Practically perfect!! Quiet mid-island beach retreat, centrally located to all!

Live the island life, SSI style ... ocean breezes, sandy beaches, live oaks, Spanish moss, salt marshes, bike trails, golf courses, coastal birds, charming village, fishing trips, sunset chases, and sunrise beauties. It's a sweet, sweet life!

Welcome to Sand Dollar….as wonderful an island treasure as its beach namesake!

Located mid-island, tucked away from the street, you are centrally located to see ALL of the island's beauties, not just the beaches (see distances below)...with bike trails all around the island.

This charming 3 bed / 2 bath (open split floor plan) with 2 car garage is newly renovated and available May 15, 2022. Your long driveway leads you to your private island retreat, with a covered front porch (4 rockers waiting for you!) and fenced in backyard dining/living. It’s fully furnished with upscale coastal furnishings and decor, as well as all your kitchen appliances and essentials, two smart TVs, and washer / dryer.

And if you need anything, you have great neighbors - US! We live next door and happy to help, even if with just island dining or activity suggestions.

In addition to the weekly rate, we offer discounted rates for longer term rentals (all utilities, bi-monthly cleaning, and yard maintenance included) and accept full FLETC per diem.
Weekly: $1,925
Monthly: $5,200
Monthly/Long term (for 3 months or longer): $4,200

Pets are considered, with a $100 non-refundable pet fee for 1 pet(short term rental) and $250 (long term rental); $50 for each additional pet (short term/llong term). Sand Dollar is also a non-smoking residence.

- 3.7 miles to Causeway (exit for mainland, Jekyll Island, etc.)

NORTH END:
- 1.6 miles to Fort Frederica (history!)
- 1.6 miles to Christ Church (one of oldest churches in GA)
- 4.3 miles to Cannon's Point (greenspace)

SOUTH END:
- 5 miles to the beaches (East Beach, Massengale, Gould's Inlet)

We enjoyed our vacation on Saint Simons Island, GA, staying in a beautiful and welcoming home. Bill and Tamara Langham, our hosts, were exceptionally gracious, making us feel right at ease from the moment we arrived. The house itself was comfortable, well-appointed, and perfectly situated to experience the peaceful charm of island living. Each day brought a sense of tranquility, whether we were relaxing on the porch, exploring the scenic surroundings, or simply soaking in the gentle coastal atmosphere. It was a truly memorable getaway, thanks to both the lovely accommodations and the warm hospitality of our hosts.

Practically Perfect, Indeed!!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Sanddollar! The space is well appointed, perfect for a family, is beautifully decorated with just the right balance. The place was spotless upon check in. The outdoor areas are a wonderful extension of the home…we spent almost as much time on the back patio as we did inside. Bill and Tamara are wonderful host…if you have concerns about the owners being right next door, don’t! They were hospitable but truly respected our family and privacy. This was the first trip that we didn’t feel the need to pack a bunch of household extras…and we didn’t need them because the house was stocked with the perfect amount of goods (shower necessities, towels, linens, blankets, toilet paper and paper towels, etc). The location is perfect to get away from the sometimes crowded areas of the island. It’s a lovely walk to Harrington Park and so close to some delicious restaurants. Harris Teeter is only a few minutes away, too. And there’s a brand new Friendly’s store that’s walkable if you need to grab a quick item. I was worried driving to East Beach would be an inconvenience, but it was just perfect. We’ve only been gone one day and are ready to book again and come back to SSI!

Island Living at its Best at Sand Dollar

The Langhams are gracious hosts who made us feel welcome and right at home! Sand Dollar is a lovey home located mid island and is beautifully maintained, decorated and filled with all the comforts one needs. Its near proximity to the beaches, golf courses and marina makes it easy to settle down, relax, and fall into “island life” quickly. The Langham’s are wonderful resources who are happy to share their knowledge of the area and ensure you are taking advantage of all the local activities and festivities - whether you are young or old or somewhere in the middle, there’s something here for everyone. We love staying at Sand Dollar and look forward to returning here for many more years to come. We’re already planning our return trip!

Home away from home

Sanddollar is a beautiful, clean and well kept property. It is close to beaches and tasty restaurants. The hosts are amazing and friendly folks! They know the area very well and can provide great recommendations on how to get the most out of your time on the island. My friends and I spend a week at Sanddollar every year and always have a great time! If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway where you can truly appreciate “island time,” this is the place for you!

Comfortable Home on St Simons

The house was really nice. Bill, the owner, was good to work with and provided a very personalized welcome for us and our pet. The only downside was there was no grill (we knew that, just would be a nice edition).

Tranquil Bliss at Sand Dollar: A Perfect Beach Getaway

Our stay at Sand Dollar was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived, Bill and Tamara made us feel incredibly welcome. The beach home itself was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect—The home was quiet and relaxing, ideal for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the highlights was the peaceful atmosphere of Sand Dollar. It truly felt like a home away from home, with cozy furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, where we prepared delicious meals and enjoyed family dinners together. Bill and Tamara were exceptional hosts, responsive to our needs and providing excellent recommendations for local activities and dining spots. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Overall, our experience at Sand Dollar exceeded our expectations. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the opportunity to create lasting memories in such a wonderful place. My favorite stay!

This was my favorite VRBO stay to date! The house itself is exactly as pictured and very comfortable for a group of 3 couples. One of the highlights of our trip was spending time in the backyard and riding our bikes into town. The hosts, Tamara and Bill are very friendly and gave great restaurant and activity recommendations for during our stay. The Sand Dollar exceeded our expectations and I can’t wait to visit again! Thank you Tamara & Bill!

Sanddollar feels like home

We have spent much of 2023/24 winter season in this cheerful, comfortable, well equipped home. Minutes from golf, groceries and great restaurants it is nonetheless quiet except for the occasional rooster crowing. The island has much to offer, nothing is very far, and Sanddollar has been a wonderful jumping off spot. Bill and Tamara are excellent hosts…nearby if needed without compromising privacy in any way. We have loved it here.

What an amazing week!

I can not say enough good things about this property and the owners. If I’m being honest I was a little concerned about the owners being right now. Not that we are a rowdy bunch but there is something nice about having your own space and privacy. I can honestly say this was perfect! They are next door if you need them, but if not it’s completely private. We never even saw them only their sweet pups that would sometimes peel their head in the fence boards. :) this property was so cozy and had everything we could have needed. From the welcome gifts to the included shampoo and conditioner so many small details that made you feel special. We can’t wait to come for another visit! Book it! You will be glad you did!

Wonderful property and Hospitality

Thank you Bill & Tamara, For allowing us to stay at your wonderful property, we throughly enjoyed ourself and it was a god send that everything was on single level as our little frenchie hirl had hurt her self only a week before our stay, on medicines and was worried whether we would be able to make it. The location helped hugely in her recovery and convelescence and it was very welcomed recover for us, just relaxing and going down to the ocean. The family and I thoroughly enjoy our wonderful stay and the hospitality especially the very welcoming gift basket for our puppies and ourselves. If we come back to St Simons we would definitely like to stay with you again. Warmest regards Marc and Tara

Quiet and relaxing

Well kept home and lovely yard. Bright cheery colors and very comfortable. Eclectic mix of songbirds! Centrally located and convenient to all St Simons has to offer. We go there primarily for bike riding so this central location is best. Kitchen has everything you need for a stay and restaurants are very close by or easy Uber ride. Our elderly dog was quite comfortable and enjoyed the large yard. Our host Bill was really friendly and responded immediately to our questions. In all the years we have been using Vrbo this is the first time the owner had the house cleaned while we were there. Bonus! We plan to stay again.

The Best Vacation We've Had in Years

In a word, this stay at Sand Dollar was Spectacular. First and foremost, the property pics do not do the place justice at all. Impeccably kept is the only way I would describe it. While it might be intimidating to some to have the owners a privacy fence away, our family found there to be comfort in the owners being accessible, if need be. The owners left no detail out in preparing us for a relaxing and adventurous time. We lacked for nothing, even going down to the goodie basket, toiletries, towels, linens and everything else provided us by Bill and Tamara. Our two dogs were welcomed with open arms and embraced by the owners. The fenced in yard was a huge plus. It is so very nice to travel with our dogs as opposed to leaving them behind. More than enough room to occupy with three additional kids, should need arise. Cozy, comfortable, and inviting, we look forward to visiting there again in the future.

Everything was Perfect

Having rented many vacation rentals, seldom is everything perfect. It was at Sanddollar. Great quiet location, house easy to find and access, everything newly renovated inside, and, most importantly, owners/hosts that are really nice people and that really cared about our stay. I cannot overstate the importance of the hosts. We always felt respected of our privacy, but also felt we had friends right next door. Importantly to us, we were able to bring our dog to St. Simons and we were invited next door to Bill and Tamara's house for a dog get together. Very fun and kind of them to do. These sort of things make vacation rentals from owners a step above any other kind of rental. And by the way, St. Simons is the most dog friendly place we have visited, with dogs allowed on the beach, off the leash if in control, early in the morning and later in the evening. In addition, I am a fisherman and Bill gave me some great advice and even connected me with a guide. Indoor and outdoor space around the house was very comfortable.Like the title says. Everything was perfect.
