or open flames, except for the outdoor barbeque grill.

Parties and events are not allowed. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood with no loud music or noise allowed after 10pm.
