Recientemente renovado con espectaculares vistas de West Maui y South Shore, esta casa está ubicada en el centro para todas sus actividades de North Shore y Upcountry. Po'okela Paradise was lovely! The location was perfect for our Maui visit, making it easy to get to everything. We loved the views from the patio, comfortable beds, and the spacious living/kitchen/dining area. Mark was an excellent host! We would definitely book again.

Pookela Paradise is superb. The host made us feel very much at home. The views from the house are spectacular. The walk into town is easy. We didn't have to drive too far to see or do anything. We'd love to stay again.

It was such a pleasure having Milton and his family visit from Western Canada! They nearly got stranded on their return because of flight delays due to a storm, but it all worked out. Here at Pookela Paradise we accommodate late check-out request whenever possible (i.e. there isn't another party arriving the same day), and we always accommodate luggage storage on the day of checkout if needed. Comfortable house great location

Comfortable house great location Just a couple blocks from the heart of Mukawao With plenty of good restaurants easily available. Owner was extremely responsive And accommodating. But highly recommend this place as a base for upcountry as well as north shore beaches

Peaceful mountain views

was a great place to come back and relax after our day of adventuring. Was centrally located to do all the things we wanted to do. The dinner table was spacious and we played board games there every night with the games we brought.

Family get away

Property was as advertised , could not have found a better property, I have visited Maui Three times over the last 25 years , this is a great property for anyone who wants a nice quiet ( except for the roosters,which are all over the Island) but we loved the property to want to come back

As for the feral chickens, yes they are all over Maui, but thankfully there aren't any roosting in close proximity of Pookela Paradise so their morning crows are in the distance rather than close by, which makes a huge difference!

Beautiful, peaceful, great location!

Loved this slice of Paradise including Miss Kitty (neighbors social cat) who greeted us at our car before and after every adventure. We wanted to stay away from the sea of humanity this time and explore more of the interior of the island. The house was comfy and well equipped and placed us closer to Haleakala and the Lavendar Farm, as well as great eats in Haiku. Makawao is charming and has everything you need including a great market. I would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic stay

It was a fantastic stay here in Makawa. My friends and I are here celebrating a big birthday and home was just perfect for us. The views are incredible. The weather in Makawao is so cool. In the evenings you just never need an air conditioning. We met Mark the owner, who was super nice and accommodating. I will come back here with my family again if it’s available.

Home away from home!

Our stay on Maui was great in big part because of our booking at Pookela Paradise. Mark was very easy to communicate with and provided a very nice place for us to stay. The house is well set up and has great views. It has all the things we needed and is in a perfect location as long as you have a car to get around the island. We were even able to store our bags on the last day so that we could take off for the day and not worry about what was in our car all day at the beach. Thanks, would love to stay here again another time.

Ample living space with a great view

Great property. Walking distance to historic Makawao. Beautiful view of the mountains and bay from the deck and dining area, great sunsets. Full kitchen. Laundry access is a plus! Comfy beds. Overall it was nice staying in a neighborhood. Only downside is the noise of the neighborhood: rosters crowing a lot of the night, dogs barking, etc. So just bring ear plugs.

Thank you Sarah for the Five Star review! So nice to have Sarah and her family at Pookela Paradise and I'm happy they enjoyed the views and proximity to Makawao Town. While there are some feral chickens in the neighbourhood (as there are all over Upcountry Maui), there are non roosting in close proximity. Closest roosting (i.e. at night) are over 500 feet away. Many guests like the morning crowing from the roosters off in the distance, myself included. But, if you're a light sleeper and/or unaccustomed to rural sounds in the morning, you may wish to bring ear plugs as advised. by Sarah.
