Renovated Lakefront Home with Stunning View

This charming 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat is the ideal spot for a weekend escape, a vacation, or holiday gatherings. Enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and mountains from the entire front of the home, including the kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, and bathrooms.

Conveniently located just 25 miles from downtown Asheville, this home offers both adventure and tranquility. Explore nearby attractions such as the Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, kayak on Lake Junaluska, browse the local shops in Waynesville, or tour the magnificent Biltmore House in Asheville.

The lake features a scenic paved trail that loops for nearly 4 miles. Amenities include a large playground, tennis courts, mini golf, pickleball, sand volleyball, a basketball court, shuffleboard, a fitness center, and a library. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards; we’ve recently added kayaks to our collection for your enjoyment. Plus, a beautiful golf course is right across from the lake, with several more courses nearby. For outdoor fun, enjoy our collection of yard games on the spacious, flat front lawn.

This home has a special place in our hearts. Originally built by Zac’s grandparents in 1960, we’ve recently renovated it to preserve its unique character while adding modern comforts. We look forward to creating new memories and traditions here, ourselves, and are thrilled to share this special place with you.

Had a fantastic stay at this home. The home itself is beautifully renovated and well stocked. The views of the lake from front of the home, kitchen and throughout are amazing as well. On top of a great home, Kathleen the owner was fantastic to deal with. Very responsive and made the whole process extremely easy. Highly recommend to all. We will be back!

Wonderfully updated house. Kitchen is open and efficient with great island. Amazing master shower. Outdoor spaces are welcoming, both front and back.Furniture and beds are comfortable with nice linens.Location is perfect with a beautiful view of lake and lake walk accessible in front of house.

Wonderful getaway!

Was great to be close to so many amenities and to have a view each morning as we started the day. Hosts were incredibly helpful, even sending real-time updates on construction and a road closure at the end of the lake. It was wonderful!

Peaceful lovely vacation

We have been staying at various places around LJ since 1997 and this is one of our favorites. Owner was very responsive to any questions. House was clean and kitchen has been completely remodeled and is open with great natural light, not to mention, well stocked with just about anything you may need. The property has a big level yard and a covered patio and garage. The view was so peaceful and I loved waking up every morning and seeing that view. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Kathleen for being a great hostess.

SPRING GETAWAY

We have stayed at the lake previously and totally enjoyed the location and quiet nature of this property. The house was spacious and well furnished. Communication with Kathleen was excellent. Nothing like sitting in front of the fire or looking out over the lake while enjoying a meal. We look forward to our next stay here.

Ski Trip

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful home overlooking Lake Junaluska. We were near Cataloochee Ski Resort where we skied. We also were near Asheville and Waynesville. We enjoyed walking around the lake and spending time at the beautiful home. We would stay here again.

Weekend at Lake Junaluska

This is our 2nd year staying at this Lake Junaluska property. We are a family of 5 with 3 young adult children. We enjoy walking around the lake on level well maintained paths, sidewalks and bridges. This is a scenic, safe and friendly community. The renovated house has a beautiful front view and is close to Waynesville. Our host kept in touch and was quick to give a personal response to an email or text.

Great stay

We had wonderful stay at Zac and Kathleen's home. Anything you need is there, and it's well organized so you can find what you need. I loved the location because the driveway is flat and it's right there along the walking path. We would absolutely stay here again. Kathleen was communicative, proactive and helpful. Thanks for everything.

Great place for a family vacation or celebration.

We walked the lake, made use of the kayaks, ate at wonderful local restaurants and just relaxed and enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the lake and the area. Activities available for all ages close by.

Perfect Stay

I highly recommend this house for a wonderful relaxing stay. It is updated with everything you need to enjoy the beautiful area of Lake Junaluska and Waynesville. The host is great to work with and goes over and above to help. The house is perfectly clean and has the best view of the lake and mountains. We loved it!

I love the area, but now I can include our home away from home ! The home was very clean, roomy, & homey. The location had easy access to the walking trail, to restaurants , and was as peaceful & quiet that I had hoped for. Thank you again to Kathleen Carswell for a wonderful weekend!

Absolutely Perfect

This was by far the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in. From the very beginning, Kathleen communicated with me and let me know all the details, even local recommendations and tips. Her friendly, warm demeanor made us feel like we were staying at a friend's house! There are so many things about this house that I love. The charming vintage feel is perfect (and the upgraded fixtures make it sparkle), and the setting is stunning. It's right across the road from the lake with mountains in the background. It's a beautiful view from the kitchen table. We cooked most of our meals at the house, and it had everything we needed (pans, utensils, oil, spices, etc). The beds were super comfortable and the furniture by the fire place was so cozy. The game table was a hit--our teenage daughters played for hours. It rained while we were there, so the closed garage was super convenient. I really can't say enough about this house and about Kathleen. She left thoughtful gifts for us upon our arrival as well--so sweet! I highly recommend staying here; you will love it. I can't wait to book it again in the future.

Perfect Place On The Lake!

The house and location exceeded expectations! Entire process was easy. Communication with the owners was excellent. The house was spotless and nicely decorated with attention to detail to make our stay comfortable. It was plenty spacious for our family of 4 adults and our beloved golden doodle. This was a big plus to be able to bring the family dog. The views of the lake were amazing and perfect spot to read. We appreciated that there was enough seating to be comfortable. One bonus that isn’t always common in the mountains is the driveway was flat and spacious. Can’t wait to return!

Birthday surprises

We’ve been vacationing in Waynesville for nearly 20 years. We’ve always stayed in mountain rentals. Lake Junaluska changed our plans. We fell IN LOVE with all the property has to offer. The house was clean and comfortable. Our dog loved the flat large front yard and we walked the lake route every day. Sunday morning we walked to the Crepe house for brunch. We couldn’t have asked for more and Kathleen checked in several times to make sure we were comfortable! We would love to visit again in the summer but it is already booked up. If you are thinking of renting this house, don’t linger! It is worth every penny and we look forward to our next visit.

This home has a special story. Zac's grandparents built this home in 1960, and we just renovated it this fall. We are excited for it to stay in the family and make traditions and memories there ourselves in the coming years and now also share it with you. We have worked hard to keep its character through the update, make it feel like home, and provide all of your necessities to make your stay wonderful!

It is a great location all year- whether you are looking to ski in the winter, see the leaves and hike in the fall, have fun on the water in the summer, or see the Biltmore House at Christmas.
