East Torch Lake cottage with beautiful sunsets!

Our Cottage is situated on 206' frontage on the East side of Torch Lake. Our home is situated in a quite area, framed by mature trees. The back of the home has beautiful views of the lake, with private lake access and deck overlooking the water. The sunsets are breathtaking! The way the winds blow, there are very few mosquitoes in the summer. The water is so clear you can see the bottom of the lake. Enjoy barbequing, making s'mores in the firepit, or an evening swim in the calm waters.

Family vacation and boating

Great place, beautiful view, close to Bellaire. A/C needs upgrade. Kitchen is great and well furnished with everything needed. Road in to the house is very narrow.

We enjoyed our week @ TL immensely. The cottage has a superb location--steps to the beach, close to Belleaire and Charlevoix, and other favorite places. There were 5 of us--the smaller bathroom shower was cramped but noted in the original description of the property.

July 13-20 Stay on East Torch Lake

Our week was very pleasant and the house suited our needs adequately. Love the large lot and access to dock and beach with minimal steps. The dehumidifier was extremely loud and its location diminished the peacefulness of the interior of the house. One of the room fans was broken. Generally a great place to stay.

Beautiful cabin and fantastic waterfront!

We have been coming to Torch Lake for many many years and this was by far our favorite property! The home was clean and spacious. My husband and 6 kids and I all had plenty of room and we truly enjoyed our stay. The property owner was lovely and responsive although we had need for nothing during our stay. We can’t wait to come back!

Another great stay.

We stayed at this house in 2019 and had a great time. It's a great location and on the best stretch of the lake in my opinion and has everything you need. Since our stay several years ago, there have been some nice upgrade to the place - most notably the mattresses. Thanks for offering your place to stay! We will be back again in the future.

Great location with plenty of space for 2 families.

Property was in a great location with plenty of space. Owner was great to work with and very responsive. Had all the necessary amenities. Outdoor space was excellent. Indoor space was good. Plenty of seating in dining and living room. Overall a great place where great memories were made. A couple things that some people may want to know: one of the two showers is tiny. The mattresses could use replacement, or at least a topper. A/C is only available in the master bedroom, leaving two bedrooms with none. Typically this isn't an issue on Torch but we were there during an exceptionally warm week. Recommend visiting Shorts Brewery in Bellaire (white pepper sandwich is best ever). Also try Butch's fried chicken. You wouldn't think a convenient/bait store would specialize in fried chicken, but it's great!

Very clean and inviting cottage

A very cute and comfortable cottage. Everything you need is there. Postings kept saying it's tight if you have a boat, etc.getting through the road and into the driveway but we found it just fine, no problems. It was a nice and hot week, the 2 air conditionings were plenty. Would recommend this cute cottage/house to anyone!!

Beautiful House with a Extraordinary View of Torch Lake

My family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation stay at this house. We loved the screened in porch with the beautiful view of Torch Lake, the fire pit(enjoyed our s'mores), the hammock(very relaxing), the overlook deck with the picnic table. Also, loved all the back windows of the house- so we could always see beautiful Torch Lake. We did not have any problems with it being noisy during our stay. I do like that the house is located far from the road. We've been renting several houses on Torch Lake for many years, and we all agree that this house is definitely one of our favorites. The house was also very clean. My only complaint is that the beds were not real comfortable. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend this house.

Wonderful Location On Torch Lake

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your house on Torch Lake, MI in August 2016. This is the first time we've rented on the eastern shore of the lake, and it will not be the last...the sunsets were incredible!! The house was in a terrific location, close to Alden (Dockside and Dewitt's Marina) and Bellaire (groceries and Short's Brewery), very comfortable for our family of six adults, was very clean and met all of our needs. The mooring ball was perfect for our boat, providing quick and easy access to the lake for boating and swimming the day away. The communication from the owners was terrific...from our initial questions to getting us the information we needed right before our vacation. Only a couple of minor issues/concerns to be aware of...the exterior of the house is "tired". It could use a paint job and the lawnscaping could use some TLC. The shower in the main bathroom by the bedrooms...the pan felt (to those who used it) very mushy, like the floor below the pan had some water damage. The second shower in the other bathroom is not meant for 6'4'' guys, but we made it work. Other than that, we would not hesitate to suggest this property to friends, and we may just reserve the house for the same time in 2017.

Amazing

We stayed a full week at this home and it was absolutely amazing! We were right in the lake and enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night. The water is so clear and blue! The home was great, had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again next year. The wooded setting was also great. We went for walks in the woods no it was so quiet at night. Loved every minute!

Beautiful View of Torch Lake

We really enjoyed our week long vacation to this property right on Torch Lake! It is an older model lake cottage but it has what any family would need to have an enjoyable time. I like to make reviews with information I would find useful if I were searching for a family vacation rental so these are things of note: - If you have a boat and plan to arrive to the property first before launching your boat, don't. Launch your boat first! This property is located off a long, very narrow dirt drive with a lot of winding curves which makes it nearly impossible to maneuver a boat with trailer, especially if you have a long truck bed to begin with. - Bring your own drinking water. We live in Michigan and can drink from our faucet...not the case at this lake cottage. The water has a very strong mineral smell and taste. - I know the owner says to bring water shoes in the welcome information, and that is because you really do need them! The water is amazingly clear and blue, but at this particular location the bottom is very rocky and without water shoes you could get hurt. - There is a mooring auger to tie your boat to which is fine and didn't' bother us but it's something to keep in mind. You have to load and unload at the dock while someone holds the boat. Someone then must stay in the water to walk the boat to the auger and tie it up. - The property manager was there the first day of our arrival to answer any questions we had and also cut up plenty of fire wood for the fire pit which we really appreciated. - The closest grocery store is about 10 minutes away and has all you would need. - A boat drive down to the famous torch lake sandbar takes approximately 30 minutes from this property. - There is a charcoal grill on hand. - I packed tons of extra bedding because I wasn't sure what was on-hand. Not necessary. There is plenty of pillows, sheets and blankets. - Bring your own beach towels, but there are plenty of bath towels. - I like that there were other little items someone might forget to bring, like band-aids, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, kids coloring books and crayons, and board games. - We LOVED the screened in porch and raised outdoor deck right over the water with lot's of seating. Over all this was a GREAT stay and our family had a fabulous time here!

What a great place.

We loved our time here. We have been renting on Torch since 2006 and this was our favorite place. Great location...convenient to Bellaire and Central Lake. The lot is amazingly large so your insulated somewhat from neighbors which is not common on Torch. The house is great, perfect layout, tons of windows including two huge picture windows looking onto the lake, a wonderful breezy screened in porch, nice functional kitchen. The waterfront is excellent, rocky first 20 feet is just part of the deal on Torch. Great deck overlooking the lake. A Couple minor quibbles, house could use a paint job and the dock could use a ladder at the end. Other then that excellent.

So Peaceful and Pretty

Torch Lake is as pretty as everyone says it is! This cottage is right on the lake!!! The sunsets are beautiful. We brought our boat and enjoyed tubing, water skiing, fishing, and going to the famous sandbar. The cottage was clean when we arrived with plenty of bedding, room, and kitchenware. The cottage is cheerful and I especially enjoyed the screened in porch and the deck over the water. Thank you for a lovely time:). We hope to be back!!!

Great Torch Lake House!

We had a great vacation at this home! It's all about location and this one is on the water with great sunset views across Torch Lake! The home is pretty basic and original, but had everything we needed. The home is about 12 water miles north of the famous Sandbar and about 5 water miles north of Dockside Restaurant, on the same side of the lake. The town of Bellaire has everything you need and is about a 15 minute drive to the east. Every sunset was watched from the home's martini deck that is at the water's edge. Would definitely stay at this home again! The owners were friendly and had good communication with everything leading up to check-in...we never needed them for the week we were at the home, as everything with the property ran smoothly.
