April 2024 Stay

We are Jekyll Island fans. This was a good last minute find when looking for a pet friendly partial week. We booked only a week ahead and it worked for us. (4 adults and infant) We enjoyed the seclusion in the neighborhood and within walking distance to the beach. Lots of nearby sites for fishing, beach, golf, biking, putt putt. We ate at home because previous trips prove to be long waits at local restaurants. There are several bicycles at Hiddn Gem, but we didn't use them so can't vouch for working order. Home owner is right next door but we only saw them once, which was fine. This is an older 2br, 1.5 bath duplex home, clean, well furnished with some updating. A nice screened back porch, easy 2 vehicle paved driveway. The deer outback nearly ate apples from our hands which was a treat. Overall comfortable. Thank you Jekyll Realty for notifying us when it was ready and eliminating the stop at the office on the way in. We dropped keys off for check out with ease.

Tues- Saturday Last minute find

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a good last minute, animal friendly find. We booked a partial week only a week ahead of time and it worked for us. Worst water has ever looked. Jekyll Realty was not truthful.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was as described and very clean. On two of the days tap & bath water ran yellow. We were supposed to stay from the 19th through the 26th however we left on the 22nd. Despite asking questions about the quality of the water on the beach at Jekyll Island prior to booking our reservation & again when making our final payment we were told we had nothing to worry about and that the beach water was perfectly fine. I specifically asked about the muddiness of the water because we had experience that on our last stay on Jekyll, and wanted to make sure that beach beautification had been done to bring back the sand, so that you weren’t stepping in mud when entering the water. We were again told no issues. Once on the island, we were greeted with black and dark, brown, muddy water, rolling in on every wave to the point where we did not feel comfortable, even getting in the water. We left early on the 22nd & no one from Jekyll Realty reached out to us. The yellow water was temporary due to work on water tower.

August 2023 Stay

The home was as described and very clean. On two of the days tap & bath water ran yellow. We were supposed to stay from the 19th through the 26th however we left on the 22nd. Despite asking questions about the quality of the water on the beach at Jekyll Island prior to booking our reservation & again when making our final payment we were told we had nothing to worry about and that the beach water was perfectly fine. I specifically asked about the muddiness of the water because we had experience that on our last stay on Jekyll, and wanted to make sure that beach beautification had been done to bring back the sand, so that you weren’t stepping in mud when entering the water. We were again told no issues.
