The Woodlands is a 2100 sq. ft. bungalow that has amenities of today while having that "old house" charm of yesterday. The home is located within 3.7 miles of the South Holston Dam, Weir Dam, Lakeview Dock, and the South Holston River; 8.1 miles to downtown Bristol;12.1 miles from BMS. The South Holston River, often referred to as "SoHo” is a tailwater and is known as one of the best fly fishing rivers in the country, with a population of trout around 8,500 fish per mile according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Extraordinarily Appointed Cottage Get-Away -

I travel a lot with our women’s college golf team, this is the most beautiful home we have ever stayed in. To make the stay even more special - the host left loads of bottled water, specialty baked goods, and coffee - and was incredibly responsive. Highly recommended!

Spring getaways

Our stay plans were to relax, fish, hike and this was the perfect location. The hosts are very thoughtful and proactive. Unfortunately we are gluten intolerant so we just got to drool over the bake goodies that were left but they smelled wonderful!

We’ve stayed at a number of VRBO’s and other vacation properties, and we agree that this is the best ever. First, the pictures (which are lovely) understate the property - it is simply beautiful inside and out. From the furniture, linens, and accessories to the original artwork throughout, everything is tastefully and artfully done. We spent hours indoors on the chilly Thanksgiving weekend, and kept remarking at how great it felt to live there.The kitchen is outfitted with everything we needed to cook great meals, with modern appliances, a complete set of accessories and full spice and condiments cabinet.Our hosts were as thoughtful in our interactions as they were in preparing their home - they accommodated a late schedule change and responded quickly to every question. We arrived to find freshly ground coffee and treats from Blackbird Bakery and a fridge stocked with spring water for our use.All in all, a delightful visit that left us renewed and refreshed. We look forward to the next stay!

Beautiful furnishings

House was very nice and clean. Guest were to remover there shoes before entering the house according to the info sheet in the kitchen. We found that to be a little off putting. The house is furnished beautifully. Extensive collection of high end furnishings. Beautiful.

Beautiful, top quality built home. Immaculately clean and well maintained, inside and out. Comfortable for living and sleeping. Quiet, peaceful surroundings. Great Grill with the thoughtfulness of a spare propane tank. Easy, short drive to town. Very accommodating, great Host. The only improvement could be water conditioning, as the water is very hard and difficult to rinse off in the shower or while cleaning dishes. Other than that, which is certainly not a “show stopper”, this location is as good as it gets!

Fall Night Race 2021

House was beautiful and very clean. Randall was a great host to work with. Home is near South Holston Damn and we were able to explore nature a little bit as well. Unfortunately we had an issue with our vehicle, and Randall went out of his way to help us locate a business that was open on Sunday to assist with repairs before we returned home. Would definitely stay here again.
