This is not a “luxury” villa.
Unfortunately, during our stay we encountered a number of problems with the house that I do not believe are reasonable to tolerate nor reflected the luxury description.
- General disrepair throughout the property, there are several examples of damage in the rooms that has not been repaired or covered up (in one of the rooms it's clear the curtains have been reinstalled at least 3 times).
- Upon arrival there was no running water in the toilets, the guests were required to turn on the supply so they flush.
- The property is advertised as having balcony space but the doors were locked and I was told these could not be unlocked.
- Whilst I acknowledged a tropical climate attracts insects, we had a huge ant infestation in the living area, top en-suite bedroom (where guests needed to plug gaps in the air-con unit with tissue to stop the flow of ants - this was later sealed by Jaco VIP after 2 days), and the top bathroom also had ants on toothbrushes. Insects "making their way into" the property is to be expected, an infestation is not.
- The overall cleanliness of the property was below par of what I would expect from accommodation described as luxury.
Overall I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the accommodation as it did not reflect what we had booked. I have relayed these concerns to the host but, despite initial responses, they have ignored my complaints.
I would not recommend this property if you are staying in Jaco.
