The positive: the view from this house is spectacular! We enjoyed a fantastic sunset and watching all the water birds. The kitchen and primary bathroom had been more recently renovated and were very nice. The beds were comfortable and seemed pretty new and there were a lot of sleeping spaces. The cons: we got in late and found the house was missing some things in the primary bath that I would think would be available right away - there was no hand soap (a found a bottle of dish soap under the sink). There was only a hand towel in the primary bathroom. The hall bath had 6 towels in the closet, which I thought was definitely not enough for the number of people staying. The next day I did find more towels down in the laundry room cupboard. Another con was the TV precariously perched on a stand up in the loft when you first come up the stairs. I would think that kids' primarily sleep up there and could easily knock it over.The biggest con was the grime and trash in some places. The primary bath had no liner and there was some trash in there when I opened up the can. Several of the dresser drawers had trash from old clothing tags. The grossest was the carpet upstairs. It's old and I had to wear shoes because I kept stepping on crumbs on the carpet. Another con was that they require you to clean the microwave, stove, and fridge before leaving. That was definitely more than any other VRBO I've ever experienced. I would stay again if the house cleaning was better handled.
