Boutique Apartment - Walk to Westport, Plaza, Restaurants & Streetcar!

Originally built in 1900, this charming apartment has been carefully restored to showcase its historic bones. Whitewashed walls highlight high, beamed ceilings, while the decor fuses antique and modern pieces with eclectic art. This Midtown getaway is a happy, refreshing and beautiful escape from the ordinary hotel. Tall ceilings, fun touches and a clean palette create an inviting space for you to come home to. If you're here for work - there's a desk in the second bedroom for your use.

This is a second floor apartment - only accessible by stairs. You'll find a fully equipped kitchen to meet your cooking & entertaining needs. Coffee, sugar & creamer are provided (or Starbucks is just 2 blocks away). Access your own TV apps through the Roku Smart TV. Fiber Internet available - the fastest in town.

One of my favorite things about Kansas City are its old glorious buildings - which is why I fell in love with this 1900 Victorian charmer. This home has seen a lot in it's 100+ years, including being converted into 4 separate apartments.

▪ Dogs that don't bark are welcome. We must be respectful of the neighbors so barkers are not a good fit. Pet fees apply. You must mention your pet in advance of booking.
▪ While quiet hours start at 10pm, normal noise courtesy is expected at all hours. This is a group of 4 apartments where some noise does travel.
▪ No parties & large gatherings.
▪ No LOCALS without GREAT reviews.
▪ Kansas City has imposed a $3 per night tax (shows up as an Admin Fee).

This was an extremely convenient and perfectly cute spot! We were in town for 5 days and had everything we needed. This apartment is in a larger house with additional units. There was plenty of parking and folks were nice. The decor is very cute and the kitchen is well stocked. The beds were comfy and the water pressure in the shower was great. All in all, would definitely stay here again!

The house was quite cool. Easy directions to get in. There aren’t really railings up the stairs to the apartment - which was a little nerve wrecking with a child, and carrying luggage up. The apartment itself was very clean, and furniture was comfortable. We found the shared walls are quite thin. Specifically the ceiling/floor were not well sound proofed. In the evening, the sound of the upstairs tenant walking around was quite loud. Then loud again in early morning when they got home from a night out. Highly recommend sleeping with a sound machine to help block noise from other tenants. After a late night of hearing our upstairs neighbor walking around, we were quite stressed about our kiddo running around and playing in the apartment the next morning. Very aware of how well sound travels, we were nervous about disrupting the other neighbors. The apartment is listed to be family friendly and a 100 year old home. It’s important to note the steep stairs into the apartment with no railings, and lack of sound proofing between units. These would have been good things for us to have known ahead of time.

We loved staying here. The place was so cute and well maintained. It was easy to check in and communicate with the host throughout the entire process from booking to check out. If we ever come back to KC we would 100% stay here.

The location is perfect for sightseeing. We went to several of the museums and union station. Very quiet and peaceful. Jaymi (host) is very nice and great at communicating. Beds are very comfortable. Will stay again next time in KC.

Fantastic Apartment in Excellent Location

We have stayed in lots of places, including several in KC, and this place is something special. A funky place in a cool building, it's close to just about everything and a perfect home base for adventures around the city. Attentive hosts without being too much, I would highly recommend this place. My teenager was ready to move in.

Exactly as pictured!

Very nice apartment. It is a very old building so you should know you will be carrying you bags up stairs. Communication with the host was wonderful. My only negative was the outside of the home was not well kept.

A perfect hideaway for myself

The entire process from booking to checkout was quick and easy. The host goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is everything you need it to be. Respond pretty quickly, very kind and patient. It's a quiet neighborhood in the perfect location the apartment is fully stocked with everything you will need, it's organized to an t and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable m I don't think I moved once in my sleep. The decor is even better in person. Vrbo needs more host that care just as much as her. It was so amazinglu perfect! I plan on staying again longer then a night next time! I would personally rent this and sign a lease if possible.

Cute and cozy KC apartment

This apartment was a great place to stay in KC! The host was super helpful (providing a long list of things to do/places to eat) and responsive to questions, and the apartment was clean, roomy, and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen (lots of cooking supplies). The location was great--a short walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and the art museum. If I find myself in KC again, I will absolutely try to stay here! Excellent host and property!

Jaymie was so sweet and accommodating!! It was a perfect quiet little spot for my mom and I to spend a mother/daughter weekend!! The apartment was ready early and we were able to check in early, which she did not have to do!! Will definitely be staying here again!!

The journey life takes us on can truly be wonderful. After years traveling the world - both through Peace Corps, living in Nicaragua for 2 years and later creating educational children's activities on Carnival Cruise Line on 26 ships over 3 years - life eventually brought me to Kansas City. I've been here for over 15 years now and it's the perfect mid-sized city for me.

My hosting story starts 10 years ago when the gal in the apartment below me moved out. I had recently finished renovating & designing my 3rd floor midcentury space & I thought - I need to renovate that one next! And so I did - which is this apartment with the green couch :) I LOVE good design. I LOVE creating eclectic spaces people want to be in. I've flipped a few houses to do just that, and ultimately that lead me to creating Fountain City Stays where I now manage several apartments & homes in Kansas City as well as Branson.

I love all things design, good food and great fun! I'll be sure to send you my favorites when you book! And even if you decide to stay somewhere else - I'd be happy to share my list of recommendations with you :)

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Southmoreland is such a great neighborhood - I love living here & hosting here! I walk to the Nelson-Atkins museum most mornings & sometimes over to the beautiful Kauffmann Gardens. Southmoreland is centrally located & walking distance to great restaurants, Westport (10 min), the Plaza (20 min walk or 5 min drive), the new Streetcar is 3 blocks away (Oct 2025)! There's a school soccer field across the street; people walking their dogs; people working on their homes & lawns. You can't beat the neighborhood vibe combined with the convenience of walkability.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Built in 1900, this charming Victorian Home was converted to apartments & has been thoughtfully renovated to showcase its historic bones. I wanted this space to feel fresh & bright. I removed the kitchen wall so it could feel open & allow the full area to function as one space. She has some quirks - as any 100+ year old space would ...but to me that's part of the charm :) Hope you agree!
