Family Friendly Modern Cottage with Large Deck Steps From Beach

Our fully remodeled home has everything you need for a perfect beach getaway! Just a short walk across the street to a beautiful, serene, private beach. Spend your day sunbathing, swimming, fishing, and strolling up and down the beach. When you get tired of the sun, sand and views, go for a walk or bike ride around our friendly neighborhood. Lewes and Rehoboth are a short drive away, as are Dewey, Bethany and Ocean City, MD. Milton (10 min) has small town charm, restaurants, takeout, grocery store and even two breweries! (Dogfish Head and Dewey-Harbeson).

The main bedroom has a high quality king mattress with Boll and Branch sheets. The second bedroom has two new twin Wink mattresses with Boll and Branch sheets. There is a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room with a comfortable mattress. Sheets are provided for the sofa bed. There is a small side porch with sofa. New this year are sliding glass doors in each room that walk out to a huge screened in deck overlooking the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge! Nature lovers and bird watchers will be in heaven with plenty of comfortable seating and unlimited views of migratory birds and other wildlife. When the weather cooperates you can even sleep with the doors open letting the breeze and sounds of nature into the house!

Full kitchen includes all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots/pans, Ninja Foodie instant pot, coffee maker, toaster and Nutribullet blender, and a large refrigerator and freezer with automatic ice maker. There is a small side deck with sofa just off the kitchen to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or to hose off your sandy feet on the way back from the beach.

High speed internet and 55" Samsung SmartTV with Bose audio system.

Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided for guest use as well! PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT PROVIDE BEACH TOWELS OR DOG TOWELS.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PET FEE IS $100 PER DOG PER WEEK WITH A MAXIMUM OF 2 DOGS PER STAY. PLEASE INDICATE HOW MANY DOGS YOU WILL BE BRINGING WHEN YOU REQUEST TO BOOK. PETS MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO BOOKING.

High season- Memorial Day- Labor Day is a 7 night minimum with check in and check out on Saturday.

Beautiful & convenient beach stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location was very private and super close to the beach (basically had the beach to ourselves everyday). The location is in a nature preserve area so there are bugs but overall it wasn’t too bad and we loved being off the beaten path. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Very Nice Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the charming beach cottage at Primehook. Its in a great location, close to a scenic bay. We are animal lovers and enjoyed watching the abundance of wildlife nearby. The only thing that was not so nice are the bugs but they were not around the whole trip. It was a worthwhile stay and the house met our expectations.

Excellent Beach Cottage!

The cottage was exactly described in the listing - very clean and well maintained. The screened-in porch is an absolutely fantastic amenity and faces the wildlife refuge. The property is a very short walk to the beach. We've been to Prime Hook several times and it is a perfect destination for a relaxing getaway. We definitely recommend this property!

Peaceful cottage by the ocean

My daughter and I throughly enjoyed our stay. The house was well-cared for, clean and comfortable. The screened in deck off the deck was our favorite place to relax, listen to the birds and watch the sunset over the marsh. We walked across the street to the beach access and saw lots of horseshoe crabs and even spotted two bald eagles one morning perched on a piece of driftwood in the inlet. We went into the town of Lewes for dinner both evenings and loved the quaint feel. The beds were comfortable and both slept well. The communication with our host was excellent and they were very friendly and attentive. I would book again for our next visit to the area. Thank you!

Peacefully easy feeling

Very comfy, clean and easy house- has practically everything one needs in a rental house- terrific views from porch - water peeks from dining room - our two older pups adjusted very well- king mattress extremely comfy- amazing view from bed- quick walk to 2 beach accesses- we hope to be back a few times before we finish building our ownhome here!

My Favorite Place

This was my favorite VRBO location hands down! We love being by the bay, but absolutely loved being by the marshlands watching native birds (snowgeese) and just watching the sunsets with our dogs Chase and Dexter. It was simply beautiful and perfect and very clean. Daniella was great and answered any questions we had promptly. We will be back!

Lovely beach house

A lovely, clean beach house, with bed and bathroom linens conveniently provided. Lovely views of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. Happily, little problem with insects. A good place for folks who would prefer to be away from beach hustle and noise.

Beautiful Property

Cute Cottage

The cottage was very cute and well-stocked. Loved being in the quiet area of Prime hook. Everything was between 20 to 30 minutes away. The beach was vast and a really good place for younger children who can’t handle big waves. Daniella was very responsive and went above and beyond to accommodate us. What a nice trip!

Great stay all around

Property was just as pictured, well maintained and very clean. The nearby bay beach was nice for evening walks and sunbathing, if not for swimming. Rear porch was great. For a familiar 3 this was perfect.

Lovely beach getaway!

I had a lovely ladies weekend away with friends from college. The house was beautiful. The location was perfect for quiet walks on the beach, morning and evening chats on the screened in porch, and close enough to nearby towns for shopping and dining. We’re hoping to organize another trip soon!

Great beach rental

This is a wonderful place to stay. The house is renovated and has a beautiful back porch over looking the marshes. If you like birds, you can see amazing birds including herons and bald eagles from the surrounding preserves. And Daniella is a very good host. Would highly recommend.

Second visit here! Still in love!

Beautiful cottage and amazing private beach. The owners are fantastic and they are in communication with you immediately if you need anything. This is our third trip to Primehook Beach and the second in a row at this cottage. The location is perfect and it’s pet friendly…there just isn’t enough to compliment staying here. We look forward to visiting again!

House overlooks beautiful wildlife refuge

The views overlooking the wildlife refuge from the house are beautiful. Nice kitchen and bedrooms and a side deck . The one problem we had was the little flies on the porch that came in through some small holes in the screens. We tried to eat on the porch and they were a problem. We solved the problem by plugging the holes with some tissue and then sprayed the screening with some Skeeter-Nip Mosquito repellent which did the trick for us. The flies escape into the house from the screened porch when you open the doors as well. The beach is nice, but you do not have an access right across the street. You have to walk down the street which was no problem for us. We enjoyed the birds; dark eyed junco, red bellied woodpeckers,carolina wrens, northern mockingbirds,yellow rumped warblers,white throated,swamp and song sparrows, and the Canada geese. Some of the beach birds were herring, gr and lesser black back gulls, black and surf scoters,cormorants...

Our house is a perfect size for a small group or family. It is our home so we have outfitted it with high quality amenities including soft sheets, good pillows and nice towels. We want you to be comfortable and happy during your stay. Wifi internet is available and we have a flat screen tv on which you can access your Netflix, Amazon prime, Hulu or Apple TV. Enjoy the sunset over the wildlife preserve on our huge screened in deck, have a bonfire on the beach or prepare a dinner in our fully stocked kitchen.

Prime Hook Beach is a private, sandy beach close to Lewes and Rehoboth. It is a quiet neighborhood where you might see folks driving up and down Shore Drive in a golf cart, folks walking their dogs and people hanging out having drinks on their decks.
