Of all the different places we’ve stayed, this is definitely our favorite. It’s so peaceful and quiet, love the scenery and the deer that come by in the mornings. You feel secluded but it’s not too far from town. The decor and furnishings in the cabin are excellent. We will return again.

We enjoyed a nice long weekend here. We enjoyed the house and how clean it was as well as how well stocked it was. We could cook anything we wanted to with the appliances and tools in the kitchen. The view was nice and the hot tub worked perfectly for us. Communication with the owners was very quick. They were very responsive whenever we had a question. We had a great time.

We were so impressed with this cabin! Beautiful views and architecture! We had such a relaxing time as a family. The hot tub was perfect and the little town of Lansing was a great place to get a great cup of coffee!! We will definitely be back!

Our stay in this lovely cabin was wonderful! The view was lovely, hot tub was inviting, bath linens and bedding were great quality; we also greatly appreciated the privacy (and were grateful that no other guests were staying at the other cabin down the hill.Beth, the property manager, was very helpful and immediately responded to any questions we had.We would definitely stay again, if in the area, and recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a beautiful, well appointed place in Ashe County!

This house was an absolute gem and honestly exceeded our expectations. It was clean and well-stocked with everything we could possibly need, which made the stay feel seamless and stress-free. We have the absolute best time at The Sugar Maple. The kitchen was stoked with everything needed that you can imagine and there were so many games for the kids. My husband was so excited that there was plenty of firewood and we didn't have to worry about stopping to get any at any point of our stay. We got to see some beautiful deer on the trail next to the cabin as well. We had some great family time and loved the location. Thank you so much for having us!

Perfect Mountain Solitude

This was our fourth stay at Sugar Maple. The owners and property manager have created the perfect mountain getaway with a mixture of elegance and solitude. It’s always a pleasure to stay there. It’s definitely on our annual must visit list.

We had a great time at the Sugar Maple. Great house, great ocation with access to nice things to do, and even on a rainy day - no problem - hanging out at the house and relaxing was awesome.

You Won't Want to Leave

Another great time at the Sugar Maple. Brian, Robert and their caretaker Beth are friendly and accommodating. The house is well-designed, built and furnished, with everything you need for a relaxed stay. The outdoor spaces make it even easier to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. And this may be the quietest spot we've ever stayed. Can't recommend the Sugar Maple highly enough.

Beautiful property and home

We almost exclusively stay in VRBO properties when we travel. Without a doubt, this property had the best stocked kitchen ever and made fixing meals so easy. The welcome goodies were also a nice surprise and much appreciated.

Excellent get away

We loved our stay at the Sugar Maple! What a wonderful home with fantastic views. The hill is a little steep, so you may want to consider an all wheel drive vehicle during the winter. Loved it and will be back!

Beautiful Mountain Retreat

This is our second time staying at Misty Glen and it was just as amazing as the first time. The property is beautifully situated, and the owners have thought of every single detail to make the house comfortable. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, and the many outdoor seating areas are perfect for enjoying the fresh mountain air and breathtaking views. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked!
