Cozy Cottage Getaway in the Mountains - 20 min from the beach!

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway hidden in the Santa Monica Mountains. Shake away the worries of the world and come relax just a stone's throw away from beautiful hiking/biking trails, the beach, and Old Topanga/Malibu.

This peaceful one bedroom cozy "surf cottage" is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, yet close enough to town for groceries and shopping (Warner Center/Topanga Mall/The Commons).

Our quaint and cozy mountain cottage is just that: quaint and cozy. Nestled up at the foot of the Santa Monica mountains, you'll enjoy utter peace and quiet while being surrounded by trees and nature. Come unwind and relax!

The house is 100 years old and has all the character to go with it! It's been updated to meet the weary traveler's needs:

- Snuggle up and watch movies projected on our 80-inch pulldown screen or on the 65-inch TV in the bedroom (Amazon Fire Sticks on both ready with Netflix/HBO/Apple TV+/Prime Video)

- Fully functional kitchen to cook meals (no microwave, but there is a toaster oven!)

- Sit outside on one of the patios and enjoy the sunset and canyon mountain views. You'll love how secluded and tucked away the house is, surrounded by trees and the sounds of birds singing.

- Many hiking trails are nearby. Either by foot or a short drive. Explore the Santa Monica mountains and all the beauty that comes with it!

- Get cozy with a book and views of nature on the chaise lounge in the living room.

- Comfy king-sized bed and television in the bedroom.

- Propane+charcoal BBQ grill on the side of the house to cook up something tasty!

- Washer and Dryer are outside with available detergent.

- Long driveway for multiple cars with the house nestled far back into the property to give you some additional privacy.

Everything you need to comfortably relax and get away for a few days. Perfect location, clean, and ready for use. Nearby food and shopping make it convenient as well.

Cool bungalow with great access to trails and back roads in the Santa Monica Mountains

This was one of the best trips of my life, thanks in part to Jon and Laura's wonderful hospitality and the location of this cottage. I enjoyed many days of hiking and driving around the surrounding mountains and canyons, as well as the proximity to so many great restaurants!

Perfect for 2

The property is indeed "cozy", but perfectly suited for 2, though I think one could comfortably add an infant or toddler. The house is not fancy, but the setting is beautiful, and we were able to view wildlife from our front window every day. Convenient to grocery store and other shopping. The owner was a joy, checking on us nearly every day by text to make sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend to others.

Cozy Cottage

I really enjoyed this cozy cottage although it was a little difficult to find at first, even with GPS. The street sign is very high up and hidden by a tree from one direction, but if you miss it the first time, at least my GPS brought me around from another direction and I was able to see the street sign. I learned the landmarks and was able to find it even in the dark after that. Very attentive owners and very responsive to questions. A very enjoyable stay.
