Our 1926 cottage is a secret Zen retreat! It is nestled in the hills below Topanga and surrounded by sounds of nature & lovely views. Every guest seems to find a spot to fall in love with! Retreat offers a spacious cafe style lit deck with amazing views, succulent garden, gorgeous deck off main suite w/ vast views, a calming study to read in & a tranquil meditation style loft. The newly renovated kitchen creates an amazing culinary experience. Steps away from hiking trails & minutes from PCH.

Natural light filled rooms inspire our guests to open the windows, turn on music and be in the moment. Fabulous windows throughout the cottage create such a perfect energy.

Three bedrooms all with a Zen vibe, a peaceful study & office space, cozy living room and chefs kitchen are what make up your unique stay at the cottage. It is a space of respite, calm, reset and sweet reminders of being in the moment.

Make yourself a morning coffee at the cafe bar, enjoy the sounds of birds chirping on the deck and head out to start your day off right. Whether its hiking, biking, going to the beach, shopping, eating some of the best food, or relaxing... it is all just minutes from the treehouse.

Our little cottage is the recipe for a perfect start to the day. The treehouse is centrally located to amazing restaurants, boutique shopping, endless hiking trails and beaches.

Upon your return to the treehouse, the decks are the perfect place to enjoy golden hour with your loved ones. Sip on a glass of wine, under the cafe lights, as the breeze fills the air and good conversation fills your soul. Evenings under the stars become the most memorable ones.

The Zen Treehouse is a little slice of Heaven in the Woodland Hills area of L.A. It is an old house with many modern amenities. You'll get in there and never want to leave.

This is our third time staying in the Zen treehouse. It is cozy, well appointed in every way, and the views are spectacular. We also take a walk every morning into the canyon a couple of blocks up from the house. The views are even more spectacular, overlooking all of Woodland Hills. Highly recommend this place for those who can take stairs fairly easily. Thank you!

We had an AMAZING stay!! The home was spotless and felt so intentionally decorated. It was very apparent that AJ cares about the home and the guests that stay in it. The kitchen was fully loaded with cookware that can actually be used. We had a hard time convincing ourselves to leave the house because of how comfortable and beautiful it was!

Everything was fantastic with the Zen treehouse. My only disappointment was the location in the listing wasn’t where the map showed it and it was in a completely different neighborhood making my walk to my sons home more of a car ride that had to be managed, but other than that- fabulous experience.

First off, host communication was incredible. Never seen such rapid response. Highest rated host ever!House was cute and is definitely like a treehouse. However, that does come with some issues. This is not a home for anyone with mobility issues or senior dog. The steps down to carport are lil' sketchy at night and lights are not working. It's a funky old home and there is some obvious deferred maintenance needed, but that's a constant w/any old home. Ceiling fans would be much appreciated here. Carport parking was interesting w/a full size pick-up and would have been tough w/a 2nd vehicle. Neighborhood streets are not full-size truck friendly, but doable if you have some skill. Really had fun on the deck! My dog enjoyed watching squirrels run around in the pines. Deck is not fully enclosed (or property) and that was a shame. Everything worked great inside the home (except master shower head is leaking FYI). Lots of great flop areas in the living room and the couch was crazy comfortable! TV gets tons of channels and worked fine. Turned a/c on around 1am because it became hot upstairs w/o ceiling fan. For me by staying only one night, I think it would have been easier (and cheaper) to do a hotel. This home really deserves longer stays and being filled w/friends to really use it's potential. Would be a great couples get away or small gathering of friends. Definitely not a party house because sound travels in the canyon. Overall, a good stay and new location experience .

Such a beautiful space! My spouse, two kids and I loved our stay at the treehouse. The house feels quiet and serene, but is super close to all the Woodland Hills amenities and Topanga Canyon. The kids loved hanging out in the loft space! Highlights include the full stocked kitchen, gas grill, beautiful views and the upstairs Toto toilet! We would love to stay here again.

Pre wedding home base for son’s wedding

The inside was immaculate and had a very spa like vibe. Aptly named Zen treehouse it was a really cozy and quiet environment. Outdoor space was also wonderful with several areas to sit and chill enjoy the views. Instructions for check in were clear, kitchen very well appointed great to have gas grill as well. Great to have the carport as well

Just wow.

This is our second stay at the Zen Treehouse. I actually don't want to write this review, because I want to book this spot for every time I visit L.A.. AJ has thought of literally everything to make the stay easy and relaxing--- including the kitchen being fully stocked. What else can I say... the furniture is plush, the outdoor spots are bathed in sun, with birds chirping, and beautiful views. She was warm and responsive when I called with questions. Relax and enjoy!

A world away

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Zen treehouse, and it was truly a magical experience. The lovely and natural surroundings immediately caught our attention upon arrival, and the impeccable design of the house created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. What made this vbro truly special was our host, Aj. She was the perfect host, going above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. She even surprised us with a Christmas tree, which added to the overall warmth and coziness of the house. It was a delightful and unexpected touch that made our stay even more memorable. The location was also ideal, as we were close to all the amenities we needed, including great restaurants and shopping. But when we sat and looked out at the trees, we felt like we were a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The breathtaking sunrise was the perfect way to start each day, adding to the overall sense of tranquility. A great stay perfect place and host - we can’t wait to visit again Trish Grant and Shea

This space was truly beautiful. Absolutely dreamy. I wasn't to be in the hills but was still a plus. The view was stunning and i would wake up every morning just to watch yhe sunrise. I was not ready to check out.

Charm and Relaxation

This August, my family stayed for about a week at AJ's Zen Treehouse Retreat. It was ridiculously charming and full of small touches that made it easy to enjoy ourselves. Stocked with every kitchen gadget you can imagine, a sweet gift bag, and a gorgeous deck, we spent time reading, taking in the views, and exploring the area. Highly recommended.

Our stay at the Treehouse met all our expectations and helped us regain our composure. The house is nestled in trees and the neighborhood is so tranquil that you have the feeling of being alone in the woods even when having coffee on the deck. The cottage was ready in time, the guidebook explained everything in details and made it easy to quickly get acquainted with the dishwasher, TV and all amenities. Everything worked as described and nothing was broken, iffy or sub-standard. Anneliese did everything to make us at home by connecting with us prior to our arrival, writing a nice welcome message and even offering thoughtful gifts to improve our experience. She did not have to do any of this but her kindness and thoughtfulness is reflected through out the house. If you take the time to contemplate the decoration, the materials and attention to details you realize that it did not happen overnight. All of it took time because she cherishes her house and wanted to create a warm and cozy feeling that you can’t find in modern condos. We are very grateful to have had the chance to stay in her Treehouse. Thank you Anneliese.

Zen in Woodlands Hills

The Zen Treehouse is truly a great place to stay and is accurately represented in the photos. I highly recommend this property for folks who don't mind a few stairs. AJ your host is very responsive and goes the extra mile to welcome you to her home.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I am an Angelino through and through. I strongly believe in surrounding myself with beautiful spaces and creating special memories with my family and friends. Whether it is traveling the world, skiing 70-100 days a year, exercising often, raising my 2 daughters...I do my very best to make each day count.

I get such joy from hosting people at my property. I love connecting with guests from all around the world. I take such pride in providing a memorable experience to all who walk through the door of this special retreat.
