There are several transportation options available on the island. While taxis are available, taxi rates on St. John can be costly depending on destination, luggage, and number of passengers. We strongly recommend reserving a rental vehicle for greater convenience and flexibility during your stay.
Please note the home is located on a hillside with a steep driveway, which is common on St. John. Some taxi drivers may choose to drop guests near the entrance rather than drive directly up to the home. Public transportation can also be limited and unreliable, and there are no direct bus routes to the beaches.
Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Superhog. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Superhog will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. 1. Guests and visitors should comply with the parking regulations and requirements and must show consideration for other vehicles in the driveway.
2. Check/In time is 4:00 p.m. and Check/Out time is 11:00 am.
3. No beach shoes inside the home.
4. No smoking inside the rental. Smoking is only permitted out on the balcony. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in the ashtray.
5. No parties or events.
6. No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed. The maximum property capacity is 10 people. Guest will be charged a fee for any additional guests.
7. Quiet time after 11 p.m.
8. No eating or drinking in bedrooms. Please enjoy your meal in the dining room or Kitchen area.
9. Please wash your dishes and dispose of the garbage in the trash bin.
10. No pets allowed.
11. Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and any electronics when you leave the house. Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the door.
12. Report any damages and/or breakages in a reasonably timely manner. Damages exceeding the security deposit amount must be paid by guests and will be reported to rental.
13. Please take care of the furnishings. Guest will have to pay for damages that exceed the security deposit.
14. Please don’t move or rearrange the furniture.
15. No illegal substances or activities are allowed on the premises.
16. No Exception To Check-In and Check-Out Times Unless Discussed With The Host In Advance.Any requests for a late check-out will be subject to approval and may incur a 25 feefor each additional hour beyond the designated check-out time. Please confirm any late check-out requests at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability
17. Keep a close eye on your kids while being on the balcony in the front and back of villa.

Our second time staying on St. John in recent years (visited '23 last) and Edward's condo was perfect for our family of 5! The living room and kitchen furnishings provided ample space and comfort, and the bedrooms were nicely decorated and had A/C. The location was ideal along Centerline, and the driveway was easily manageable with the Jeep (called Edward to find the property and he directed us). The view from the porch was incredible, and the back porch with rinse spigot made snorkel clean-up easy. Hurricane Erin caused rain and some power outages, but Edward kept the back-up generator running often to keep the basics on for us, and was very responsive over our 7-day stay. 10/10 gorgeous place and we would stay again!

Villa of thoughful owner
Lera, the owener, is thoughtful, kind and generaous. She gave us detailed direction and instructions on use of applicance ahead of time. As soon as we entered the villa, a welcome gift box was waiting for us (rum, bottled water, coffe, tea, and snacks). Beach chairs and cooler are available too. Edward, the property manager, is also helpful. He responded to our questions and request quickly. We encountered power outage due to thunderstorm a couple of times during our stay. Both Lera and Edward tried their best to help us to enjoy our vacation in St. John. We really appreicated!

The house itself was fine. Some small problems like there was no ice or ice maker - only empty trays in the freezer. One of the bedroom doors does not open all of the way. The area around the house was pretty trashy. And the taxi could not make it up the steep driveway so we had to walk some distance to the house from the road. A big problem for our guest with asthma. The cost for taxi's everywhere was pretty steep and not easy to secure. I would definitely rent a car next time.

As noted in our listing details, the villa is located on a hillside in St. John and a rental car is strongly recommended, as taxis on the island can be costly and availability can vary, especially during busy periods. We also provide guests with this information prior to arrival to help them plan accordingly.
Regarding the ice, we do provide ice trays rather than an ice maker, and we were happy to offer assistance with purchasing additional ice during your stay. We’re sorry to hear the driveway access was difficult for your taxi. Due to the steep hillside terrain that is common in St. John, some larger taxis may choose not to drive fully up certain driveways.
We appreciate you bringing the bedroom door issue to our attention and will have it checked. Thank you again for staying with us.
