Location, location, location!
Maikel the host was very communicative before and during our stay. He let us store our luggage in the flat at noon even though check in wasn’t until 4, making it much more convenient for us. To note, the flat is on the third floor and you must carry your luggage up a relatively narrow staircase. I say this because it was difficult for some of us with big/bulky bags. Maikel also provided us with a list of cafes, bakeries, sites and so much more prior to our visit which was so helpful. We traveled with our two teens (boy and girl), so we needed to use the pull out sofa as a bed. My son said it was very comfortable. We did have trouble working the washer/dryer combo. Never were able to dry our clothes, but it may have been user error. I was nervous about noise, since the flat overlooks Rue Mouffetard (a bustling street), but once the windows were closed, the noise was blocked out. My teens loved sitting by the windows that overlooked the street to people watch, at night. I wasn’t sure about the area when we first arrived-again very busy. But, we loved it. Close to cafes, bread, cheese, coffee, wine and pastry shops. Many amazing restaurants were also in the Latin Quarter, too many to choose from. We found it to be a safe area. I walked around alone in the early mornings without issue; we walked back from Le Marais one evening at 11 and had no issues. Overall, great experience and we highly recommend this rental.
