We are waiting on the insurance company to deal with the fence, not sure what other deferred maintenance there is, if you can message us with anything that you saw that we are not aware of that would be great so we can make those improvements. Also in the description it states the house in on the South shore about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Christiansted.

Yessir. Sorry about the ac. The salt air being right on the water takes it's toll on things. We are actually replacing, but being on island we have to wait for the new one to arrive. It should be here this week.

As we discussed when you were here, this property was just purchased a month or so ago and the owner has plans to make the upgrades shortly including renovating the entire kitchen. Yes unfortunately we are having a Sargassum (seaweed) outbreak, and this is the worst we've ever seen it. Great news is it typically dissapates in October and doesn't return until summertime, that's what's causing the water to be a different color. We have a tv set to go in next week and the ac has been checked and is working properly now.. I am surprised to see the "nothing to do" part as the island has a ton of awesome activities and over 20 gorgeous beaches to check out. Hope you will come back to this magical little island.

Good day and thank you for your review. As we discussed via telephone, we were not made aware of any of these issues until your last day at the house. At that time you said the main issue was the iguana. You told me there was 1 iguana not 3. If we would have been made aware, we would have sent a staff member out right away to clean up the pool area. You are correct, it is a tropical island and there is nothing we can do about iguanas, except clean up when they make a mess. We gladly do that if we're made aware. The same with the patio doors. We were not made aware there was a problem until your last day. Again, we would have sent someone to remedy that issue. The refrigerator issue has been addressed with the cleaning crew, so thank you for making us aware of that. As far as the AC not being efficient, this property has remained booked all summer and this is the first time anyone has said anything about the AC's. We will send a staff member to take a look. With this house being an open air house right on the water, the salt air does tend to cause some maintenance issues, but we address them when we are made aware and/or when we personally see them. The odor to which you are referring is sargassum on the beach. This is a natural occurrence during certain times of the year, and unfortunately we have no control over that. We have personally seen it very thick at that resort you speak of and have recent photos showing that, taken from the balcony of the house where you stayed. I'm not sure what they did to remedy the issue during your stay, but can assure you it's normally there as well.

As a reminder. The smell from the sargassum was a VERY unusual event. Typically there is no smell from the sargassum as the trade winds out of the East blow the smell East. Unfortunately during the 2 days you were there we had an unusual wind from the due South that caused the smell. This is an extremely unusual event as I explained when I relocated you. It's really unfortunate that you chose to leave such a negative review due to a very rare weather event.

Good day. Thank you for the review, although it is incorrect. We have VRBO messages and a video to back that up, since I did a video walk-through immediately after you left. The only thing that is accurate is that one of the slats under the bed had fallen, and that has been fixed. There was no dead bug, there were no blood stains, the toilet seat was not broken, and the floor was not filthy dirty. We actually gave you a 50% refund not a third, and we did not say you were lucky to get that. We actually told you that after sending VRBO the video I shot upon your departure that "VRBO advises that we are under no obligation to issue any refund, however, out of the goodness of our hearts" we issued a 50% refund. We have it all on our VRBO messages, in addition to my walk through video. Future guests do not be influenced by this factless review. We believe you arrived at the house and realized it was an open air house and decided you didn't want to stay. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for the review. Yes unfortunately we are in the midst of one of the worst Sargassum outbreaks we have ever seen, although it does seem to be receding a bit. So hopefully will be gone in the next month or so. So happy you enjoyed your time on this magical little island.
