The Space:

Tailored to families, First Tracks CB (Whetstone Building) is a 3+ bedroom/2 bath, slope side Ski-in/Ski-out condo that sleeps 8. This condo is directly above Crested Butte’s ski school (called Camp CB) and a snowball’s throw from the resort's main high speed lifts (Silver Queen and Red Lady).

The unit is on the 2nd floor of the Whetstone building and upon walking in you'll discover a cozy living room with wood burning fireplace and large screen tv.  As part of this space you have a dining table that seats 6 with additional bar top seating.  The kitchen has granite countertops and is fully equipped kitchen for the chef in the family.  Also on the main floor is the primary bedroom with a king bed and a fully renovated bathroom with a walk in shower.  There is also a full sized washer/dryer across from the bathroom. There are also several decks to watch your skiers from or to just enjoy some Colorado sunshine.  



On the 2nd floor of the condo are 2 bedrooms one with a queen bed and the 2nd with 2 twins.  Between these bedrooms is another full sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo that has just been remodeled in late 2024.  There is also a rather large space that we call the "Loft Bunk Room" that has a bunk bed with a twin over twin, a couch and a smart TV.  Bring your tv apps with you and your accounts and watch tv to your hearts content!



As an end unit with private balcony and southern exposures, natural sunlight floods the living area and provides extraordinary unobstructed views of Mt. Crested Butte and surrounding peaks.



The schlep is over…no more dragging the family’s skis across parking lots, etc. to get kids on the mountain. Ski School drop off is 1 flight of stairs below with your private ski locker right outside your door. Drop the kids and hop on the Silver Queen lift in minutes!



Throughout the day, First Tracks CB’s on-slope location is a great base camp. With a full kitchen and dining area, drop in for a bite to avoid the lunch crowds (and long restaurant waits), or warm up with a quick cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace. For those taking a rest day or non-skiers, cozy up for a book or movie by the fireplace and watch your little ones take their first runs on the magic carpet directly outside.



After an epic day of some of Colorado’s best skiing, you are a few strides away from the resort base amenities: Restaurants, apres, spas and ski shops.



Vehicle access is as easy as it gets as the unit has 2 reserved parking spot on site in the same lot as ski school drop off.  AWD or 4WD is suggested to get into the parking lot.



For summer and fall activities, Crested Butte’s renowned mountain biking, kids adventure center and ropes course begins right outside the door.

All of our kitchens are fully stocked with pots, pans, cookware and utensils. While most properties have salt, pepper, and basic cooking pantry items, we do not guarantee these will be available upon arrival.

Private ski storage closet at the top of the stairs stocked with a few sleds if the kids still have some energy left at the end of the day!

Guest Access:

Check-in instructions to include key codes will be sent to you 3 days prior to your arrival by email after 4 pm MST.



The Neighborhood:

This is truly at the base area. Walk out the door, down the stairs and you are at the Silver Queen. Walk up the slopes slightly to the retail shops. No car needed. Shuttle stop is maybe a 5 minute walk.



Getting Around:

You will want an AWD or 4WD vehicle in winter months if you rent a car or decide to drive. Easy to use free shuttle bus between the town of Crested Butte and Mt Crested Butte, so a vehicle is not absolutely necessary.
