The Space:

Inside, you’ll find comfortable spaces to relax, recharge, and reconnect. Outside, the enclosed private yard gives you your own private slice of calm, perfect for morning stretches, evening chats, or letting the day unwind naturally. Perfect yard for that extra kiddo or pup energy too!



When you’re ready to turn up the whole group's vacation energy, enjoy special guest access to the nearby Redfish Pool Bar's pool, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Beach day? Check. Pool day? Also check. Best of both worlds? Absolutely.

The Neighborhood:

You’re right near Galveston's Seawall — a long, scenic promenade stretching over 10 miles along the Gulf shoreline. It’s a magnet for joggers, sunset strollers, cyclists, and morning coffee seekers watching fishing pelicans dip in the surf. The Seawall itself doubles as a kind of beachfront town square: sandy access points, benches for people-watching, and sea views. This stretch is often considered the beachy core of Galveston’s visitor experience. Sea spray in the air, distant wave crash rhythms, and that relaxed “island time” vibe are all part of the daily soundtrack.



Right in the middle of it all sits Gaido’s Seafood Restaurant, a century-old institution beloved locally and nationally, and Nick's Kitchen and Beach Bar. It means you’re steps away from iconic Gulf seafood with old-school Southern flare whenever hunger calls.



Getting Around:

Most activities are within walking distance from this central spot. However, Uber and Lyft are widely available and convenient for evenings out. Seasonal trolley service runs along parts of the Seawall and into downtown, which is a charming, car-free way to sightseeing.

When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!

Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.

Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!



979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:

All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!



CANCELLATION POLICY:

When booking direct with 979, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations. After 24 hours, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.



Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. When booking through a 3rd party channel, the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking is the cancellation policy on your reservation.
