Wow, summer is finally here. On most sunny days, the water will be Caribbean blue-green and due to the shallow bay, it warms up quickly. 4 kayaks are waiting for you on the beach along with seating and a fire pit near the water. Firewood is already at the property for your campfire and smores.
Long roasting sticks above the refrigerator and a well-stocked Keurig station are awaiting your sunset and sunrise experiences. This amazing, comfortable, well-appointed home is waiting for you. In case you forgot your firewood, we start the season with 2 full cords on hand for our guests to use (and there is still some on site).
Looking forward to Autumn: Unlike other vacation properties that close for Autumn and Winter, we remain open to be your haven from the stresses of life, work and you can rejuvenate with family. The house is cozy and warm and as the temperature dips, you can keep toasty and comfortable with the new, clean, high efficiency gas furnace, the beautiful wood burning fireplace and plenty of blankets and comforters for you to snuggle with. I am keeping the pantry well stocked with extra soup and hot cocoa for your enjoyment if you forget something on the way up. Enjoy a broad offering of dozens of great coffee types and brands from our Keurig coffee center.
The beach is still the most incredible beach in the state...don't take my word for it, read the testimonials and look at the photos. Collect shells, driftwood or Petoskey stones. We keep getting requests to send photos of the "current" beach because many have heard that the changing Lake Huron waters have damaged the Michigan shoreline. Our beach is just as amazing as it looks!
The view from this property is breathtaking and the level, rear yard is a great site for lawn games, camping or driving golf balls hundreds of yards onto a watery fairway. This vantage point is ~55 feet above the beach and the 67 steps from the bluff will bring you down to a massive, soft-sand beach that is a gift from the glacial activity that created the Great Lakes. The water off-shore is shallow; only chest-deep 100 yards out. Watch the kids on the beach from the bluff or from the fire pit on the shore.
The large, well-maintained yard is excellent for games and lounging. The rear patio has comfortable seating for 6, a small picnic table for the kids and a larger picnic table nearby, can also seat 6.
Enjoy the steady breeze off the water or relax in the home's heat or central A/C if needed. The spacious, east patio includes a gas BBQ and comfortable seating to enjoy your stay. If outdoor BBQ is your passion, a good set of tools will be found in the second kitchen drawer and no less than 5 extra tanks of LP gas are on site if you find a way to empty a tank (two spare tanks are usually kept in the gray gardening shed). From evening campfires on the beach with the extra-long marshmallow sticks we provide, or fires on the bluff that overlooks the beach, you will be pleased that so much beauty and convenience can be found in one location. Everyone who visits here, never wants to leave. Oh, and watch for the bald eagles that roost in the nearby trees. At night, listen for the owls in the same trees as they hoot.
The large and roomy house was planned and equipped with you in mind and for the sole purpose of letting everyone unwind in comfort. Look in the closets and cupboards and you will find things we hope you will use and enjoy. Game cabinets are stocked with card games and board games. In the kitchen, a pantry is stocked with Mac and Cheese, tea, honey, condiments, spices, popcorn and numerous other things to quell your cravings or to blunt the pangs of forgetting something at home. If there is something we can do to make this the best stay possible, please let us know in advance and we will try to accommodate. We can arrange for grocery stocking, massage, and chef's dinners if you are seeking the ultimate stay. This is already our Best Beach House and Bluff and we want it to be yours too.
For your stay, there is clean city water, city sewer and a tankless water heater to give you that 1-hour shower or hot bath that you've always wanted to take but could not find the time for. If you check the bathroom vanity drawer, there's even a clean rubber duckie and plastic boats for your ultimate tub experience.
At the end of your stay, our team will thoroughly clean the property and disinfect it in preparation for the next tenant. We use a combination of Benefect Decon-30 and a Quaternary Ammonia Disinfectant (Onslaught or Lysol as available) to ensure that all of the handles, switches, counters and appliances are clean and safe for all of our guests. Our sheets and pillowcases are laundered in high temperature (140 degree) water and are clean and sanitary.
Since leisure and music go together well, I have provided the Dell computer and Bose Acoustic Wave sound system with a hard drive containing over 4600 albums of music for your listening indulgence. Do I have rock, country, soul, classical, jazz and Christmas music? YES, tons of it. Make a 200 song play list of your favorites and hit repeat or shuffle...then smile and relax.
Paula and I renovated this home for the purpose of having a beautiful vacation site for friends, children and grandchildren to enjoy... and they love this home (as do we). It is our honor to share this amazing home with you and to help you make some wonderful, new, best memories of your life.
