Pirate's Lair (w/hot tub!) @pirateslairobx

Come spend your OBX vacation immersed in the rich, local history. Updated, 1st level, in-law suite, minutes from sound side beaches, and a short drive to a front row seat of the Graveyard of the Atlantic. This quiet spot is located in a gated community, with basketball & tennis/pickelball courts, and a waterfront playground. There is also access to a community boat ramp for an additional fee. The space is approx 450 sq ft. Check us out on instagram @pirateslairobx for more about what's nearby!
The space
Updated, studio style space with kitchenette and full bathroom. Walking distance to sound side beaches, and access to a variety of beaches, groceries, restaurants and entertainment within 10-15 minutes drive.
Guest access
As you arrive to the neighbourhood, you'll stay to the left to obtain a guest pass for your stay. Once you pull into the driveway, your entry way is located on the RIGHT side of the house. You'll have access to a full studio suite with it's own kitchenette and bathroom. Our hot tub is located on the lower front porch and is free to use at your leisure.

Great stay at Pirate’s Lair

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the place very much. It is so cute and has all the immunities that you need. Phil was so quick to respond to any questions. Place was clean and very comfortable! Hoping to be back next year!

This place is a treasure! What a super cool place, perfect little living room, big o' bed, but the real treasure was the hot tub! Phil is great and super easy to check-in. We found out new spot at OBX! Thanks Phil!

Cute little Pirate property

Very cosy place close to shops and restaurants. Phil was a cool dude and was very responsive to any questions I had and very kind We had a few minor hiccups on our part but host was very understanding and responsive and fixed the problem very quickly. The hot tub was a plus and property was clean. Would love to come back thanks again

Awesome 3 day spot

Phil was amazing with communication, he had no issue when our party of 3 turned to 4 and was excellent with helping set up. The house was clean and had everything we needed and more. It was a 5 minute walk to a public beach sound side. We were 10 minutes away from almost everything we wanted to do. We will definitely come back either as a family or just the two of us!

Great weekend

We spent three nights at the Pirates Lair. The host was very quick to respond to messages about check-in and the directions were clear. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole property was very clean. The location was great also - a short scenic drive to everything. The only problem we had was that it wasn't really a one bedroom. I never get a hotel room when I travel with my son be cause he snores! I like one of us to be behind closed doors and I thought I would get that here, The 'bedroom' is a bed hidden behind a dresser/bookshelf type stand with no door or real separation. If you know that going in, you'll enjoy your stay!

Great Stay (but hot tub needs work/directions)

Fun little place to stay. Love the Pirate Theme! Had everything we needed and place was clean and comfy. Had difficulty with getting TV on (and off). When we wanted it completely off, we just had to unplug it. Our main reason for booking this place over other choices was the hottub. Although it was a great size and clean, we had to contact the host to get it turned on and working. The jets in the hot tub need work; hardly any pressure at all...which we were really in need of for sore muscles. Didn't bother turning on the 2nd night. Suggest the host adds a sign with step by step instructuons for TV operation and the hottub.

Misleading Pictures

Property was nice, however the portion that was rented was extremely small. There was no privacy between the "bedroom" and the "living room/kitchen." Also, the beach was much further away than anticipated. Upon returning back to the property one night, the owner was home and it was very awkward that he was in the house with us. The walls are very thin so you could hear everything happening above the rental portion of the house by the owner.
