Ubicada en una isla privada a las puertas del Colleton River Club *, esta casa de campo se encuentra en uno de los sitios más bonitos y únicos del área de Hilton Head. El 'Diablo Codo Cottage' se encuentra entre los antiguos robles con vistas a las marismas y las aguas del Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge.

My husband and I have been coming here for 4 years, we come here to just enjoy the quietness and tranquility. We do some fishing off the dock, we have seen dolphins swim by, caught a few shark, saw armadillo, deer, crocodile. Great trip! Owners, Peter and Leisa great! Thanks for sharing!

Peaceful & Charming

We had a wonderful stay at Peter's charming cottage! We especially loved the views from the large windows, the spacious screened in porch and sunsets on the dock. This is truly a peaceful & secluded retreat. The cottage matched the description perfectly and was conveniently located just a short drive from shops, restaurants, and the beach. Peter was very responsive and shared great recommendations for exploring the surrounding areas. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’d definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a serene getaway!

Golf getaway

Low country perfection

I’d prefer to keep this little piece of paradise a secret, but it certainly deserves a 10/10 review. The cottage is spotless, well-equipped, very comfortable. You’ll feel instantly at home. The serene surroundings will transport you back in time. Don’t come here to party loudly or spend hours attached to a digital device (although wifi is available). Lazing with coffee/wine on the porch is pure bliss. Quiet perfection. Glorious restaurants nearby, the KINDEST host on this planet, luxury bedding, stunning views. Not to mention - PAINTED BUNTINGS (IYKYK)! Book it.

Unique and relaxing property

Loved being able to leave the rush behind and escape to this property! We used the provided cooler daily on our excursions and when we returned enjoyed quiet peaceful walks. Hosts were always prompt with replies to our questions. The screened porch was a favorite spot to listen to the birds and marsh life, a great experience!

Beautiful, serene, natural setting

This VRBO is exactly as advertised. The home is lovely and set-up perfectly for a family, couples, or small group of friends. The location within Bluffton is great - everything is accessible, and Hilton Head Island isn't far either. The best thing about this rental is the setting - you're in the marsh, near a river, and birds and other wildlife abound. My kids and I loved every minute of this vacation and 100% will rent this place again!

Enchanting Island Cottage

Wow! This was one of our most unique rental experiences ever. The name, Devil's Elbow Cottage, caught our attention when reviewing the property online. Our arrival did not disappoint. A narrow land bridge just wide enough for a vehicle connects the island to mainland. A carriage drive winds through woodland and pasture leading to your arrival. Deer, crabs, innumerable birds and even an armadillo abound on the island. A slice of heaven that has been loved and protected by the family for almost a century. A short, easy drive into Bluffton and miles of bike trails are icing on the cake for this property. Can't wait for our next visit here.

Serene Escape

This was my second stay at this fabulous property. This is a peaceful gem. What a treat to sit on the lovely porch and watch the wildlife and the marsh. Wonderful and comfortable cottage that has lovely views of the marsh. The beautiful property is just as advertised and the owners are very present to answer any questions that arise. Quiet getaway

Great place to relax and do nothing, which is what we wanted. Place is clean and well maintained. Never did find the dock so if you’re interested in that then ask owner for directions. He is very responsive as he took care of a broken coffee pot right away.

Peaceful

I need to apologize for the late review of this wonderful cottage. My wife and I stayed the 9-12 June as a weekend get away for our anniversary. As others have mentioned, the photos cannot describe the beauty of the “Devil’s Elbow Cottage”. I am a very early riser and being able to sit in a comfy chair on that screened in back porch with a cup of coffee is about as good as it gets. The cottage itself has everything you need right down to Dove soap in the shower. Other then the occasionally airplane over head it is extra quiet yet close to everything. I might add the couch is perfect for napping (ask me how I know). We truly appreciate the Cram family allowing us the opportunity to share a little part of their world. Rich and Amanda

Blissful Oasis

The cottage was even better than we expected. It looked amazing online but photos can’t really do justice to the unique location of the property nestled in the marshes and how breathtaking it is. Even though you are ten minutes from all the amenities you could want and the lovely town of Blufton, you feel as though you’ve landed in another world far away from the bustle of everyday life. It literally took our breath away and we’d just shake our head in disbelief as we drove down the winding driveway. We saw an eagle, deer and even an alligator and I could watch the Spanish moss swaying on the old oak trees surrounding the cottage from the screened porch for hours. It was just magical and we can’t say enough nice things about how wonderful this place was.

Beautiful & Peaceful!

The cottage was perfect for our family of four. Spectacular views of the marsh, access to fishing and plenty of opportunities for walking, biking and exploring the surrounding property. The cottage had everything we needed and the screened in porch was amazing. Peter provided lots of great information about the surrounding area. We will definitely be back!
