The cleanliness of the floors could be improved - there were snack food wrappers under the bed which caused an ant problem when we arrived. So we spent one half of our first day crawling around on the floor trying to figure out where they were coming from - put down some clorox wipes along the ant trail so they would hopefully not get in our belongings. A cleaning lady came and brought some bug spray - vaccuumed up the ants and sprayed the area.. We do thank our host management for their prompt response to this. The body lotion container in the walk in shower was broken at the top and water was standing on top of the lotion in the bottle. We would suggest having a wine opener in the kitchen drawer. Our unit was very well appointed - decent furniture, great refrigerator and all the necessary kitchen necessities. We would suggest putting drapes in the living room at the balcony windows and sliding door that can be wide enough to pull together because the morning sun is blinding if you are sitting in the living room as it comes up. These suggestions are made only to help the owner improve the comfort of the condo. Overall we were pleased with our stay and had a nice time. Our family has been coming to the Dolphin Run since the early 1980's. We have made a lot of memories there, and hope to make many more.

Great location

Like other reviews said the floor turned your feet black in the two spare bedrooms. Nothing available to mop it ourselves. The parking space was only for the size of a car not an SUV; however another car checking in swapped spaces with us so all was good. Staff were fantastic. Didn’t use the pool. Being right on the boardwalk, a huge plus! Although balcony repairs were to be done by the time we got there, they were not so we lost access to the balcony for a day and a half which was frustrating, but not the end of the world. All in all, a nice rental unit. Over priced, but nice

The Reality of Dolphin Run

THE GOOD: Spacious condo. Great view of the ocean. Updated bathroom, kitchen, appliances, and fixtures. Came with plates, cups, glasses, and a few pans for cooking. Very nice condo. THE BAD: Floor of condo was sandy when we arrived and there were many minor things that were in need of repair or replacement (blinds, ottoman, smoke detector, bathroom sink drain, AC unit filters, fridge water filter, balcony screen door, kitchen island light switch). Also, it's an old building in need of an upgrade. Building wifi is an absolute joke. I had a dial-up modem in 1998 that was faster. There were roaches on the balcony at night. Assigned parking spot that came with the unit was WAY too low for an SUV. Was basically told "oh well" by the staff when I asked what I could do. Indoor pool was gross. Super cloudy water and dirty. Ring of scum around the top tiles. I could go on but I won't. We dealt with the issues and had a nice time. I can't say that it was worth what we paid. We stay in VA Beach about four times a year. We like that part of the beach but sadly, we won't be staying at Dolphin Run again. The search for a regular place to stay when we visit continues.

Dishwasher did not have a tray for utensils. No dish cloth. Mismatched cutlery. Balconies had screens on them. Should be installed or put away
