I would NOT recommend this house in its current condition. We expected a quirky mountain house, and it delivered. It was clean and comfortable, but there were several things that need to be addressed. Communications need to be improved. The owners were either slow to respond or did not respond at all. The accuracy of the listing was poor. The listing shows parking and garage. In fact, the garage is the “game room”. So, no garage. It shows a fireplace and woodburning stove. The fireplace doesn’t work (which the owners knew) and the stove is on the deck outside so useless for heating the house. The electronic lock to the game room had a dead battery so we could not access it. The owners said they’d have someone out to fix it but it did not happen while we were there. One of the biggest issues is the upstairs shower. While we kept the curtain in the tub, you had to create a gap in the curtain in order to access the wall mounted soap dispenser. By doing that, the water leaks onto the floor and found the large hole in the ceiling, which looks like it is moldy or rotted or both, and dripped onto the living room floor. Don’t use the shower. There are only 5 seats in the living room. Several items did not work or were missing. The owners would benefit by experiencing the house from the POV of a renter.

The location was accommodating to us vacationers who needed to grab groceries and last-minute items (10 minutes away from the nearest Walmart and gas station). The mountain views were stunning, but there were a couple of grown trees we had to contend with to see them. The Hot tub was conveniently close and very clean! The game room is further away, down another flight of stairs, so we didn't utilize it as much as I thought we would, though it would be a great idea for younger kids/teens with a lot of energy to burn. This is a great place to stay to rest your head for the night. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, which was appreciated after a full day of hiking. We enjoyed evenings playing cards in the covered porch, too! The owner was responsive when we had questions or concerns, as well. I had to provide some feedback regarding the cleaning of the rental, so make sure you check EVERYTHING if offered 1-hour to inspect after check-in or go elsewhere (especially behind bed pillows and in less obvious areas of the home).

This house was very quaint and comfortable. My three children and husband loved our 3 night stay here and would definitely come back again. Directions, assistance and communication was simple, clear and quick. Owners were kind and gracious and keep this place a fun and truly enjoyable stay for anyone.

We loved this charming home tucked in the mountains! It had everything we needed. We were all able to do stairs ok which is a must both inside and outside when staying here. The location was great as we were close to so many fun things to do!! Communication with the host was great. The outside grounds needed a few more solar lights on the front and back stairs to help light things up. We loved having the hot tub! We would recommend this property to others as long as they have no issues using stairs :) Such a fun stay!

Relaxing stay close to town

This is a super unique property. Big porch and Arizona room. The views from the porch were amazing. The process and everything was great. Super cute park very close by. Loves everything about. Would definitely recommend.

Great Experience

Our family of 5 plus sister in law stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. Loved it!House is very cozy and plenty to do even with a park for the kids in walking distance near by.Great restaurants close and Santas North Pole just 4 min away by car.Don’t let the drive way…drive you away. There is another parking spot up at the top. The stay and the area is worth it.If you are visiting in winter time, snow chains just in case. We did it with a front wheel drive and made it safely…had snow chains just in case.We hope to come back again!

Parking Sucks, still a good stay

Pics are accurate, owners communication was great and stay was good. Neighborhood was great, views were great. Parking is terrible. Driveway is so steep you can’t park there. You actually have to drive to the back of the house to park one car. This IS COMMUNICATED by owners but not until after you’ve booked. Little Sus. In my opinion. Still a 4 out of 5 stars.

Nice old house

Other than the hot tub not working well on a few lights not working it was a very nice place to stay. Got to meet the owner because we were out of LP for the grill. He was Johnny on the spot and had a new tank installed in no time. Very nice place for the money and the owners are Awesome! Thanks for the week!

Charming, fun and comfortable

The property is charming and has everything that we needed to have a nice relaxing family weekend. The teenagers really enjoyed the game room and the hot tub. Hanging around watching television was comfortable. The house is very clean and lovely. The driveways and tiny roads leading to the property are a little bit tricky. General location of the property is a very nice spot because you can get to many things from it. We really appreciated the little touches that made it a comfortable place to stay. The beds were very comfortable!

Charming Hillside Cabin

This was the best VRBO experience I've had. The cabin provided everything we needed and wanted for our trip, and things were easy to locate. The host was also so kind and responsive. I appreciated that the host privided necessities! The porch was a perfect place for morning coffee!

Great location and space

Our family of five enjoyed our time. The enclosed hot tub was really nice and one night we had a fire in the wood burning stove. There was plenty of space and the extra game room was a bonus.

We love starting the day with coffee and mountain views, and ending it with fresh air and good memories. Hosting gives us the chance to share that same peace with others who enjoy hiking, exploring, and bringing their pets along for the adventure.

This vintage mountain home provides an experience unlike other vacation home that you will stay in. This home was built in 1905 showing off the original trim around the door frames that provides a unique touch to the home's character. The original smaller staircase has been untouched to ensure to put you back in time. Most of the doors in the home have been numbered. We have no idea why. So we left them on there. The doors on the inside of the house will not lock however, they are all original. Because of the stucco added to the home this house heats up very quickly and stays warm, in the summer make sure you open some windows to breath in the cool mountain air.

*Pets are allowed! We have updated out house rules to allow pets! There is a small mud room leading to doggie door and dog area fenced in outside. Only a few hundred feet away you can walk to the Community park. From there it will connect you to the Heizer trail for a great hike. You can also walk to Wines of Colorado. Enjoy a glass of Colorado wine and a great meal by the creek. Not too far from Green Mountain Falls which boasts a great park with a pond, lots of hiking trails, and a couple great restaurants.

A short walk from the driveway you can visit the Holy Rosary Chapel. "This charming stone church, built by the Cusack family in 1930, resembles a medieval chapel sitting atop a European village."

For family with kids, head West on Pikes Peak Highway for 3 minutes and entertain them by going to the North Pole! A theme park based all around Christmas open all year around with lots of rides and don't forget to meet Santa Clause early and show your kids that Santa is ALWAYS watching.

Heading up West on 24 will take you to Woodland Park. Enjoy all that this mountain town has to offer from Restaurants, shops, parks, and the Dinosaur Museum.

Heading East on 24 will take you Manitou Springs where you can find countless trails that can either take you to the top of Pikes Peak or you can explore downtown Manitou. The shops and restaurants will not disappoint. You may even want to experience the famous Manitou Incline. It gains over 2,000 feet of elevation in less than a mile. The view from the top is worth the 2,744 steps.

9 minutes away is the Red Rocks Open Space. A city preserve with marked walking & biking trails, as well as scenic views of red-rock formations.

Only 17 minutes East off of 24 you will find Garden of the Gods and admire the 300′ sandstone rock formations against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies.
