The Turtle's Nest. Spacious house - close to the village, golf and beach!

This bright, lively home has room enough for two families or a group of friends looking for the perfect getaway for their St. Simons Island vacation. Make a home cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen with extensive counter space. Or, if you're feeling creative, pick up some local seafood and take it outside to the charcoal grill.

Enjoy the living room and a large screen TV for streaming or the comfortable front porch. Rounding out the main level is a master bedroom with a King size bed with en-suite with garden tub and separate walk-in shower.

On the second floor, you'll enjoy the use of a private washer and dryer for your swimsuits and sundresses. Three bedrooms rest on this floor, containing two queen bedrooms and a bedroom with two twin beds. There will be no arguments over the shower in the morning with a total of four full bathrooms.

After a long day at the beach, shower off the sand in the outdoor shower before joining everyone in the downstairs den and playroom. Relax on the couch with a movie playing on the TV or get everyone around the card table and play games! There is a full bathroom downstairs with a walk-in shower.

What's Nearby: While you will be in a quiet neighborhood, you are still going to be close to all kinds of island activities. When you get hungry and don't feel like cooking yourself, walk to one of the many restaurants located just blocks away. Just over a half mile away from your front door is St. Simons Island Lighthouse Museum, Neptune Park, and St. Simons Pier, all offering unique oceanfront experiences for you and your group. You can even find golfing just two miles away at Seaside Golf Course!

Parking: Parking is available for up to 2 cars in the driveway

What to Expect in your Unit:
Linens (Bath towels and bed sheets) are provided and a Starting Supply of Toilet Paper, Soap, Paper Towels and Trash Bags (Any additional supplies needed during tenancy will be the responsibility of the guest.)

Our host was very gracious and made certain the house was ready for our group when we arrived. The layout was perfect for our three couples and a toddler. It is well equipped and close to our favorite restaurants, the beach and the village. We had a great stay and can’t wait to return!

Absolutely loved our stay! The owner of this property thought of everything and everybody. Great home for large family or two families traveling together! Quick easy walk to the beach. Would stay here again! Being a dog friendly rental is a plus. 🐾

Perfect for Families

House was spacious and located conveniently near the beach and great restaurants. Very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. There were a couple of items we noticed that need attention: the screen on the main level porch needs to be reattached in a couple of spots where it has separated from the frame, and there is a large hole the drywall outside the master bedroom that needs to be repaired. These were minor items that did not negatively affect our stay.

Awesome family house

This house was even better than we imagined. Spacious bedrooms with new hardwood floors, dog friendly, close to town and beach. It also had the most well stocked kitchen I have ever seen which made our Christmas cooking so easy! Shoutout to Julie who delivered us a new coffee pot on Christmas Eve when the original one quit on us. Response time with realty company was great. Great people to work with.

We did have problems with the TV/Cable and the property manager was quick to help. We had ongoing issues trying to figure out the Nest AC controller-- I think written directions for the units would be helpful. The beds were all pretty firm. It would be nice to offer some beach chairs/toys for guests to use. Parking was difficult with only having space for 2 cars however we knew this going in. Overall- nice large house that can accommodate many.

This is a great beach for little kids because it’s shallow and has a lot of beach. The house was a nice layout for our extended family. The house was well maintained and staff at Real Escapes were very friendly and easy to work with. The house is in a great location and is walkable to the beach but if you have small children or a bunch of beach stuff the golf cart and bikes were nice to have. My only complaint about our stay is that the house wasn’t well stocked with paper goods (tp, trash bag, Tupperware etc) but all that stuff can be found at Winn Dixie!

This is our fourth year coming to SSI on the same week but our first stay at this house (our previous house was not available this year). The location is great - short walk to the beach and also walkable to the downtown area and local restaurants. The house gave us and our dogs plenty of space. We especially loved the screened in porch to relax on in the evening! We already booked this same house again for next year.

Great Location & Home

The home had everything we needed for a wonderful girls trip. It was a perfect spot to easily walk to the beach and enjoy the Island. The property company was so helpful and check in/out was a breeze. Would def. recommend!

Great location

Nice kitchen and main room, beds were all comfortable, Rode bikes or golf cart almost everywhere. The parking is very limited, The house is three stories high so a lot of stairs to climb nobody nobody in my group minded I stayed on the third floor by choice for the extra exercise it was great. The only things the house needs were washcloths, more towels and a roasting pan in the kitchen. Overall it was a great place to stay, Great location close to the beach, the village and restaurants.

Great Stay

The home was bigger than we expected and we were all able to spread out comfortably (10 people). Lots of toys and necessities for our children and baby. The house was very clean. The appliances were not working well...dishwasher was not cleaning dishes during the cycle and the refrigerator was not cold whatsoever the entire visit. I have noticed other reviews complaining about the appliances since last year so they should definitely be replaced by now. Overall great stay and perfect location to walk to stores and restaurants on the island!

Nice House But There Were Issues

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family had a nice reunion at The Turtle's Nest, despite a number of issues with the house. Upon arrival, we noticed that the living room tv was not working properly. Though Real Escapes immediately sent over a technician, the problem was not revolved during our stay. There was also a problem with the ac on the top level. Once again, a technician was sent immediately and informed us that the compressor was overheated to the point that it was difficult for him to even touch it. With time, the problem seemed to be fixed. Additionally, we noticed that the dishwashing cycle never ended without our intervention. Only one bathroom had soap and shampoo. A number of light bulbs were burned out and had to be replaced. Absent these issues, we would have had no complaints with the house.

Great Family Retreat

Booked our annual beach trip including 10 family members from all over. I accommodations were great and plenty of boardgames and entertainment for the kids. Also, add nice rocking chair front porch and screened in rear porches. Had a great time. Will be back.

Wonderful stay at SSI

We rented the Turtle Nest for our family of five with three teenage daughters, and my mother- and father-in-law. The location is perfect with easy access to the beach and activities. The living spaces have a lot more room than the pictures give it credit for. We had lovely weather so we spent a lot of time on the screened porch and front porch. The game table/bumper pool is a nice addition. Our kids are older so we didn't need the playhouse or other toys, but I know I would have appreciated them a few years back!The house was clean and all the furnishings were comfortable, yet it wasn't fussy so we weren't afraid we'd break anything (I'm a bit of a nervous nellie, so that's important!) We would absolutely refer friends and family to stay at the Turtle Nest!
