The Mayor's Cottage is a newly renovated cottage perfectly located in downtown Waynesville, only 2 blocks from the town's thriving Main Street and easily accessible to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smokies National Park, and other area amenities and attractions. Cozy and attractive, it provides comfort and convenience while retaining its historical charm. The large fenced-in yard is perfect for children to play in and also for small dogs, which may be allowed with pre-approval by the owner.

Loved our stay

This great little cottage is very convenient to the shops, restaurants, etc. in downtown Waynesville. Clean, walking distance to main street, dog friendly. We really enjoyed out stay.

Cozy cottage and great location

Nice location, about a 5min walk to downtown which was very convenient and relatively flat too. Molly was terrific to deal with and takes exceptional care of the property to make it very welcoming for guests. Would highly recommended this lovely cottage to anyone planning to visit Waynesville area!

Mayor's Cottage for a 4-day weekend

This property was a terrific place to stay. The host was excellent and responsive in communications. The property was clean, orderly, and had everything we needed. We very much appreciated the history and decor of the building. Location is very good - a block off of downtown.

Somewhere in time

Cottage is very clean and decor is perfect if you want to experience a quieter time in history. We had pets and yard with cottage was enclosed and they loved their experience. Host is very easy to communicate with. We loved our time at the Mayors Cottage. It is very close, 10 minute walk to downtown

We Loved Our Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mayor’s Cottage in Waynesville, NC. The host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. She was very attentive to our needs and made our stay special. The cottage was very clean, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and, because it is located one block from downtown, walking to Main Street for a coffee/meal and to shop a bit was fun and convenient. We’d definitely stay there again!

My husband wants to move to the cottage.

Charming and very comfortable. Every thing worked and the instructions were clear and complete. My husband liked the size. He says it is the perfect size for 2 people. I loved the location. It is a short walk to Main Street with all the interesting shops and great restaurants. I hope to stay again soon.

The Mayor's Cottage was perfect for my dtay. It's a block or so from main street and easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants and breweries. It is tastefully decorated and has everything you might need for your stay. Communication with the owner was exceptional. Will definitely book again. Cheers!

Lovely Waynesville Cottage with Great Location

It was so peaceful. The backyard area is divine for relaxing with a cup or coffee or tea and listening to the birds chirp in the morning. You can walk right up to Main Street or down to the Saturday morning market within moments. The cottage was clean and well stocked with everything I needed. Bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the quality sheets and towels. Thank you to the Foy Sisters for the great stay. Would absolutely stay again.

Mayors cottage is a step back in time. Property is fenced and excellent for pets. Cottage was excellent in cleanliness and possessed all necessary items you need in a household such as towels, cleaners etc. for cold nights guests can sit by a beautiful fire as you watch tv.Lastly the cottage is in walking distance of downtown Waynesville and the neighborhood is excellent foe walking.

Great bed and bedding. Slept like a baby! Very comfortable cottage that was easy walking distance to my meeting. The house was charming, and I was really thrilled with the library and the fireplace. When I returned to Waynesville, I will try to book this listing again. I expect I’ll have to do it a while in advance as I’m sure the occupancy is high.

Fantastic cottage!

This charming cottage is perfectly located a short walk from Main Street, near all the shops and restaurants. It is well stocked with anything you might need .. the owner is super nice and responds Immediately to any request. Highly recommend!!

My two sisters and I (co-hosts of The Mayor's Cottage) grew up next door and spent a lot of time in the cottage when our grandmother lived there. We have maintained it and renovated it with love, and we hope our guests soak up its historical charm while enjoying all of the modern conveniences that we've added. We are happy to answer questions any time and are honored to be your host.

The property was beautifully updated during the winter of 2021-22. It is all on one level, so no stair-climbing is required. Interior doorways connect the living area to the bedroom and the bedroom to the spacious bathroom. The living, dining, and kitchen areas are connected via open floor plan. Large windows and recessed lighting make the interiors bright and welcoming. The seating furniture is comfortable and plentiful. Located next to a large window, the dining table can double as workspace. All rooms can be heated in cooler months, and the new air-cooling mini-split unit, plus bedroom ceiling fan, will keep guests comfortable when it's hot outside.

The Mayor's Cottage is located in a quiet residential neighborhood at the center of town. You'll find many activities nearby, but you can also drive to Asheville in 30 minutes to visit popular attractions, such as the Biltmore Estate. If you're looking for great scenery and hiking, you'll be on the Blue Ridge Parkway in 15 minutes. And it's a convenient base for enjoying beautiful Cataloochee Valley, the Cataloochee Ski Resort, Nantahala and Pisgah forests, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or just a leisurely stroll around Lake Junaluska.

Private (and free), off-road parking is available for a single vehicle. The neighborhood and downtown areas are easily walkable, if desired. This is also a great area for biking.

Guests have access to the entire structure, as well as to the grassy front yard and the large, fenced-in backyard.

The Mayor's Cottage is perfect for people of all ages, including couples, single adults, and small families. TV service includes channels provided through DirecTV, and the smart TV itself allows for streaming through guests' own subscriptions and devices. Board games, puzzles, and DVDs, as well as a wall-full of books, are available for our guests' indoor entertainment.

To ensure you get settled in and have a great start to your visit, we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, detergents and other essentials. However, these may not be enough for those booking an extended stay, and you may need to purchase additional supplies.

NOTE: Exterior-only security cameras (2) are installed for the protection of the property and our guests. (There are no other video or audio recording devices on premises.)
