Private Apt with backyard

Feel free to come and go as you like. You will enjoy complete privacy, safety, and peace. Our Guest House is a bit small but you'll have everything you need. This unit has a full bath, heating/AC, kitchenette, extremely comfortable queen bed, wifi, washer/dryer, refrigerator, outside patio with BBQ Grill and side burner, iron/ironing board, blow dryer, toiletries and it comes equipped with everything you'll need to be comfortable. National Airport 6 miles. Bus stop one block away.

The space
This is a No Smoking Unit (Of Any Kind) Local bus route is 301. You will have one secure parking spot on the driveway.

Guest access
When you pull up in the driveway park on the right hand side. There may be a car or truck on the right side, just park in back of it, it’s not going anywhere. Just walk up the ramp and open up the back gate. You'll see the guest house. It will be open upon your arrival. When leaving just hit the lock button and it will lock. Please be careful not to lock the lower handle on your way out. There will be a note for guests on the refrigerator and it will explain everything you need to know.

Jerry was an excellent host! Apartment was cozy, heat and air was quick to warm and cool. Bed was super comfy. Very quiet surroundings. The apartment was very clean except for bathroom which might have been to a recent flooding, not completely terrible- the soft towels and great water pressure made up for this. Recommend.

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place. It had everything that we needed. We met Jerry, the owner, and his dog, Henry. Both were very friendly. If we have reason to be back this way, we hope to stay here.

A very Cozy and comfy little cottage close to shopping and easy access to historic Alexandria

I was very comfortable staying in This little cottage. It was tastefully decorated while also providing all the basic necessities. A stacking washer and dryer in the unit was a bonus . Owners were very nice and responded quickly to a few questions that I had..

Comfortable and convenient--enjoyed our stay!

The cottage is tiny, but it had everything we needed--a comfortable bed and a lovely shower. Everything was spic and span; there were ample linens plus extras; the HVAC was easy to operate and kept us comfortable. Loved the addition of a magnifying mirror in the bathroom! Kitchen amenities were just perfect. Would definitely stay there again!

Great location for stay while visiting my father

The location offers safe off street parking in a residential neighborhood. The room itself is in safe fenced in quiet back yard and offers everything you need. It has a kitchen. Nice size bathroom and a large TV. This is much better than a hotel and for less money.

Positives: very clean, bed was Tempurpedic so very comfortable. Nice kitchen. Setting in garden was very pleasantNegative: probably I didn't research enough, but there was no sitting area and only place to sit was a folding chair.

Convenient for quick stay!

Check in was easy and got settled and then went to our event. It was very comfortable and warm. The shower pressure was amazing and hairdryer was great. Would stay there again.

It’s in someone’s back yard and there wasn’t hot tub. Also they let there dogs out when we were eating outside. Nice dogs but…. Other than that nice place

Great location, nice sized mother-in-law accomodations.

Best Vrbo we've ever stayed at. Really good location, we were no more than 20 minutes from anywhere. Lodging - Bed was firm and comfortable, very clean and bright. Only downside was no stovetop, you hhave to cook on a gas grill.

A Pleasant Stay in the DC Area

This place is a small cottage in the back yard of a suburban home. The cottage is very small with a combined bedroom/kitchen and not much room to sit, but there is a large back yard for when the weather is good. The kitchen is limited, but there is an outdoor barbecue which we made use of. Jerry was easy to communicate with, and the price for the DC area was excellent. It would be difficult to stay here without a car.

My Vernon getaway!

We called it “the shed” it really had everything we needed. The host was very kind and responded immediately about us bringing our support dogs. We were only 15 minutes away from Mt Vernon, George Washington’s homestead and this was our main event and attraction! Our dogs were safe and enjoyed the fenced in yard!

My wife and I booked the room for 8 nights paying hoping that it'd be like a motel property. But we're shocked and very upset when we found out that it's a separate room but part of the house sitting in the backyard. We also noticed the owner has dogs which would make it more noisy during our stay. We didn't stay there for even 10 minutes and requested the host for a cancellation. The host denied our request and suggested to contact the cancellation thru Expedia. In exchange, we even offered to pay for a half-day rent but still denied. Later, we contacted the Expedia/Vrbo and had a customer rep verbal chatting on the phone (using the speaker phone) with the host. Still no good. Neither the host nor the Expedia obliged our request. We had a long trip overseas before coming to this place so we're quite exhausted and frustrated. Also, somehow we also missed to add the cancellation warranty as part of the stay. We ended up forfeiting the entire 8 nights rent as we did not want to stay there at all. We decided never to use the host for any future stay! The moral of the story: Never make a reservation for such private location no matter how good it sounds Online comments until you have physically visited the site. Start the reservation with a day, if you like then, you can always extend it later but make sure to add the cancellation warranty. This way, you will only lose the 1 day rent at the worst and won't have to go through all the pain and hassle!!!

Little cottage

We had a great time on our trip and stay at the little cottage. There was a more than generous amount of linens, towels, snacks, coffee, water, soda and the list goes on. I can’t think of one thing we needed that wasn’t provided. Jerry was kind and easily contacted if needed. Perfect for our four day visit. Would definitely stay again.
