This ground level apartment is located on a ridge in the Buxton Woods Maritime Forest Coastal Reserve. With two Bedrooms, one bath, full kitchen, private spa for guest use only, high speed Wi-Fi, three internet flat screen tv's, private laundry and an open living and dining area. Beach access is only three miles away at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, as well as restaurants, shops and a grocery store.

Obx getaway

Really close to everything on the island and perfect spot for privacy, great communication with owner gave us great options and ideas for food and things to do in the area. Definitely recommend staying here and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in the future, can’t say enough great things about it.

Beautifully remodeled basement apartment. The hot tub was very therapeutic! Must stop, Orange Blossom Bakery, get the apple ugly!

Comfy and clean apartment

Very easy check in process. Modern and comfy space. The hot tub is a nice added touch. I would definitely stay again.

Buxton NC Backwoods stay

Great place to stay. Very clean and new. it's a very peaceful place with nice scenery away from beach and sand. The layout flows nicely to the front and back porches. Enjoyed the wildlife visiting the nicely clean pond on property. Was able to sleep well at night. Thanks John .You did a excellent job on your property. And would love to visit again soon.Mark- Patty

Wonderful and Secluded

2nd year we have chosen to stay at John's place, we love the simplicity and seclusion from all the beach traffic. Close enough to get to anything you need but also quiet and relaxing. You will not regret picking his place to stay. Hot Tub was an added plus for us! Pictures and details given are spot on.

Everything was exactly how it is listed and in great condition!! The property is tucked away from the hustle and bustle which adds a perfect touch of serenity. We enjoyed staying here and will be checking availability when we return to Buxton! John was very attentive and super friendly!

Peaceful Getaway

This location is great! Quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of other tourists while also being close enough to be apart of all OBX amenities and sites. John is very responsive and is more than happy to assist with any questions and provides great local insights to beaches, food, and so much more. We can't wait to come back to the OBX and when we do, we will absolutely rent from John again! Fantastic host, fantastic rental, and beautiful area!

From the moment we drove up to the front of the house the peaceful serenity and beauty of the surroundings were immediately apparent. The immaculately maintained home extended a warm welcome as we entered through the front door. Every detail and recognition of every possible need has been seen to by the owner and builder of this lovely retreat house, a quiet oasis. It was more than apparent that John's primary objective is to insure a comfortable, quiet and tranquil experience for his guests.The front and back patios, hot tub, barbeque grill, fully outfitted kitchen, along with the wonderfully ample walk-in shower all provide a luxury stay that any high-priced resort would find hard to compete with. Thank you John for a quality and memorable vacation experience.

Peaceful Retreat

This place is brand new! It even smelled brand new! It is equipped with all new appliances and all the kitchen gadgets you need. This is a perfect place if you want some peace and quiet and privacy but it is still very close to anything that you want to do in the Buxton area. John is well on his way to being a super host. He was very prompt to answer all of our questions. We would definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.

Relaxing, Enjoyable 5 Night Stay

My partner and I were in town for a wedding and decided to stay for a few extra nights to enjoy the beach. The weather was miserable for 2-3 days of our stay, and the unit was perfect for relaxing while we waited out the weather. Both beds are extremely comfortable, the bathroom and shower are great, comfortable living room, and well furnished kitchen. The hot tub was great for early morning/late evening relaxation. John was a great host, and was incredibly responsive and accommodating. We rented bikes and beach chairs from Ocean Atlantic Rentals; they dropped off and picked them up from the house. The house is tucked back from the main road, but is a quick 5-10 minute drive to food, drinks, ice cream, and the beach. When the weather finally turned, we had great days out on the beach, with a comfortable place to go back to for some down time. We would definitely stay again!

John’s a fantastic host, and the apartment is top notch. It was perfect for a 1 week stay in Buxton. Easy access to Buxton or Frisco. Bring a freshwater rod to fish the pond on the property! Can’t wait to book again.

Brand new unit which was spacious modern and clean.

If you are ok with making a short drive to the beach this is an excellent choice. Great service and great unit. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Property and Location

We had a wonderful visit. The property is just as described, well maintained, and perfectly located with easy access to wooded trails and beaches. The host was responsive and helpful with tips and information. We had a relaxing vacation and look forward to returning.

Great Property and Owner for our Cape Hatteras/OBX vacation!

John was a great host, providing local tips for best beaches based on daily winds, best restaurants and activities. The property was immaculate and comfortable. Being off the main roads, we didn't worry about the kids being outside. They made friends with a neighbor's cat, Oats, who visited each day. Having stayed in the northern OBX before, this was our first time staying south. We loved it. Buxton, is a great little beach town centrally located to various activities without all the traffic and congestion further north (Duck/Corolla). The local beaches were easily accessible by car and lot parking wasn't a challenge. If you have a 4X4 your beach access is really unlimited. From the property to the Hatteras/Ocracoke Ferry was 25 minutes. 15 minutes to Avon, and a day trip back up to Kitty Hawk/Kill Devil Hills is 1:20 We would definitely stay here again!
