The Casa de Montaña
is a beautiful cabin home nestled against the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah Valley.
The cabin features a cathedral ceiling, which includes warm, indirect lighting. As you enter our home, you will settle into the ample open space which consists of a beautiful modern kitchen with amenities that include a dishwasher, toaster, Keurig and standard-drip coffee maker, convection oven and range, large microwave, and refrigerator with filtered water access. The dining space features a modern farmhouse-style table that seats 10 comfortably. The living space features a floor-to-ceiling stone gas-log fireplace and a smart TV for your entertainment. If you need to use your computer, there is a desk with a USB connection and free Wi-Fi for your convenience. On the North end of the house are two comfortable bedrooms – one with a single queen bed, and the other with two large bunk beds – a fun place for the kids to stay up late reading, telling each other stories, or playing games. Each room has a closet and plenty of dresser space. These two rooms share a bathroom with dual sinks, a standard shower, and a bathtub.
On the Southern side of the house is the primary bedroom, also with a grand, vaulted ceiling and indirect lighting, including separate RGB lighting strips that you can change to any color you wish! The primary bathroom is beautiful, with dual vessel sinks, a walk-in closet, and a massive stone shower with two independently controlled shower heads!
Moving on to the downstairs, you will find a large gaming and entertainment space with an air hockey table and skee-ball game! In addition, there are lots of board games and a child's area for their independent play. If you bring adult beverages, there is a bar and a place for storage of your beverages of choice. There's also a massive sofa for everyone to use while enjoying the 75" smart TV when not able to get to the outdoors. In addition to the entertainment features, there is another bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom. When needed, we have a laundry room with a modern washer and dryer for your convenience.
In the back of the cabin, there is a hot tub that fits 7, a grill, and a large seating area with a fire pit. Casa de Montaña is conveniently located just outside the town of Shenandoah, VA, about 20 minutes from anywhere you could want to be. The Massanutten ski resort is just west, Luray is just North, along with Luray Caverns and lots of shopping opportunities. One of the entrances to Skyline Drive is located to your South, just east of Elkton (Swith Run Gap) on Route 33; the other is located just north in Luray (Thornton Gap). There are tons of wonderful places to visit, including restaurants, shops, breweries, vineyards, and more.
A Video Surveillance camera monitors the exterior parking/driveway of our home. Footage remains private and may be used for liability reasons only.
NOTE: Nightly Rate is based on two guests. Extra Guests: $30.00 per person per night. The sliding scale allows us to make our home affordable to a wide range of group sizes, rather than setting our rent at a higher base rate for the entire house. We do verify the number of guests during your stay, so please provide accurate information. Please see the contract agreement for details regarding additional guests not accounted for on the reservation.

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, the driveway is a gravel or hard packed dirt surface. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing their property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $2500 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $59 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
