Catch a ferry to beautiful Vashon Island. Find your Peace in this cozy light filled retreat. Relax, unplug and unwind. Take in the breathtaking views of inner Quartermaster Harbor, watch the otters, seals and bald eagles.
This lovingly refurbished home has a spacious living room with plenty of seating, it opens to the dining room and stunning kitchen with a 36" gas range and all of the accessories needed to cook a gourmet meal.
King sized master bedroom with walk in shower bathroom.
Bedroom 2 has a queen bed.
Bedroom 3 has a king bed.
All beds have luxurious 14" memory foam mattresses and a variety of pillows, linens and extra blankets.
The main bathroom has a shower/tub combo.
Full sized washer and dryer. Heat pump with a/c for those hot summer days.
Sweet covered outdoor area with seating, bbq and foosball table.
Lots of books games puzzles and movies. Perfect for a quiet retreat or couple’s getaway.
Check out the island’s wineries, and micro breweries. Explore our artistic community, shops, coffee roastery, miles of hiking and biking trails and beaches.

Host was super responsive. House was beautifully decorated and well-stocked/outfitted. View was incredible and we enjoyed the big picture windows. I would definitely stay here in the summer, too, as it seems outfitted for outdoor living and kayaks, etc.

Amazing place to Stay!

The Otter house is such a beautiful and big property! The kitchen is a perfect place for entertaining and the views are spectacular! The pictures really don't do it justice. It's a brand new place and so nicely decorated. I highly recommend this place. I really enjoyed staying here.

Beautiful Quartermaster Harbor home

Gorgeous place in every way. Beautifully remodeled, spacious, superbly appointed and equipped. Also a fun outdoor covered area with grill, seating and table etc. and what a view! Mt Rainier across the bay rising into the sky.

Beyond Our Expectations

The minute we stepped inside, we knew we’d found a gem. This home was exceptionally clean and the decor was first class. The photos on the web site did not do this place justice. It was so well stocked… the owners anticipated their guests every need. The furniture, appliances, rugs, everything is top quality. The beds… oh my! We loved the water view: seals, kayakers, rowing crews. The home was the highlight of our trip to Vashon.

Peaceful and Perfect

Otter Getaway is a stunner. Beautifully designed interiors throughout with a gorgeous view of the water. The house is sunny and bright during the day then warm and cozy at night. All the rooms are so well appointed you don’t feel like need or want to leave. The kitchen in particular had everything we needed and more. Absolutely will stay here again and again.

Great girls getaway!

We had a lovely weekend on Vashon! The house has an amazing view, is in a nice quiet area, and very close to shops, restaurants, and fun activities. The house is well stocked with comfy beds! We loved it and will definitely visit again!

This property was immaculately clean and very cute. Comfy furniture and spaces to hang out, nice view of the water (across the road), many nice touches. Sarah was quick to respond and very kind to work with. We would absolutely stay here again.

A luxurious Vashon stay

Sarah, our host, adds extra touches that really make this house a special place to stay. There were fresh flowers, coffee beans from the island roaster, and farm fresh eggs. The house is lovely and very clean. It has everything you can think of, including some things that we regard as almost unheard of for vacation rentals: plastic wrap, adequate toilet paper, and Ziplock bags? I don’t remember the last time I didn’t need to supplement on all those fronts. Beach access is across a road. My VI homeowner friends advise that this is typical of “beachfront” properties on the island. It wasn’t what I expected but it also didn’t detract from our experience of the island. We definitely hope to stay here again.

We are a group of siblings, Jim, Tami and Sarah. We are born and raised islanders. Collectively we have five kids, teenage to young adult. We grew up visiting our grandparents in this house and playing on the beach here.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This property was homesteaded by our great great grandfather in the late 1870’s. Our grandparents bought the home from Grandpa’s uncle in 1941, they raised our father and uncle in this house and continued to live here until the end of 2018.
