MAGGIE'S PLACE - 200 YARDS TO THE BEACH LOCATED IN AN OCEANFRONT FAMILY RESORT

Spacious, relaxing and colorful! Enjoy the excitement of Ocean Lakes in this beautiful 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath home that sleeps 13 in comfort and beach style (sleeps additional 4 on sofa couches in living room so could sleep 17). The home is located on the southern end of Ocean Lake, just a 200 yard walk or golf cart ride to the beach with lifeguards and chair/umbrella rentals available (during prime season) along with many amenities that Ocean Lakes has to offer. The first floor of this raised beach house has a spacious deck with plenty of seating. Inside you will find an open living, dining and kitchen, perfect for family gatherings. The dining table seats 8 with additional seating for 3 at the kitchen counter. The kitchen is fully equipped. The first floor also features a washer and dryer pair and a master bedroom with a king bed, TV, balcony, and ensuite. Upstairs has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths, with TV and balcony access. Both upstairs bathrooms are off the hallway. Under the house has plenty of entertaining space with bar, seating, swings, outdoor shower with hot/cold water, and grill.

After enjoying a relaxing day at the beach clean up in our outdoor shower with hot/cold water!

Ocean Lakes is a gated community with extraordinary amenities including a large resort style pool, water park, kids splash zone, miniature golf, lazy river, indoor pool, arcade, basketball and volleyball courts, shuffleboard, several lakes for fishing, recreation center, general store and cafe. Church services are also on site. Enjoy peace of mind with 24 hour security patrols and gated entry.

Park your car and you never have to leave but if you choose the house is located just 10 minutes from the heart of Myrtle Beach attractions such as golfing (over 100 courses!), amusement parks, shows, outlet malls, museums, etc., and 15 minutes from Broadway at the Beach.


General Information:
There is a per day per vehicle parking fee paid directly to Ocean Lakes. There is parking for 2-3 vehicles at the house and an overflow lot for additional vehicles.

Linen - bed linen, towels, wash clothes, and kitchen towels included. You are ready to relax!

Property is a smart lock self check-in. Code will be provided the day prior to visit.
Please Note House Rules:
- You must be 25 years old to rent and must stay during the entire reservation
- No smoking except on balconies and outside
- A refundable damage deposit is required.
- Contract must be signed before checking into the house. Also a copy of driver's license must be sent to me.

Our family had a very nice vacation at Maggies Place. The house was very comfortable. We enjoyed the big kitchen. Was close enough to the beach to walk.The resort location was close to everything we wanted to visit.

Relaxing

The property was clean and comfortable to be in. There were plenty of kitchen supplies provided. Some maintenance repairs need to be completed. For example the porch railing is coming apart. The house is a short walk away from the beach, which was very nice. Overall my family had an enjoyable and comfortable .The house is a short walk away from the beach, which was very nice. Great stay!

This house was great for our October stay! Beds were comfortable. Great seating on porch. Within walking distance to the beach. House owner was great to work with. Very prompt and friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Congested neighborhood

Great guest with great communication. The house could have stood a little been cleaning and especially the floor being mopped. The kids feet were black in first few minutes of running around in the house. Great place if you are looking for campground feel, but being in a house. The kids loved the pool and house location to the beach was great. The negative for us was Ocean Lakes Is over populated with homes and campsites sitting very close to each other, making it very congested. Like being in row houses in Jersey. I could not imagine how crowded it would be during peak season. Our family likes a little more privacy.

Loved Ocean Lakes and Maggie’s place.

Great short walk to the beach. Great place to rent. I usually don’t like to say anything negative but golf cart tags were out and we got stopped by park patrol and warned. So just a heads up on that if you are staying. Floors need a good cleaning we all had Walmart feet after walking bare foot in the house. Check in was easy and over all a great stay. The accommodated our large group.

A week at the beach with family

We had a great time at the beach! Pools were far too crowded to use, but the beach was perfect. When we first booked this house, it included a golf cart with the reservation. Before our stay, however, the golf cart was canceled. No discount was offered for the modification.The house was not clean when we arrived. The bathrooms were very clean, but the rest of the house was not. Dirty, sandy floors...visible food on the dishes in the cupboards (we ran them thru the dishwasher before using...drips and smears on the walls and kitchen appliances, etc. We contacted the host who sent the cleaning crew to fix the issue the same day. Still, it was inconvenient to have them there cleaning with a house full of people. The house, in general, could really use a DEEP cleaning and some updates on furniture and rugs. 2 Q beds and the couches were very soft and droopy. The air vents and the ceiling around them are all covered black mold. The walls, baseboards, faceplates are grimy. The light fixtures have a thick layer of dust. The rug covering the stairs to the second floor is ripped and grimy looking. The house just needs some general attention. There were not enough coffee mugs or forks for our group of 8 people, even though the house is supposed to accommodate far more people. When we arrived, the dumpsters were full of really stinky garbage. There were no beach towels, so be sure to bring your own. Just enough paper products for one day.

Successful Family Reunion

Maggie's Place was exactly as described in the VRBO ad. Close enough to the beach yet far enough away to still be relatively quiet and peaceful to sit on the porch for those who aren't beach people. The house appeared to be recently painted clean and in good condition. We especially liked the mattress in the master bedroom downstairs. Usually when you sleep away from you home at least the first night takes a lot of getting use to. Not during our visit to Maggie's house! Very comfortable. Michelle was extremely good with communication and very responsive. She even helped us solve a parking pass issue because of a change in travel plans with my son and his wife. She was on it immediately contacting Ocean Lakes and got an approval for an additional vehicle on site. A very enjoyable stay at Maggie's Place. Michelle made it feel like a second home to us. It took us almost eight years to plan and pull off our large family reunion and if we do it again ( hopefully sooner) we will surely stay again at Maggie's Place. Thanks for everything Michelle!

Great stay overall (some issues)

Pros- Stay was nice. House near the beach. Amenities were within walking distance, but golf carts are available to rent. Check in and out was easy to understand. Owner was quick to respond to questions and issues. Cons- If new to Ocean Lakes, be advised that houses are stacked close together (not evident by pictures). House bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, but crawling baby arms and legs were black from floor. Vents were dirty and moldy. Owner was aware of maintenance issues that need fixed and was apologetic. Palmetto bugs were an issue and owner had an exterminator come over to spray right away. Overall we had a nice time and everyone enjoyed themselves. Location is nice. Owner needs to hire a cleaning service that mops and wipes down doors/stairs for the cleaning fee that was paid.

My extended family has been coming to the South Carolina beaches since before I was born. Every summer our family would rent one large house and each family had a room. We made the best memories - fishing, crabbing, shrimping, grilling, sand castles, and I could go on and on. The beach is my happy place.

I lost my mom in 2019 and some of my best memories are family times at the beach. She absolutely loved South Carolina beaches - hence the house name "Maggie's Place"
