Christmas at the Duke of Windsor

We had the best time celebrating the Christmas season this past weekend at the Duke of Windsor. We were so excited when we arrived to find out the house was fully decorated for the holidays. We had four families, and the house was able to accommodate us perfectly. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and all the rooms to relax and have a cocktail. We'll definitely be back next year!

My 70th Birthday Celebration

What a magnificent home to celebrate my 70th birthday with my family. All the bedrooms have private baths which was perfect for our group of 11. We loved the front porch and the elevator was a bonus for transferring luggage to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The weather was perfect for walk to a local fair, to town and walk along the boardwalk promenade. It was a grand way to celebrate my birthday!!!

Beautiful house but not clenan

The house was the perfect size for our party of 12 family members. But when we arrived we found a dishwasher full of dirty dishes and also dirty glassware and silver ware in the cabinets and drawers. The house itself was magnificent.

Disappointed

Everything was good except the elevator was not working properly and maintenance was not able to come until Tuesday after our Saturday check in. My Mom is 95 and we really needed the elevator and this is why we booked the house. That was very disappointing.

House was great - overall experience not so great

The house itself was wonderful for our large family gathering. Upon leaving though, we were falsely accused of having animals in the house. WE DID NOT! We provided evidence of payment to our pet sitters, and allergy records of other family members and were still not acknowledged as being honest responsible guests. They did agree to send our security deposit back because they "didn't want to ruin our experience". (Too late - being falsely accused is not a good feeling!) Additionally, the A/C was not working when we arrived and called the rental agency. No one called us back and my brother in law had to go to the office to request service.

Our agency had received reports of pet hair and a pet stain specifically after your group checked out, via the cleaning professionals that take care of the home each week. It is procedure to hold security while conferring with the owner and cleaner while a decision is being made on how to manage a matter such as this. After speaking with your group and the owner, a decision was made to fully reimburse your security deposit and we resolved the matter as quickly as possible. We're sorry there was an issue with the air conditioner when you first arrived. It is very important to us to make sure things like this are taken care of in a timely fashion. As soon as we heard there was a problem, we immediately spoke with the owner and a service technician to schedule any repair that needed to be made. We appreciate you all staying with us and hope you remember your time in Cape May fondly. -The Jersey Cape Realty Rental Team

I want to visit every year!

My family have stayed twice in 2021. We all love this house. Comfortable, every room is lovely. Gorgeous but comfy decor. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Perfect location!! Property management were kind, responsive and professional. I’m already trying to figure if we can do it next year.

Seven Bedroom, Open Concept

Loved the house and location. Only improvement I can think of is installing an ice maker. I gave the check-in process only two stars for the following reason: we had a 4:00 check-in time and I arrived for the keys at 3:42. The realty rep told me I had to wait until 3:50 to get the keys since I had a 4:00 check-in time. I thought he was joking but then realized he was not. I actually had to wait around for 8 minutes before he would hand me the keys. Seriously??!! Other than this bizarre start to the week, my entire group loved the house. My cousin has already booked it for some time in December.
