Very nice place. As a couple with our dog, my husband and I loved the place and it was great to have a fenced yard. Enjoyed the pretty lake on our little boat and was a great 5 days. Yes the communication is great too.

This lake cottage made for an amazing trip! Ample space for our dogs to run around, swim, and play fetch. Interior was clean, all the home ammenities, and comfy beds. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood with amazing views. Highly recommend and will definately re-book for another stay in the future!

Incredible stay right by the water!! Super pet friendly with the fenced in lot, my 2 dogs had a blast running around and playing with the toys that were there. Enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the back patio while the dogs ran around. Honestly didn’t even have to leave the house, we Uber Eats some dinner and enjoyed the outdoor area under the house with the swings and dining table. Perfect for a little getaway! Would love to come back in the future!! Very cute and quiet!

Wonderful home! So wonderful we tried to stay another night but it was already booked. Very clean, updated and has everything you need. The owners put a lot of thought into the home. Highly recommend!

Enjoyable 3 day stay with my little furball companion. Property clean and very well stocked with just about all that would be needed. Stairs were a bit much for this old gal but I k ew that from the start. No hidden surprises. Nice evenings fishing, quiet time and a peaceful setting was what I needed. Many thanks.

Our stay at Mallard Cottage was wonderful. The cottage was perfect, almost mint condition and our golden retriever especially loved the fenced in yard with easy access to the water.

Perfect! Love all the touches for our pups. Obviously has had upgrades to the property - it's really nice! Dock was in excellent shape, views were spectacular! Communication was very good - had all the info we need for a smooth check in and check out process.

The property is in immaculate condition and the views of the lake were fantastic. The communication was outstanding as they were very quick to respond to any questions and extremely accommodating. We will definitely stay there again!

This was our 2nd stay here. Lovely property, impeccably clean, and well appointed. Our pups absolutely love the large, securely-fenced yard. The owners make our fur-family feel right at home with toys, snacks, and dog bowls!

Our stay at Mallard Cottage was peaceful and relaxing! The house was clean, well-stocked with updated appliances, comfortable, and private considering it’s not quite boating season. We didn’t bring a pet but noticed the dog toys and treats available to guests! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and drinking coffee while watching the waterfowl do their morning routines. I would recommend staying here and I would visit again if the opportunity came!

Perfect Pet and People Getaway

Took our little beagle for her first vacation. She loved the fenced in yard! The house and location are perfect, so clean, great views, peaceful. Couldn’t have found a better place for a birthday vacation!

It was a clean and nice place. The view was very nice and all neighbors were friendly. Being able to bring our pets along to enjoy and experience the water was also nice. Great experience . 👍

Perfect For Families - Relax & Enjoy

Our stay at Mallard Cottage was lovely. The lake was quiet, which made for such a relaxing stay. We were able to launch our kayaks, and paddle boards so easily. The kids could launch the kayaks on their own. The cottage looked just like the pictures in the listing. We had everything we needed, and more. The hosts we so kind, and quick to respond. We will definitely be back!

Lovely lakehouse

First time at VRBO and absolutely loved this place. Now I have high expectations. Nice, clean, well stocked on a lakefront property with covered deck, dock and outside amenities. I will return. Thank you for a fantastic first time experience!

Great Cottage

I was looking for a great place to stay for a week just to get away when i came across mallard cottage. The cottage was clean and check in was fantastic. The location was great as it was located equal distance from Asheville and Charlotte. The views from the deck were outstanding and a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee while watching the ducks swim around. Our fur baby enjoyed the fenced in yard. Communication was great with property manager and there were no surprises. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking to come back next year.

Tranquil Paradise

Immaculate home on Lookout Lake. The thoughtfulness put into this space was amazing. Beautiful inside & out with incredible views. Enjoyed swimming, fishing and paddle boarding right off private dock. Lovely fenced in yard for our two dogs to safely play and lounge in the sun. BBQ grill & outdoor seating for your family meals. Hammock & porch swings add to the whole peaceful outdoor living space. Will definitely be returning to this lovely vacation home!
