We appreciated receiving your candid review regarding your recent visit to Roughin ‘it. To be honest, this is the first complaint we have had of this nature at this home. We have received comments regarding the wildlife in the area and the rustic-ness of the cabin, however we do address that in the property description by saying it is a rustic, mountain cabin and in a completely remote wooded setting. Contrary to your observations, we received a five-star review of the home just before and directly after your arrival and departure. We would like to address the issues you have mentioned. As for spider webs and cobwebs in the home. This house is on a quarterly pest control service, however being in a rustic home in a rural wooded area, spider webs and other insects pop up on a daily basis, particularly during the summer months. For this home, with full foliage around the property, cobwebs and spiders occur as a part of nature. As it states in the listing, this is a rustic home in a mountain setting. Although we do our best to prevent these issues from happening, unfortunately if we are not in the home right before check in, we can’t. As to the laundry and housekeeping, our housekeeping team are top notch and clean each home with care and pride. They use hospital grade anti-viricides and disinfectants to thoroughly clean each of our rental homes and we have an in-house laundry that does our linen service for each home, including Roughin’ it. We had also had a large amount of rain and as this sits in a wooded area, there will be a slight damp smell from the cabin logs that might occur. In addressing these points, we would like to stress you chose not to notify us of any of these issues with the home, either upon your arrival, during your stay or when you departed early. Your deposit was returned to you promptly You could have called on either our regular office number manned 9am-5pm or on our 24-hour emergency line, both of which are prominent in all of our collateral material – including in your check in information which states “Problems, Concerns, Don’t Wait, CALL US! We want your visit to go as smoothly as possible and we are here for you. Give us a call if you run into any issues or concerns at any point during your visit. We can be reached Monday – Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, 828-926-4270 After Hours and Weekends Emergency, 828-400-4007” To that point, you robbed us of the any opportunity to rectify the situation and make it right immediately, which we would have been more than happy to do, given the issues you have described here. Again, we hate that you didn’t feel the need to reach out and have these issues addressed until after your departure and your review here and on Google, but we appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our services. With the cabin's rural aspect, cable and internet can definitely be a challenge. And yes, 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required to access the cabin for sure. Thank you for your candid review of Roughin' it, our vacation rental cabin. We try to make sure folks are aware this is a rustic cabin high in the mountains and things such as cobwebs etc., can apprear at any time. We are very transparent regarding the road, the rusticness of the home and the road's travelability but unfortunately a popped tire could have been for numerous reasons, the same as with internet service which we tried to get rectified for you as quickly as we could. Unfortunately, situations such as these do happen from time to time. We have passed your comments on to the owner as well. We hope you will choose to visit us a again in the future!
