If you’re looking for a break, at any time of the year, we’d like to think we have the perfect spot in mind for you.
Why pay hotel rates, and be subject to their restrictions, when you can rent a place that’s all yours for the duration of your stay?
Port Charlotte, Florida could be that place for you. Sat on the SW Gulf Coast, within easy reach of all that Florida has to offer, it makes a great home base for a Florida vacation.
At only $125 a night, you can afford to splurge and go to Miami for a couple of nights, while leaving your luggage behind in the house. Although, at only three hours away, it makes an enjoyable day trip, too. Taking you down through the Everglades, and giving you the opportunity to take a ride through Alligator Alley, where you are quite likely to spot a gator, or 3 or 4.
Orlando is just 103 miles away, up the highway. Once again, it’s within easy reach for you to take a fun side trip. Leave your heavy bags behind and just take what you need to enjoy a relaxing break. All the better to make the most of adventures in your theme park or parks of choice!
If you’re visiting from overseas, maybe you would enjoy stopping in a theme park on either end of your trip, and then moving down to enjoy the calming relaxation of Port Charlotte and the gulf coast, giving you a break from the hustle and bustle of Orlando.
Tampa airport and Busch Gardens are a straight shot, at only 90 minutes away.
Got pets at home? Why leave them there? Dogs, cats, ferrets, gerbils….. we love and welcome them all! There’s even a great doggie beach in Venice, just 20 minutes away, where you can spend a happy day sunbathing and playing with your pooch, or pooches, in the sea and sand!
Should you get tired of playing or relaxing in the sun, there’s a huge outlet mall near Fort Myers, with stores to suit almost any taste and need, and you can also visit Fisherman’s Village, where you can watch seabirds, while eating lunch. Or take a harbor cruise and enjoy watching dolphins play.
Things are often booked well ahead for the Florida Season (from January through May) however, right now, we have availability for 2026 from March 15th onwards. March and April are really good months to be spending in Florida. The weather is usually perfect. So now is a good time to stop pondering your next vacation and start booking it! If you wait too long - it could be gone!
Florida is also fun ‘off season’. Once again, if you’re coming from overseas, there are some new airlines around, offering some tempting fares. Things are always changing, so it’s worth keeping an eye open and looking around. Might be worth giving in to temptation.
Virgin Atlantic offers flights into Tampa, and also Miami and OrLando.
The house is a three bedroom, two bath. One of the bedrooms is set aside as office space, with a desk to use your laptop at, should work suddenly intrude, or some serious internet browsing beckon, the room is equipped with a futon. The house comfortably sleeps four, and whichever of your furry family members may accompany you. ( pet size no problem - we love them all, big or small!) there’s a light, airy living area and a screened lanai, plus a washer and dryer.
We look forward to having you as our guests!
