Dont even hesitate to book this beautiful guest house with Richard. He has thought of everything. I work for the Ritz Carlton.When I say his accommodations are clean, I mean, immaculate! Great stay and great location

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Loved staying outside of LA in the Malibu Canyon area with lots of nature around us. The property was nice and the host was great and very helpful. We would love to go back.

Nice place to stay

Very comfortable and functional unit - worked well for us. We had two Yorkies with us too, and the unit is pet friendly as well.

So enjoyed our stay!

The place is lovely, clean, and well stocked and located in a very nice neighborhood. Our host Richard was the best and always nearby to help. We will be returning the next time in town.

Great spot for a quick west coast family visit! Beautifully kept suite in quiet neighborhood. Our host was very responsive and helpful. Will definitely rebook for our next stay!

Nice neighborhood!

I had a lovely stay at this property. The host was helpful and familiar with the area. The check-in and out process was easy. I also enjoyed the trails that were close by for my daily walks in the am. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone whether be vacation or just for a short get away.

Peaceful Getaway

Richard was a kind, attentive, and welcoming host. He met us when we arrived to give us a tour of the property and answer any questions we had. The space was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. We definitely plan to stay here again the next time we’re in the area!

Fantastic space close to Malibu Beaches

Loved every aspect of the guest villa. Very comfortable and clean. Richard greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Every detail is taken care if and Richard is very reponsive to notifications thruough the app. We would welcome the opportunity to stay again if ever in the LA area.

Comfortable and quiet - nice location!

We enjoyed the location and hospitality of host Richard. He gave us a thorough run down of the suite as well as the area. It was spotlessly clean and well organized. The bed was comfortable and the living/dining area was spacious. The neighborhood was quiet and residential with hiking areas as well as a park and dining a short walk away. A great place to stay and we will be back if we plan another trip in the area.

California visit

We had a lovely stay at the property. We did think access to trails would be closer to the property, but it was fine because we were close enough to everything else. It would be nice if there was a table and chairs on the patio, but our stay was focused around visiting with family so this did not impede the visit. Richard made everything very easy for us and the accommodations were very nice. Would recommend this property to others.

comfortable stay

We visit the area twice a year from NJ to visit our son's family. It is always great when we can find a great place to stay since we can't stay with them. Richard's place fit our needs exactly. Everything we needed was provided and he checked in with us regularly to see if everything was okay with the stay. The kitchen and living area provided plenty of space to relax. We'll certainly consider returning on our next trip to CA.

I rented this property as I was to undergo surgery on both feet & needed a quiet, peaceful location to rest & recuperate. Everything was OK except that there was a problem with ants in the kitchen, discovered when we first arrived. Richard helped me clean them up & was very apologetic. Unfortunately, they returned the next day - he again helped clean them up, saying he found an ant trail outside & had sprayed it. Unfortunately, they returned for a 3rd time. By this time, my Caregiver already had a severe allergic reaction to the household provided antibacterial kitchen spray we had been forced to use to clean & sanitize the kitchen counters. We could not easily prepare meals & we stored everything in the fridge or freezer. Considering my post-surgery need for rest, & my caregiver’s need to avoid further chemical reaction, we decided to return home 2 days early. We explained why we were leaving & asked for a refund for the remaining 2 days due to the property issue.Although the experience was very disappointing to us, I understand that it wasn’t Richard’s fault either. The above is in no way criticism of Richard – he is a good host, but it was the property that failed us. I don’t want this to be viewed as a negative Review because I am certain Richard will address the ant problem. I am just explaining what happened.

Yes, there was a small amount of ants near the refrigerator upon arrival, with no signs of any other activity, which were immediately removed. I found the outside route and ended the issue. I did not receive any further notification or complaint from the guest regarding the ants returning or any other issues during the remainder of their stay. I checked the unit for ants and asked the guest if the ants had returned several times during their stay to make sure that the issue was resolved. Upon several inspections, I found no further problems and was told each time that they were pleased with the unit and that the issue was resolved. 5 days after arriving and two days after the surgery they decided to go home. It is my belief that the surgery went well and that the guest was feeling well enough to travel home earlier than initially planned. Upon their departure, I thoroughly inspected the unit and found no signs of any ant activity whatsoever and there has been none since. The unit has not previously had this problem and the issue was resolved immediately upon notification. The unit is known for its cleanliness as described in the over 100 5 star reviews received over 5 years on this and other sites . I am sorry for any inconvenience caused and was happy that the surgery went better than expected.

Great location, great host, I’m coming back!

This little apartment is in a perfect location with mountains and ocean both a short drive away. Very clean, very safe. Owner on site for check-in, orientation, or if you need anything. Well-appointed, everything I needed for my 4-day stay. Great TV (2 actually). High quality linens. Good bed( brand new actually - it was delivered the day I arrived). I will stay here again when I am in the area. Thanks!

9 days in LA

Richard’s home was clean and comfortable and was everything I needed. I thought there would be a place to sit outside to look at the mountains, but as it turned out, I was gone from 9 am till at least 8 pm, so there was no need. The house lived up to my expectations. The bed was comfortable. Richard was very good at giving me ideas of where to go in Malibu.

Perfection in Malibu Canyon

Clean, spacious and well equipped, perfect for two. Just 30 mins to the beach and 10 mins to Malibu Creek State Park. Great Mexican Cafe and liquor store just blocks away. A short hike just behind the house will take you to a beautiful spot to watch either sunrise or sunset. Spectacular! Richard is a top-notch host, super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable of great things to do in the area. He is always happy to chat but also very respectful of your privacy. You can't ask for a better host!
