Beautiful Ocean Views 5 Bedroom Sleeps 14 Walk to Beach, Pool, AC, & Game room

The "Akai Beach House" is a beautiful 5 bedroom 4 bath home that sleeps 14 with ocean views, a pool, air conditioning and a large game room in the garage. Enjoy ping pong and foosball, or relax on the couch and watch TV in the game room. Magic Sands Beach - the best sandy beach in Kona - is an easy 5 minute walk from home offering swimming, sunbathing, boogie boarding and beach volleyball. (Note: Magic Sands Beach gets it's name from the fact that if there are large storms/waves the sand may disappear from time to time and then comes back.) The home has two full kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs with two separate living rooms. It is like renting a full 3 bedroom and another full 2 bedroom house.
Perfect for multi-family and/or a multi-generational stay. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen and living room. Downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and living room. There is a washer/dryer both upstairs and downstairs. 4 bedrooms have spacious California King sized beds and one has a queen. Additionally, there are two double/queen sized futon couches in the upstairs living room. Further, we offer several padded cots for guests to use throughout the home. Great ocean views and sunsets from the upstairs living room, dining room, bedrooms and pool. Watch the sunset while lounging around the pool! Pool has a nice deck area with a bbq for family cookouts. Great snorkeling and surfing are only a half mile away at Kahaluu Bay, just south of our home. Vast shopping and dining options are only 2 miles away at downtown Kailua-Kona to the North and 1.5 miles from the Keauhou Shopping center to the South. Accordingly, you can quickly access grocery stores and places to eat. You also can walk to Magics Grill (at Magic Sands Beach) for cocktails and dinner, with amazing ocean views. The house has ample parking and is located on a quiet street. We have plenty of beach toys such as boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and a wagon etc... for guests to enjoy. The house was remodeled in October 2022 with new flooring, AC, interior paint and many new furnishings.

The location was awesome! We loved the pool and my kids loved playing in the game room. It was so nice that they had lots of boogie boards, beach toys, beach chairs, and snorkels available for use!

We loved the location - We were fairly centralized for all the activities we did that were close to the house. We had 3 couples and 2 adult children and we had enough bedrooms for everyone. It was nice to have the two kitchens - upstairs and downstairs. If anything, we only wished that it would have had access to the downstairs/upstairs inside vs. having to go out and up/down. Wonderful stay. Did also enjoy the view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets.

Wonderful stay! Ten adults stayed at the house for a race and it was the perfect space to come home to and relax in/by the pool. There was so many water toys (floats, water shoes, masks) that all of us were able to use and snorkel nearby! Recommend this house if you have a large group staying together!

It has been an easy check in process, Only thing was to figure out how to enter and lock the downstairs area, (acces through the gearge , code outside of it located), No keys were found- but good and quick respond of the owner- Lots of space, big rooms, comfortable beds.Pictures representing the house very good, no false promisses. This Proberty is in the tsunami evacuation zone( during our stay, the owner has been very kind with provide information due to the tsunami warning )Lots of reminders in the house about the courtesy quiet House :) walking distance - 10min down the hill to Magic Sand beach, Bus stations, Only down side the pool light did not work and it has been quiet dark after sunset- we have used the provided torches as a light on the table.

Family Vacation in Kona Hawaii

My family and I had a fabulous time in this beautiful vacation home. It was spacious, well furnished & had everything there that we needed to have a wonderful time. The fact that there was a living room, kitchen, laundry room, bedrooms and bathrooms on both the upper and lower level was very helpful. It provided space for both of our adult sons and their families and also my husband & I. We loved the location with a short walk to the beach and short drive to restaurant and shopping areas. Our kids and grandkids spent a lot of time in the lower level recreation room and especially enjoyed playing table tennis. We appreciated that the house was well supplied with bathroom toiletries, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent and paper products. The large dining table and area was great as we could all eat together. If we ever come back to Hawaii island, I would try to rent this house again for sure!

Our 3 generation group of 8 throughly enjoyed our stay at the house. We made full use of the pool and game room. The kitchen was basic, but fully functional for vacation mode meals. Lots of room at the dining room table for everyone to eat together. We all enjoyed watching the sunsets from the balcony on nights we were home - really beautiful. The information left by the hosts was thorough and very helpful. We ended up making our bookings based on their recommendations and were thankful that we did. This is a great house for large groups.

Beautiful stay

The property and views were beautiful. The property was able to accommodate all 10 family members without issue. The owners sent very helpful information and were quick to respond.

Great location and lots of space

The house was in a nice spot and was clean. It is very important to know that only one master suite is upstairs and the other master suites are downstairs. You have to walk through the garage into the bottom half of the house (or through the pool area). When doing so, you walk into the first master bedroom - so this is a throughway of sorts.

Great Stay

House was great for family of 12. Very clean, spacious rooms, nice to have two kitchens. The layout was a little awkward at first with both downstairs bedrooms having attached bathrooms and the two teens sleeping in cots had to go into the others’ bedrooms for the bathroom or walk up the outside stairs to get to the one upper floor general bathroom (there is also a bathroom in the upstairs primary bedroom). Once we figured it out we made it work. The kitchen and outside tables both sat all 12 of us which was nice. The house is very well equipped with lots of laundry detergent, dishwasher tabs, dish soap, paper towels and toilet paper. Lots of towels too. A couple minor issues were responded to quickly. Great location - close walk to the beach and tons of beach supplies in the garage including water shoes and lots of snorkeling stuff. There were no games as described in the ad - only puzzles. We ended up buying a game at a thrift store and left it there for others to enjoy. A great stay overall!

Spectacular 70th bday family Vacation

Jeff,Thank you for making your Akai home.PROS:• The write up you provided in advance of the rental was great. It helped set expectations, shared valuable info about the property, nearby activities, stores, restaurants, etc. It also made clear what we needed to do pre-checkout.• We LOVED the proximity to the beach. We enjoyed daily excursions to the beach and watching melting sunsets. • Kitchen provisions were excellent once we addressed the absence of pans. We never really wanted for a pot, utensil, plateware, or flatware. • The pool was delightful. • Having an abundance of beach towels handy was also a nice touch. It helped keep little ones warm whenever they came out of the water.• For those of us that snorkel, having snorkel equipment available to use was terrific. We couldn’t justify packing it in our luggage.The beach chairs were great, as well as the assortment of boogie boards.• The high chair and cots, and porta crib were incredibly handy. We also noted but did not need the small inventory of diapers in the upstairs laundry room. Again nice touch.Loved every moment of our 8 night stay.

Family Vacation

Great place for groups

We had a few different generations in one stay and it was great. Everyone has their own space, great accommodations, and beautiful views. Highly recommend.

Excellent Home, Perfect place

This place is just fabulous. What you see is what you get! The home is beautiful and perfectly located. This home is a steal of a deal excellent bedding honestly if feels like you’re home. I did not have to reach out not once upon arrival it was nothing but peace joy and tranquility from start to finish. If we go back to Kona I know where I’m staying.

We picked this house because you can walk to Magic Sands Beach. We are often at the beach playing volleyball in the afternoons. We also loved the view and how quiet the neighborhood is.
