Meadow location within close proximity to the Del Mar Recreation Center

Unit 35C Lot 5
The open living, kitchen, dining area is the home’s hub. There is plenty of room in the large kitchen to prepare meals as a group or visit with your chef from the bar. Enjoy the gas grill and bistro table on the deck off the kitchen, and plenty of seating inside at the large dining table. The living area has a wide window seat (perfect for reading and afternoon naps), gas fireplace, a large flat screen TV equipped with Roku and Sling TV. The loft up the spiral staircase is a great space to work a puzzle, lay out a yoga mat, or utilize as a secondary TV viewing area.

Silvermist has three bedrooms. The Primary with a king bed, private deck and en suite bathroom. The secondary bedroom also with a king. Third bedroom with a double/ twin bunk bed. The second and third bedrooms both open up to a very large, shared deck with meadow views – an excellent place for stargazing on clear nights! Linens are provided in the home. A hot tub is available for guests.

(disclaimer: the indoor soaking tub with jets inside the house is not functioning).

SEA RANCH AND SONOMA COUNTY GUIDELINES
Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.
No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time day or night.
Maximum number of vehicles at house shall be 2 (two), parked in driveway. No RV's.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Silver Mist is in a nice location closer to the Gualala side of Sea Ranch but it doesn't have a view. The house was spacious and clean but feels on the older side, meaning hasn't been renovated in a long time. The lighting is odd, like the kitchen has basically flood lights in there so it's either blinding or dark. Some lights have dimmers. It is not well stocked. I've never been to a rental that didn't have the basics, like oil or vinegar. If you plan on cooking, bring all of your ingredients, they only supply you with salt. They also ask that you start a load of laundry when you leave but they don't supply you with detergent. That means most guests are likely washing the towels with no detergent.They have a hot tub which was nice. Usually I prefer a view from the hot tub but we went in the winter during a storm so it was nice to have it walled in so that it wasn't windy. The rental agency employees are great.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Silver Mist has a fine location on the northern end of the ranch west of the highway and close to Gualala. The property is reasonably spacious and mostly in good shape with the exception of the kitchen cabinets, some of which seem ready to fall apart. The main problem that we encountered during our stay was that the sheets in the master bedroom had not been changed when we checked in - in fact, they were quite filthy. When we realized this (at night!), we could not wash them because there was no detergent in the house and the supermarkets were closed... We left a message with the rental agency and heard back the next day. My wife was super-upset about this. The only other concern was that the kitchen was understocked with basic implements and goods and that its layout is somewhat counter-intuitive.

Silvermist Spring Break Week

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented at Sea Ranch for many years and have learned to be prepared for various and common issues of rentals. Silvermist had many positive features—— great lightening, sufficient electrical outlets, rapid and efficient hot water, excellent streaming services, and a large and accessible garage with toys/gear. There was also a loft accessible by a steep, awkward spiral staircase which allowed the 8 and 9 year olds to have their own space. The drawbacks? The kitchen had no cupboards to hold the hoards of supplies families bring to Sea Ranch. Meant the counter space was always jammed with “stuff”. The kitchen had adequate tools/equipment but finding utensils was a game of hide and seek. It simply is an awkward space. Which leads to my overall commentary which is that Silvermist, a meadow property, has no real view of the ocean. The decks are all off the bedrooms, you cannot see the meadow or ocean from the kitchen/dining area, and the master bedroom looks directly into the living room of the adjacent house. The hot tub is wedged into an open box which my daughter described as as an Eastern bloc cell. The house is simply poorly positioned and oddly designed. I will give Silvermist a good rating because it does have many positive features but I cannot rave about it.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was fairly nice and in a great location. The problem we had was with ants. The ants were there when we arrived all over the kitchen and dining room. I cleaned constantly and they kept coming back. I had to seal everything in plastic bags and put everything I could fit into the refrigerator. It was very annoying to say the least. I mentioned it to the Beach Rentals staff person when we returned the key. She said they could have sent someone to clean. I feel it should have ALREADY been cleaned. There was no other home available for that week so we couldn’t have moved to another house. An exterminator is needed and windows need to be sealed.

We enjoyed the wonderful walking trails along the cliffs and it's a doable walk to the Gualala Point Park. We missed not having a beach within walking distance. We received friendly and helpful customer service. The home was clean and well-maintained, and the beds are comfortable! During the warm afternoons it would have been nice to have an overhead fan in the dining area or living room, or a window on the back wall that would have provided cross ventilation. The fireplace is lovely and was nice to be able to turn on during the one chilly night. We would stay there again and we would recommend the home to friends. One more thing, I would think about updating the faucets on the bathrooms sinks. The handles were annoying. There was an issue with ants but we understand it's likely due to the draught so it's a temporary thing.

Great place for our family of 4

We loved the house, clean and usable, and our kids had a blast in the loft. It's very close to the trail to the beach trail, and we went walking every morning and saw every sunset. This place was perfect for us.

In need of repairs.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location but everything needs repairs. BBQ is old and not taken care of, paint pealing off inside, it flared up and cooked the paint onto the meat and ruined $50 worth of meat. The fireplace doesn't work. The hot tub had issues and error code on it. No screens on any windows or doors. Heater vents attached to the floor with duck tape. Could be a nice place if owners updated and put money into repairing it. In the current condition it leaves a lot to be desired.

The location is perfect as it is a very short stroll to the bluff but far enough back that it is private. The home had all the comforts we were looking for and included plenty of books, DVDs, puzzles. The hot tub is somewhat walled in but a nice size and very private. We will look to stay here again in the future!
