Worst Rental Ever!1. Pictures are not reflective of condition of house2. Very few things were in working order - fans, fireplace, refrigerator 3. Sewer smell from 2nd floor shower4. Elevator but you cannot use.5. Furniture is old and looks like came from Goodwill6. House is not secure - doors that don’t close due to warped frames and outside gate that a 2 year old could access.7. Rusty and decrepit outside furniture8. Pool area was horrible - planters were full of weeds and no place to sit9. Pool was not cleaned during our stay and was supposed to be10. Owner trying to hold some of our deposit for things that were clearly out of order prior to our stay11. Mattresses were old and looked like they were borrowed from a Russian GulagI would not recommend anyone stay here unless you want a very disappointing experience.

Family vacation

The house is wonderful! Everybody really enjoyed it! This is the third place we have stayed at the last three years and everybody said this was the best so far! Just a few minor things happened, but nothing to stop us from coming back again!

Best stay

Crown Jewel of South Padre was awesome!!! Johnny the house host was excellent. He wrote and respond everyday to make sure we where comfortable and everything was fine. The house is as beautiful as the pictures are. Overall the best vacation home I have ever stayed in. Make sure to book Crown Jewel of South Padre..

I rented this home two years in a row. Last year, the lack of maintenance and degradation was surprising as it was only 4 years old. But due to having elderly relatives traveling with us we needed a home with an elevator. This year the disrepair was exacerbated and it was clear that maintenance was not a priority. The air vents (7 at the 3rd floor) dripped water as the AC condensate line was clogged and the 3rd floor ceiling had water dripping from the light fixtures! The maintenance man came and looked at it, leaned on the wall playing on his phone for 15 minutes he said it was fixed. I watched him the entire time and he never did anything! Are you for real? The dripping of water continued throughout our stay.The kitchen cabinets handles were caked with grease-disgusting. The pull out drawer for the trash fell on the floor when opened as the hinges were completed broken. The porch ceiling fans were missing 2 of the 3 blades at 4 locations. 8 of the 12 exterior lights did not work - rusted and corroded. The interior ceiling fans would intermittently turn on and off and the lights in the house would flicker - definitely an electrical short. Garage door opener is broke as it’s was last year. Gaps under the sliding glass doors and none of them would lock-big security issue! 2 Shower doors broken.Don’t be deceived. The pictures were taken when the house was new but the current condition does not match. Find another rental and save yourself the disappointment.

The property was clean and located in a wonderful spot right across the road from a public beach access. Check in was easy and household instructions are provided via online link, although the instructions should be updated to reflect correct property management contact details. The pool was nice and accommodations were comfortable. Towels, starter toiletries, paper towels, garbage bags, dish detergent, etc. were provided. The kitchen was equipped for cooking and etc. The central air worked nicely too. There were some minor maintenance issues, aside from normal wear and tear, such as the bathroom pocket door in the first floor bedroom was off the track and couldn’t be closed, as well as the shower door in one of the bedrooms on the second floor wouldn’t close properly making that shower unusable. There was also another bathroom on the second floor that had a very slow drain which allow water to accumulate inside the shower but it did eventually drain. We did communicate the maintenance issues to property management on day one but they never sent maintenance to resolve the reported issues during our stay, despite several follow ups via texts. Also, one additional minor issue was the internet was a little slow for such a large house, making streaming difficult at times (buffering at times while trying to watch movies). Overall, our stay was enjoyable and the location was conveniently located.

RUN FROM THIS PROPERTY CANCEL RESERVATIONS

The air conditioning was controlled externally by the owners of the property which was never represented to us or in our contract. They would raise the temperature into the upper 70s every Night at 11:45 and again at 11am. We were sweating every night and we were unable to do anything about it despite our attempts to have those controls removed through the property manager and 2 technicians. Filters had not been replaced in years according to tech. One said they need 2 new AC units and Thermostats were locked with a code. Next the dryer wouldn't work properly because of a bird's nest which had to be removed from vent. 4 feet long. Try drying 3 items at a time for 13 people each nigh until repaired Dishwasher broke and was not repaired or replaced while we were there. Dishes for 13 people everynight pool full of sand and dirty 4 days to get it cleaned Stickers in backyard grass and no lock for gate to protect kids Ants on food in pantry. Kitchen furniture shedding material coverd the floor 4 Toilet seats broken or unattached Sliding doors rusted almost impossible to open Elevator unusable because of threats of fines of 800-1600 if something happened. Told only 1 person at a time , no luggage, no coolers, etc allowed in elevator. We had to carry all of our items up the stairs everyday. We requested a refund of 50% because of the issues and misrepresentation of controls on AC and elevator they offered 500 dollars after paying 15k for our stay. Beware Beware CANCEL !

Great place

Place was immaculate. The view of the beach was spectacular and was a 30 second walk from the property. Great place and would definitely stay there again.
