Breakers 9 - Oceanfront

Ocean Front Condo in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina is in the heart of the OBX. You get a feeling of privacy in this small condo complex. Enjoy the open floor plans great ocean views from the deck, living room, dining area and clear through to the kitchen, while the protective dune and the architecture combine to give you a feeling like you have paradise all to yourself. You can see the ocean, can not see the beach and they cant see you. Beautiful ocean sunrises. The Interior was completely remodeled in 2020. Beautiful waterproof laminate flooring, custom cabinets and granite countertops. All new appliances and well stocked kitchen make it a joy to cook in. The entire Condo is an easy cleaning, maintenance free, must see. The dune deck has all new handrails and stairs, the pool was resurfaced spring of 2020. All you have to do is come and enjoy all there is to offer. There are 2 bedrooms with new carpeting. The Master bedroom has 2 closets, 1 with a vanity area. The 2 bathrooms downstairs with all new Vanities, lighting and flooring. All new 2018 heating and air, Water heater, windows, siding, roof and decks. Comes fully furnished as pictured. Bed linens are provided, please bring your own towels. Includes a Fuse ball table, 65 inch smart TV, Antique look Wifi compatible radio, Vintage look modern phone, a library of books and board games, so you can easily use it as a rental when you are not able to enjoy it yourself. There are restaurants and shopping all around. Walk to dinner or enjoy a nice bike ride. Local attractions so close you can see them from the dune deck: Wright Brothers memorial, Nags head Woods nature Preserve, Nags Head Fishing Pier to the south and Avalon Fishing Pier to the north. Also close by are, Jockey's Ridge and Jeanette's Pier.

Everything was great. The unit was clean. The pool was nice. The mat on the path to the beach was nice. The owner was great and even dropping off beach chairs and an umbrella for us to use. Our first day their we got to dolphins swimming as soon as we walked down the path to the beach. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice condo in KDH

Condo is as described, close to the beach, restaurants and other activities. We had a couple of minor questions and the property manager promptly took care of them. Highly recommend and will stay here again.

Excellent destination spot in OBX

Amazing proximity to everything. This property was just what we wanted for a family of four trip to OBX. Just a short walk through the private community pool area to the beach, great biking trails right outside our door, and a condo that was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Jack was easy to communicate with and check in/out was a breeze. Jack even made sure we had everything we needed for the beach. We highly recommend this condo and will definitely be booking here again.

Fun Time

The Condo was great. Very open floor plan. The kitchen was nice and had everything you needed to fix meals. The beds were comfortable. It was located very close to attractions and restaurants but it still felt very private. The host was was very gracious and made sure you had everything you needed. Nice pool area. We were able to view sunrise from our living room and balcony. We had a great time.

Amazing Beach House!!

This is a beautiful beach house in the most perfect location! You can walk to the beach in less than a minute, just out the front door and around the pool, so easy. The hose on the boardwalk was great to wash all of the sand off yourself and your belongings before going back to the pool. We really appreciated the long beach mat laid out from the end of the boardwalk down the dune, it helped to get up and down a lot easier and probably helps protect the dune too. We saw a turtle nest on the beach which was cool! The home had everything we needed to have a great stay. I highly recommend this house!!

Great location and communication

The location of the VRBO was as stated and very convenient. The owner was very communicative, which was especially helpful when we could not open the door because it sticks or when a hair dryer was not to be found in the condo. He had one delivered within the hour. Twice in the listing it mentions a hot tub/spa, but there is no hot tub, only a pool. When trip planning, we were between two vrbos and chose this one because of the hot tub. To help future renters, the laundry requires $1.50 in quarters and is in its own room in the breezeway, not in the condo itself. The beds were comfy, the bath towels were fluffy and clean, and we liked all the photos and decor. It was very quiet there at night. Again, the location means a lot when you are renting for vacation and this one provides convenience for restaurants (American Pie was close, fast, and good), the Wright brothers' memorial, and Jockeys Ridge, and great proximity to the beach.

Stay at Breakers 9

My wife and I always enjoy vacationing in the Outer Banks with friends and family that stay locally as well. Kayak tour on the Bay side was great, really good food at Millers and Kill Devil Hill Grill, Bike rentals are fun, and love Jockey’s Ridge! We have stayed in Duck & South Nags Head in past years. Kill Devil Hills was nice but we did prefer the other areas as they are less commercialized and have bike paths right on rt. 12. Outer Banks is great vacation that we will continue visiting, but we cannot recommend booking this condo. The place did have some deficiencies but our main issue was the owner. On our last day of vacation, we received an aggressive text from the owner regarding a dog and asking us for a proposal to make amends or he would involve VRBO and go after our security deposit. After departure the owner provided false cleaning/damage claims to Vrbo for a portion of our Refundable Damage Deposit. My wife and I always clean thoroughly and we definitely did this time as well. There was absolutely no sand, hair or a hole anywhere as he claimed. He actually said there was hair in the refrigerator. When departing, we took many pictures/video’s and provided to VRBO Travel Care that showed all claims were untrue. After departure, the owner text me a picture of us in the local neighborhood (not at the property).This was very concerning! All of our previous stays with Vrbo have been positive and we plan to continue using in the future.

Home away from home, with a view!

This trip was special to celebrate life of my dad and his passing 8 years ago. I truly enjoyed receiving the messages from John just a few days prior, with details "to know" for our arrival and wonderful enticing pictures to help with the countdown of our first day back in OBX. Great communication! Located near everything and anything you would want to do! The condo, unit 9 had an amazing layout and balcony opening directly to the dune with view of the ocean. We enjoyed watching all the ghost crabs in the sand. Lovely unobstructed views for sunsets and sunrises. The kitchen is full service with everything you need! The beds were comfortable- which is truly important when your staying for a week. The water pressure was awesome! My mom is curious by nature and enjoyed meeting new people 🤗 The property is well maintained. You can tell they truly care about the area and it's guests. We enjoyed the rolled mat to the beach, making the walkway to the beach/pool area more natural and easier to walk on barefoot. Truly was a wonderful addition to our OBX memories. Great place to stay on the Kill Devil Hills Beach

Our family (2 adults and older teenager) really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent and it is very easy to walk to many restaurants, bars, activities and ice cream parlors in the vicinity. A short drive is all it takes to get to even more things (grocery, gas, mini golf, etc.). The condo is located in a small complex made up of nine condos. It has its own pool and private beach access. We never found the beach too crowded walking down from the private access. The condo is closest to the dunes and the deck has a view of the ocean - though the view is not great while sitting down. The two bedrooms are downstairs and living room, dining room and kitchen are upstairs. Everything upstairs has been redone recently. Downstairs is more original but certain was very comfortable. The unit is well equipped and I can not recall needing anything that was not provided. WIFI was strong and worked well when I had to do a little work. The owner communicated well and was very helpful and attentive. He made available beach chair and umbrellas and bikes. He lives nearby and manages a few units so was actually around the complex quite a bit if there was a need. If you are looking for a good place to stay in a good location with easy access to many things, you should consider.

Excellent place to stay!

This is our 2nd year staying at the Breakers and it was even better the 2nd time! We stayed in Unit 9 this year and Unit 8 the year before. Both units were very clean and the owner was extremely responsive and accommodating. The location is great. It is right on the beach with a pool to use as well. You can walk to several good restaurants and there is a Brewery across the street. We will be back!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful vacation at OBX at this property. The unit is directly on the beach and renovated. The host was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!
