Go for a walk on the 3.5 acre property that this home is sitting on and the best part is that its only 20 minutes away from South Padre Island, SpaceX, and Lake Atascosa. With just a short drive to Laguna Vista were you can enjoy different eateries and shopping.

Our family had a great time! We loved that the kitchen was stocked up with utensils and pans. The bunk beds were a big bonus to fit everyone comfortably. Washer and dryer was a plus! Bring bottle waters and bug spray. Great private fishing dock! Use hotdogs for bait. Walmart and HEB groceries are 15 minutes away by S. Padre.

Wonderful little cottage on the water!

We loved our stay. Beautiful home, very clean, with the large deck extending over the water. Caught catfish using shrimp bait! Nice views, big yard to explore with citrus trees, and super-clear starry night sky. So nice that we didnt want to leave!

Comfortable but needs maintenance

The property needed some maintenance on the deck especially...I tripped several times.No wash cloths in bathroom or dish rags/towels were in the kitchen.It's a nice small "lake house" type place. I rated it a 3 for good because according to the pictures I was expecting it to be nicer.Beds were comfortable.

Awesome cottage home with a big fishing deck right on the water!

We have stayed at this home twice, and will return again! It is clean, beautiful fishing deck and huge yard, and only 20 minutes to the beach. Privacy in a beautiful neighborhood. I caught catfish using shrimp for bait, so don't forget your fishing gear! Cesar is a great host, and answers all inquiries immediately. Looking forward to our next stay!

The location is great. The views from the deck are awesome. The host was very responsive and had a water issue resolved within 15 minutes. The issue is the accommodations. It wasn’t clean—lots of dead “insects”. The kitchen is not well stocked. Lighting was lacking as none of the lamps in the bedroom worked and figuring out the fan lighting was a bit of a challenge. The bathroom shower handle was difficult to turn. We were afraid if we turned it, it would snap off. We have rented unit A and found those accommodations very clean and well stocked with everything in working order. We understand that unit C is more rustic but at a minimum, it should have been clean and things should have been in working order. Nonetheless, I will give the host the benefit of the doubt. For example, perhaps the insects were due to the place not being rented in awhile, so perchance at one point, it had been cleaned. Also, the unit does jut out so it is much closer to the water which may invite more critters. Again, the host is very responsive.

It’s all about the fishing deck!

So I’ll start off by saying that I really wanted to give this a 5 star just based off of the fishing deck, but there were a lot of small things that I just couldn’t. The deck was awesome we caught a bunch of little channel cat had 7 guest (2 adults and 5 children) staying 5 days 4 nights. They gave us 5 bath towels, 3 trash bags, no laundry soap, 1 roll of paper towels, and no oven mitts or dish towels for a kitchen with no dishwasher.

Short Trip

First thing when we arrived, there were dead and alive roaches everywhere. The wifi was not working until the next day, when I was able to reconnect it. Also, the place smelled of pest removal. At night, I heard something crawling above the attic, like critters or something and it kept me up all night. I made sure to let the property manager know as well. I was not happy with my stay. The view was nice, but don't let the pictures on the website decieve you. I won't be staying again at this location.

Deck for fishing made it worth the stay

We were looking for a location closest to south padre island without paying astronomical prices, this was the best we could find. My husband LOVES to fish so this was a great place for him. However, the lighting outside is terrible. Only the deck has good lighting, everything else has zero lighting. We all at some point tripped or stubbed our feet with deck or steps. Boards on the deck are not in great condition. The bbq pit is on a small patio with no lighting whatsoever, which is why we missed a small faded sign at the top of a window “don’t put pit on deck”. Our bad. As for the rest of the house, it was ample space. It’s an older house with paint slapped on. Beds were comfortable enough. Good place if you’re looking for seclusion.
