Great Place to Stay
We had a wonderful time at Our Place. We had a group of 10 (12 on the weekend) who ranges in age from 1-95. The location is great and had an easy access to the beach. Getting over the bridge to shops and grocery store was also easy. The kitchen was very well stocked, and we really enjoyed the comfortable seating in the living room (which was bigger in person than in the pictures). We had a couple of issues that were quickly addressed when we called about them. We couldn’t access the charcoal grill b/c it was locked, and no key was left. They came out within an hour of our call and unlocked the shed. The AC had gone out on the bottom level and we waited a couple of days to call thinking it was going to be a big ordeal, but in respect to the next renters, we decided to call on our last day. Maintenance came out and assessed and came back with Freon. Easy, peasy. We enjoyed both the covered and uncovered porches, but we did get chewed up by biting flies down by the beach and small black midges on the porch, but I wouldn’t hold that against the property; it could have been the time of year we went and also was told the flies come depending on which way the wind is blowing. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this property again except that there was only one king bed. My husband and I took the queen bedroom upstairs and gave the master to my daughter and son-in-law (6’3”) and the 1 year old slept there as well. We were not very comfortable as the queen mattress was not very good and we both rolled into the middle. I wish beach owners would realize that people who are fine with queen beds will be fine with king beds, but people who want king beds are not happy with queen beds. Again, this is not a knock on the property, just a general observation. I would still consider renting it again. We saw a lot of dolphins, a couple of sharks, and we were there the night the turtles boiled in a nest two doors down from the property. Overall, it was a lovely visit and “Our Place” was a great place to stay.
