Canal front Coastal Cottage in Rockport off Estes Flats!

Matt and I grew up coming to Rockport as children; we both grew up on the southeast side of San Antonio and met in high school. Rockport has always been our home away from home and the kids made countless memories with time spent here since the 1980's. Our home is a true HOME that we built ourselves in 1999 after Matt's parents passed away and my father, a master carpenter with years of experience in construction to include the Alamodome and the San Antonio Library, retired from construction and needed a project. When I recently retired as a school teacher, Matt and I decided to share our home with others with an intent on allowing guests to enjoy a family friendly home versus a traditional rental option that does not offer the warmth and amenities that we can offer. This is our home and we know you will feel that difference when you experience the "homey" setting that we offer our guests. Our entire family loves to fish and some home photos throughout the house will reflect that passion; I am also a beach lover and have always loved Port Aransas but find myself at Rockport beach with our children and grandchildren whenever i need a sandy "fix".

City by the Sea is mainly waterfront homes that have access to Aransas Bay and specifically, Estes Flats known for its shallow water fishing. The neighborhood is a mix of full time homes and more recently, more short term rentals. The breeze is perfect up our back porch and patio areas. The water is safe for swimming with a ladder available and we have cleats for tying up a boat or just fishing from the dock. Kayaks are available. Our neighborhood does have quiet hours so even the evenings are best outside in our outdoor areas. Crab N, a well known restaurant in Rockport, is at the neighborhood entrance so you can easily walk down there for a great dinner. Our home sits in a perfect place nestled between Rockport and Aransas Pass; we are easy access to the ferry which will take you to Port Aransas and we are 30 minutes from Corpus Christi. It is perfect spot in all ways!

Our home's location and all the amenities we offer are definitely a cut above most rental properties. We have some of the best fishing spots just off our coastline. Rockport, Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi are minutes away and we have some wildlife and birding areas that are also close by. Many people will buy a waterfront or coastal property simply for the rental opportunity. That vibe is not us- we built a home and have offered that home to you, our guests, to enjoy the spaces and places we hold dear. We have rented along the years and have had rough sheets, ill equipped BBQ areas, kitchens without standard kitchen stuffs, the list is long. Not our home- we have our home set for our own comfort and liking, the true comforts of home. We have a kitchen that is well stocked, the spaces are comfortable, the sheets are soft, and the views are amazing. We have books, games, movies, and open areas for family time.
